Very private and so stylish, The Refuge is the ultimate Tortola beach villa! A spacious Great Room and three beautiful bedroom suites which can sleep up to six guests in style - the entire villa is centrally air-conditioned. All rooms look out to sea views, and each suite has its own private romantic balcony.
An electronic gate ushers you into this just-completed property; stairs descend to the villa's upper level entry. On either side of the upper-level entry foyer are two bedroom suites, a king master suite with its own kitchenette, and a two-twin bed suite. A curved stai...rcase leads to The Refuge's main level, with the kitchen, dining area and Great Room on one side and the second king master bedroom/bath suite on the other. In the middle is a powder room and french doors which open out to a small deck set with two chaise lounges and the refreshing dip pool.
The high-ceilinged, very comfortable Great Room is the heart of The Refuge. Two large, plush sofas flanked by upholstered chairs provide gathering space for everyone, and a large 42-inch flat screen cable TV, DVD player and a Bose iPod dock are ready for your entertainment. There are even pull-down blinds to keep the bright sun out as you wish. Tall french doors open out to an ocean view verandah with cushioned seating on one side, and to the pool alcove on the other. The sleek kitchen and center island with bar stools is adjacent, featuring stainless steel appliances, anigre wood cabinetry and a warm cedar ceiling. Alongside is a round dining table for six, and just outside through french doors is another covered dining area, alfresco, bordered by tropical landscaping and overlooking the picturesque Bay.
The lower king bedroom/bath suite is a perfect private oasis for two. Screened slider doors open out to this suite's private covered patio. This suite features a stunning bath divided into three areas for excellent privacy - a vanity with two glass vessel sinks, a separate WC and bidet, and a tiled bathtub/shower area alongside another shower, just outside via a french door.
The Refuge's upper level offers the second king master bedroom/bath suite, this one also featuring its own covered verandah looking out to sea, and with bonuses of an equipped kitchenette with a microwave and mini-fridge and a washer and dryer. Across the foyer is The Refuge's two-twin suite, artfully designed in loft fashion, looking down into the Great Room and through a high, perfectly-situated window framing azure Brewer's Bay and blue skies beyond. Doors across the loft wall can be closed for privacy. A door opens to the twin suite's private patio, and the bathroom is a work of art, featuring an attractive vanity with two bamboo sinks, a tiled alfresco rain shower covered with a pergola just outside, a separate WC area, and a square bathtub with a window showcasing those mesmerizing sea views.
Exiting from the dining area, you can take a trail with railroad-tie steps (no railings or lighting) just 60 feet down to the perfect white sands of Brewer's Bay, where you can swim, snorkel and enjoy walks along the long beach. The Refuge is artfully designed for both spacious seclusion for couples and togetherness for families. The more time you spend at The Refuge, the more you will appreciate its privacy and its fine design features. Sleek tilework and chic lighting throughout add to the clean, modern decor: organic but very elegant. Refuge requires a minimum rental of: 5 days for April 30 - Nov 18 2011, Nov 26 - Dec 16 2011, April 14 - Dec 16 2012, and Nov 24 - Dec 14 2012; a minimum rental of 7 days for Nov 19 - Nov 25 2011, Jan 07 - April 13 2012, and Nov 17 - Nov 23 2012; and a minimum rental of 10 days for Dec 17 - Jan 06 2012 and Dec 15 - Jan 04 2013.
Refuge requires a $500 damage deposit.
Swim or stroll the white-sand beaches, explore ancient ruins or our delectable local cuisine, or drop anchor and rock with the rhythm of the azure ocean. Laid back and quiet, the landscape is rugged, with winding roads. Tortola's mountainous geography also offers lots of hiking trails and camping, especially in Mount Sage National Park. Some notable beaches you may want to visit during your stay include Smugglers Cove, Long Bay Beach, Little Apple Bay, Cane Garden Bay, Brewers Bay, Elizabeth Beach and Josiahs Bay. Aside from being a premier uncrowded beach destination, Tortola and Beef Island are known for ideal sailing conditions. To indulge in the sailing community, visit one of the many harbours throughout the island.
