Imagine being able to see far and wide across the islands of St John, Jost Van Dyke, St Thomas and Puerto Rico, and down onto the dramatic beaches of Long Bay and Smugglers Cove.

Imagine all of this and more, and you have the luxurious Tingalayo.

This exclusive private estate rests occupies nearly 4 acres of land. A tropical paradise, embracing a sense of total relaxation and freedom. The open living floor...plan, with expansive hardwood decks and hints of Bali, provides a place for contemplation. Each time you stop and think you've seen everything, you find a new treasure: breadfruit trees, hibiscus, aloe, golden flowers. A combination of tastes with wonderful art pieces spanning Italian modern, Buddhist temple to Caribbean vibes. You have found paradise.

Caribbean flavor is introduced through a blend of colors in each room: flamingo pink for the entertainment room, ocean blue for the master bedroom suite, cool sky blue in the kitchen and living area, rustic orange for the BBQ and dining area, and a tantalizing teal for the second of the bedrooms.

This luxury villa is designed around the ultimate in Infinity Pools, shaped like a large cloud, with a spacious terrace on one side and courtyard with a dining pavilion on the other, allowing you to take in the stunning ocean and island vistas. On a clear day, guests can see all the way to Puerto Rico from this truly unique location.

From the pool you can access the Lounge Area. The lounge has cool blue walls, large bookshelves, a flat screen television and stereo with Ipod docking unit, allowing you to while away the hours in relaxation with the family and guests.

The spectacular Kitchen is best described as contemporary Caribbean Cottage on a grand scale, with heavy granite counter tops, a Viking stove/oven and separate pantry with two large fridge/freezers and two dishwashers.

The first of the bedrooms with an en suite bathroom is the Ocean-Blue Master Suite, completely private from the rest of the house and offering spectacular views of Jost Van Dyke, with an adjoining large private decking area outside, equipped with heated Jacuzzi tub and fabulous four-poster outdoor day bed.

Just a few steps away, you find the Flamingo Pink Media Room, alive with bright and bold artwork and with its own heart stopping views of the surrounding islands from a large private balcony taking up nearly the entire west wall. Heavy mahogany French doors, built to keep the light out for those cozy evenings in, create the perfect environment for snuggling up to watch a film on the 52 inch flat screen TV with surround sound. A wonderfully cool retreat from the midday sun and a chance to relax in state of the art air-conditioned surroundings.

Returning to the main pavilion and just off the kitchen you have the Outdoor Dining Room in a rustic orange. Offering a delightful indoor-outdoor eating experience, amplified by the breathtaking backdrop. Equipped with a magnificent heavy cedar dining table that seats 12, you can dine in style, with state of the art BBQ, two wine fridges and concrete counter work surfaces. An ideal spot to take in the sunsets and spectacular moonlit nights as the sea becomes a silver paradise for you to enjoy.

Explore the other side of the pool and you enter an Enchanting Haven Two Bedroom Suite. Heavy mahogany doors open onto a large shared bathroom intricately decorated with a splendor of sea green mosaic tiles, equipped with a shower, ingenious bathtub for the kids and double basin. The suites are simple and innocent in design, with Italian country style beds and bookshelves brought to life with a splash of vibrant color with a funky art Deco orange sofa seat and colorful beads.

Follow the covered decking around and you reach the Fairytale Suite. Kept blissfully cool by the sea breeze which floats in through the wall sized window opening out onto the islands below. This suite says Romantic Italian& with a four-poster bed with hidden dressing area and private, outdoor shower & yet another great spot from which to enjoy the unsurpassed views!

At the other end of the garden is a delightful, very private 2 bedroom guest cottage with equally breath taking views with its own heated plunge pool. Finished a similar style to the main house, with the same flair and open plan lounge and kitchen area and bedrooms fully air- conditioned. A covered terrace area surrounds a small heated plunge pool with yet more explosive views!

All the bedrooms have air-conditioning and ceilings fans. All is kept to a very high standard by a full time gardener, carpenter and a maid all managed by a very responsible local company that will be able to cater for all your needs.

  My husband and I, and a group of friends, stayed at the Tingalayo villa for a wedding of one of the couples, which took place on-site at the villa.
  
  I cannot say enough about how amazing this villa is, sitting over 1300 feet high atop Sage Mountain, with breathtaking views of the island below and other islands as far as the eye could see.
  
  The villa itself:
  
  The Main house cottage has a large kitchen, half bath, a semi-outdoor living room and dining room w/bar and wine/beer refrigerators, a separate media cottage with a huge flat screen tv and two awesome theater seats, an outdoor infinity pool with lounge seating, and an outdoor dining table with bench and chair seating. There are also steps leading from the villa up to a huge Buddha that sits on a hill just above/behind the villa with majestic views of the landscape.
  
  The master bedroom with full bath is in a separate cottage, and outside behind is a jacuzzi/whirlpool tub and an outdoor king bed set. Bedrooms 2 and 3 with full baths are in a cottage next to the pool, and behind is a cottage with bedroom 4, full bath w/outdoor shower, and laundry room.
  
  Then there's a separate guest house that has a full kitchen, living room and full bath on first floor, bedroom 5 and 6 with full bath on 2nd floor. There's also an outdoor patio w/furniture and a plunge pool (square, 8' deep pool for a quick dip).
  
  My husband and I stayed in the guest house and were so comfortable. There's a maid that does laundry for the guests, does the dishes, and puts out fresh flowers. She came every other day for us and she was so hospitable. There's also a pool man that comes to clean the pool and do other landscaping chores.
  
  Seriously, this was the best vacation accommodations I've ever had and I'd go back to Tingalayo in a heartbeat.
