3 level cabin, each level with a bedroom (2 K, 1Q), bathroom, living area & full deck with mountain views, in a community next to the Great Smokey Mountains National Park. The top floor FREE Wi-Fi (Wireless-N Dual Band Secure Router) reaches all cabin levels and spaces. Our MoonStar is ridge located and wooded with great mountain views on each of the decks. There are no up or down steps to entry and no steep driveway. The mostly wood cabin is in the private and gated Laurel Valley Community of Townsend, Tennessee. The Laurel Valley Community contains some of the largest, quality mountain homes in Tennessee. We intend that this will be o...ur primary residence when we retire, so we hope that you respect the quality of the home. We purchased this 2007-built cabin in 2011 and completely refurnished the cabin with quality furniture including some quality antiques and all new technology.

The ground level floor contains the living room with quality leather furniture, a fully equipped kitchen, a master bedroom with a king size bed, reading space and Jacuzzi, and full cabin length screened deck. The master bedroom bed has a memory foam top on a quality traditional mattress. The bedroom Jacuzzi allows year round bathing. The living room contains a wall secured Sony 46� LED HiDef 3D flat screen TV, Wi-Fi connected Sony Play Station 3 (PS3 for playing Blu-ray Disc, PS3 games, etc.*), RCA Home Theater sound system, a Comcast HiDef TV cable decoder and APC Backup-UPS. The kitchen is fully equipped with a glass top stove and oven, microwave, dishwasher, dishes, dinnerware, most accessory appliances, cooking utensils, etc. There is a quality gas grill on the kitchen level patio. The kitchen level patio is fully screened for open door use during much of the year.

A game/play room is located downstairs with its own bedroom, bathroom, and full cabin length deck. The lower level bedroom has a queen size bed and a reading area. The full size 2011 washer and dryer are also located on the lower level in a separate room. The game room has a secure, wall mounted, Sony 40� LED HiDef flat screen TV with a Comcast cable connection, Wi-Fi connected Microsoft Xbox 360* with Kinect and a number of classic games. There is enough room in the game room to use the full potential of the Microsoft Kinect motion and identity detection systems. There are also a number of quality and classic board games, a miniature air hockey, a game table, etc. The bottom deck has a hammock and stairs down to the ground sloping hill for a second exit to the home.

The top floor has a second master bedroom with a king size bed and reading area, bathroom and a spacious loft overlooking the ground level living room. The second master bedroom bed has a memory foam top on a quality traditional mattress. The loft contains a quality queen sized sofa sleeper. The top deck has a two seat wooden swing for peaceful viewing of the sky and mountains. The top floor also has the Cisco LinkSys Wireless-N Dual Band Secure Router for cabin wide Wi-Fi.

*The Sony Play Station 3 (PS3) and the Microsoft Xbox 360 each connect with the cabin wide FREE Wi-Fi for full use of partner entertainment and media services provide by the respective hardware & software vendor. We have attempted to install all available entertainment and media services on each device. Those partner media services include Netflix, Hulu+, HBOGo, ESPN, NFL Sunday Ticket, Last.fm, etc. Our guests need to have their own subscriptions to all vendor supplied media services.

We are proud to have invested in a roof located solar energy system that we are hoping produces as much energy as our home uses. We have installed a 8.64 kW DC (STC) solar photovoltaic (PV) system using 36 240W Sharp solar modules, one SMA 6000 inverter and one SMA 4000 inverter that feeds back to the electric grid through a meter. We want to share this information with all our clients to help them feel better about staying in our mountain home.

Our home is located in the Laurel Valley Community (gated, http://LaurelValley.org/) Townsend, East Tennessee, USA. Peace and tranquility, but only a short distance from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park (http://www.NPS.gov/grsm), Cades Cove, Hiking, Bicycling, Tubing, Golf, Antiques and shopping. Our home is also approximately 30 minutes from the attractions of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, on the quiet side of the Smokes.

  We have rented many homes on our vacations and this was the nicest. One of the reasons we stay in these homes is because we like to make our own meals. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking necessities, nice glasses & dishes and nice appliances. The furniture was well made. Gas Fireplace in living room was perfect for the unusually cold spring weather we encountered.
  Even with 2 kids, we were very glad we chose to stay in Townsend after seeing the "atmosphere" of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. It really is the quiet side of the Smokies, yet close to whatever you want to do.

  We stayed in this lovely home in October and the Fall leaves were beyond beautiful. The house is well equipped - we had everything we needed and more. The kitchen is lovely and easy to work in and the king sized bed very luxurious! The location is convenient to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park where we love to hike. We plan to return here often.
