Beautiful and elegant apartment in front of Pepoli Museum and Saint Mary Church Gardens, one of the most prestigious neighborhoods in Trapani. Give yourself plenty of space, light, and comfort, and fully enjoy your stay. The apartment consists of two large bedrooms, each with en-suite bathroom , a fully equipped kitchen that oversees a lovely courtyard, a dining room (it can accommodate two additional guests), and a beautiful parlor with a large balcony that opens on Saint Mary Church Gardens. Private parking for one car is also included. The apartment is within walking distance from the cableway to Erice - one of the most picturesque med...ieval towns in Italy - and only a a few minutes from the beach. You can reach Trapani port to catch the boats to the breathtaking Egadi Islands or visit the old town in 5 minutes by car. Within a short drive from the natural and historical beauties that Trapani offers: Cornino Bay, San Vito, Segesta, Scopello, the Zingaro reserve, and much more.

Neighborhood: The apartment is located in one of Trapani's most convenient neighborhoods. You'll have access to plenty of grocery stores, supermarkets, bars, cafes, and other shopping points. Run to the Despar downstairs to get some fresh sandwiches, drinks, and any other groceries (also open on Sundays). Have breakfast at Bar Todaro and enjoy one of the best cappucinos in town accompanied by fresh pastries and brioches, and don't miss the mythical 'timbalettos' or 'arancines' on your way out. In the mood for some serious ice cream? Run downstairs and try the famous 'nocciola mantecato' on a brioche, or go to Benivegna and taste its famous cannoli or its selection of small cones. Hop on the cableway and get drinks in Erice; a perfect way to end the day - beauty and romance just around the corner.

Why rent in Trapani: Trapani and the surrounding area are a breathtaking mixture of natural beauties and historical attractions. If you love snorkeling and scuba-diving, visit the beautiful Egadi islands, accessible by ferryboat in less than half an hour. For sunbathing and swimming, choose Trapani's beach, but make it sure you pick a spot close to the windmill toward the end of the beach, away from the crowd. Also add to your trip plan a visit to Cornino's and Macari's bays. Avoid San Vito in August - just too busy. But visit Lo Zingaro, a pristine natural park with amazing little bays where you can spend the day hiking, swimming, and sunbathing. If you love history, go to Segesta and Selinunte where you'll find majestic marks of the ancient Greek's architecture. Or visit Erice, one of the most picturesque medieval towns in Italy. A lover of the arts? Then spend half a day in Gibellina at the lunar spot of the 'Gretto' and the sophisticated contemporary art museum 'The Gibellina Foundation. The list of things to do and food not to miss is endless. But in the end, what is going to make your vacation unforgettable is where you choose to stay. While the area offers many rental locations, Trapani is the most strategic gateway of all. Also, the only place that won't feel too touristy and unnecessarily expensive in the summer months. While you want to stay in a pretty place, you probably won't want to be stuck on a crowded island, or end up feeling overwhelmed by the droves of tourists who swarm San Vito in July and August, or feel you have to climb up and down from Erice everyday to reach the nearest beach. Similarly, it won't make sense to choose poorly-served locations when you can stay in a picturesque sea-town that offers plenty of excellent restaurants and night-life spots.   We stayed here for a week and were welcomed on arrival by Giorgia's lovely Mum with whom we communicated by waving our arms at each other as we don't speak more than a handful of Italian words (getting better though). The apartment is large and nicely furnished with little clutter and if there's only 2 of you, you can easily lose each other. A real plus was the air-con in the front living room and another unit in the hallway outside the bedrooms without which we wouldn't have got much sleep as it was hot outside. The big high-ceilinged front room overlooks the street and is above and adjacent to a lovely ice-cream parlour downstairs, which is also well worth a visit. However, we didn't find it noisy and it would be easy to shut out completely anyway with the double-glazing and shutter. In fact, it was a lot of fun to watch the world go by outside from the balcony (another plus) and people coming and going from the massive church opposite (didn't really notice any bells). There are 2 sizeable bedrooms, each with a nice en-suite bathroom and plenty of cupboard space. The street has plenty going on and has a few places to eat and shop for groceries etc.. We tried the restaurant over the road and were the only customers, but the food was lovely. There's a great friendly pizza place a few hundred metres down the road too (turn left out of the door). Both these were the sort of family-run places that hardly exist in the UK anymore, so I would encourage people to visit them to find out what we're missing. There is also a bus stop to the centre a couple of hundred metres to the right (same side of the road) as you exit the building, which was useful. I never managed to pick up a bus timetable though as I couldn't find anyone in the station who could help out, so we just waited until one came along
  
  I dealt with Giorgia for the booking and her communication in perfect English was exemplary. She seemed to reply to some of my enquiries almost before I'd hit 'send'!
  
  The only drawback was a faulty air-con unit in the inner courtyard, which belonged to the ice-cream parlour and which kept us awake for a few days with it's howling. It then stopped - I guess it was repaired. This was nothing to do with the apartment though, so I'm not going to mark it down on that. The wi-fi signal could also do with a little boost.
  
  All in all, a really nice stay and a really nice family who were a pleasure to do business with.
  
  P.S. This review is a little late as I've only just realised I hadn't filled one out and I promised I would. Next time I'll write one before I leave so that I don't have to remember!
