Martins Point is a late 18th Century house and cottages on Maryland's historic Eastern Shore where the Underground Railroad once passed through the property. It is located on a secluded finger of land, surrounded by water on three sides, a place to unwind, immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the Chesapeake Bay and reconnect with family and friends.

Additional Location Information

Martin’s Point is a 120-acre estate located in on Maryland’s historic Eastern Shore due east of Washington, DC. It is a peninsula at the convergence of La Trappe Creek and the Choptank River, the centerpiece for James Mitchener’s best seller, Chesapeake. You can enjoy the freedom of your own private compound, no houses in sight, but convenient to shopping, dining and entertainment in nearby Easton, Oxford and Cambridge. There is a deep water dock, swimming pool, private beach, and 2.5 miles of shoreline. The farm itself is still a working farm with a full array of barnyard animals.

The nine room main house has four bedrooms, three and a half baths, two working fireplaces and a two-story screened porch. It is furnished with all amenities. One guest cottage has two bedrooms and two baths. The other has two bedrooms and one bath. All dwellings are heated and air-conditioned. The main house and two adjacent cottages comfortably accommodate up to 16 overnight guests.

A more complete description of Martin’s Point and environs is available upon request, and photos can be viewed at our website at
Martins Point is located on its own peninsula, and with no houses in sight and water on all sides, it feels as if you are on an island.
