An ex-chapel next to "Vanzetti" on the Collina estate, Chiesina has now been converted into a delightful little house for two. The Collina estate has been in the same family for over 400 years, and the charming owner is helpful and very knowledgeable about the area.
Chiesina has its own dining pergola and outside space, sharing the main garden and swimming pool with I Vanzetti. The main body of the chapel has been left untouched, used as a sitting room. La Chiesina is tucked away at the end of a private road and has superb
views down the valley to Tredozio.
The accommodation really is converted out of an old chapel and, while
tiny, is ideal for a couple.
It does share a pool with a villa which is next door - but the week we
stayed that (the villa not the pool) was empty (ideal!).
La Chiesina does have its own patio and barbecue and is in a fantastic
location.
Tredozio has a couple of shops and restaurants which can provide just
about everything you need, but nearby Faenza is worth a visit and it's
within easy-ish reach of Bologna.
Be warned - Florence looks close on a map but is the other side of a
mountain and it takes hours of slow driving on small, winding roads to
get there!
All in all a great place for a couple looking for a romantic hideaway.Response from Invitation to Tuscany Ltd - 06/11/2009
