Additional Location Information
Few locations in the United States can compare to the beauty and diversity of Mt. Desert Island (MDI), home to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Acadia Sunset Oceanfront Cottages are detached homes along the oceanfront, facing out to sea on the west side of MDI. MDI itself is easily accessible by bridge – no ferry crossing is required to access this part of Acadia. Green shaded areas on the map are the National Park. You enjoy easy access to the Park and all of its amenities from this location, without having to sleep in the bustle and noise of Bar Harbor itself. Enjoy spectacular sunsets out over the ocean every evening from the luxury and privacy of your own screened-in porch and cozy cottage.

Ipswich, MAA perfect setting for any acadia getaway
Left on 10/08/2012 for a stay in September 2012
This was our third year renting on Mount Desert Island from the Cutrones, and our first year staying in acadia Sunset. The photos of the cottage don't quite give justice to the setting on Duck Cove on the "quiet side" of MDI. The rolling green lawn down to the rocky cove coastline is magical, and sunsets truly are amazing from the porch. The amenities in the cottage are perfect for a few days or week-long stay. Everything is always clean and neat upon arrival, all furniture and rugs in very good condition. The bed in the master bedroom is delightfully comfortable, and the two upstairs bedrooms are charming. The kitchen layout is spacious and the downstairs ping pong table remains a hit with the kids every year. All of this combined with the excellent communication and helpfulness of the Cutrones guarantees that we will be back!

Arundel, MeA Real Maine Experience!
Left on 08/10/2012 for a stay in August 2012
Beautiful cottage with lovely (ever changing) water views! More than we expected...the cottage was comfortable, peaceful, and well appointed. The highlights included, the screened In porch, ping pong room, private bathrooms and WiFi.
Loved the location! It is close enough to many of the local attractions yet, when you come back for the day...ahh! Truly, there were many times this cottage just made us say...ahh. A perfect Maine experience.Response from Joy & Peter Cutrone - 08/13/2012

Blooming Glen, PAThe perfect place for an acadia-loving family.
Left on 06/25/2012 for a stay in June 2012
This was our 2nd time staying at this great place and it was just as great this time as last Sept.
First, you can't beat being right on the water--exploring the beach, watching the wildlife and, of course, the sunsets.
We have been hiking acadia for years and the location of the cottage is perfect. We can go out for a quick hike on the quiet side or spend the day out hiking, eat dinner in Bar Harbor or Southwest Harbor and be home ready to recharge for the next day.
Great restaurants are close by or you can buy live lobsters and steam theme at home!
It's a great place for families--plenty of room for our 6-yr old's stuff, his love of exploring and a nice yard for a catch. And the owners are teriffic to work with--the process is simple.
We highly recommend it and hope to be back agan next year.Response from Joy & Peter Cutrone - 07/04/2012

R, MB & J: we appreciate the appreciation. And we look forward to welcoming you back next year!

Madison, NJMemorable peaceful stay in beautiful location near arcadia Natio
Left on 01/20/2012 for a stay in June 2011
Joy and Peter Cutrone have a well maintained and fully equipped home on Duck Cove. The cottage is clean and spacious, and the home is located in a more private area of Mount Desert Island. Yet, it is easy to drive to all the attractions of acadia. We enjoyed the balance of rest and relaxation with the outdoor adventures of the area. The Cutrone's have a binder in the home with area attractions, and they were available by phone and internet to answer questions. Trip of a lifetime for us!

Acadia Loving Family
Blooming Glen, PALocation and home fit our needs perfectly.
Left on 01/14/2012 for a stay in September 2011
Peter and Joy were great to work with. Relatives nearby were readily available had any concerns arisen. The home worked great to share with family - each bedroom having its own bathroom. Water location is great (we did not mind steep steps to the beach). Beach great for exploring. Close to both acadia National Park trails, Southwest Harbor very close and not bad drive to Bar Harbor. The ping pong table in the basement was great addition, especially if hitting a rainy day!

Great home with lots of room including a game room downstairs. The beds were all comfortable, kitchen very suitable for indoor cooking and dining. Lots of light, airy and we could get the internet at different times on our laptop. Close enough to acadia N.P., and Bar Harbor--but not too close.
What I enjoyed most was waking up early (before the boys) listening to the sound of the cove waters, walking down the steps to the rocks and looking for things--starfish, shells and such. -

New JerseyPerfect Getaway
Left on 01/09/2012 for a stay in August 2011
We got 4 professionals (my wife and 2 kids) to coordinate a vacation and this was the perfect spot. This home is walk-in ready for vacationers and was spotless, convenient, far enough away from crowds, and care-free. Service, Scheduling, and the Details were all well handled by the Cutrones.
The area was a hoot: we hiked, whale watched, toured, and relaxed. We have done rentals in other parts of the country, but this was by far the best.
