Nice bungalows, nice location, handy for all the family. The tennis court was great. In the summer the bar-b-que will be an excellant addition. But - the heating was awful all the floors are tiled - easy to look good for future guests but with the heating being underfloor - it was always cold. The woodchip wasn't on so we were told we would be paying for gas which is much more expensive - we didn't expect this at all. Thankfully there was a woodburner in the living room which provided heat. Unfortunately, the wood boxes were empty so we had to gather our own.

Dear Nic,
Thank you for taking the time to review your visit to Beechwood Lodge and thank you for the kind comments as regards our accommodation and facilities for families.
We were sad to hear of your comments as regards the heating, this was a rare unprecedented event as we normally supply our own woodchip, but were unable to on this occasion, As a result we had to order from an outside supplier but due to mechanical operational issues they were unable to deliver. The gas available was charged at cost rate and wood for the wood burning stove was supplied as always with our compliments. Guests are free to adjust their heating as they wish and at no stage during their stay did they mention any issues with the heat.
This family was originally booked into one of our 2 bedroom apartments and prior to their stay were made aware that they were being given a complimentary upgrade to one of our luxury 3 bedroom bungalows.
This accommodation has been occupied since the date this family departed and we have had no complaints as regards the efficiency of our under floor heating
.
We were happy that your family and extended family from nearby enjoyed our tennis court, playground and beautiful grounds.
Best wishes & kind regards,
Christine Treacy

Friendly reception with a warm fire and fresh bread in the morning
The house is excellent for a short stay
The children loved the dogs and the forest around the house.
It's very quiet and relaxing. There is a lot to see in the neighbourhood.

Our dogs really missed all the attention when the Noordermeer family left. So nice to see children enjoying the animals.--- Trish

We stayed at the Beechwood Lodge for a week and had a fabulous time. My family booked three separate properties as I was getting married locally. We arrived to a very warm welcome of fresh scones and homemade jam. Accommodation is brilliant; well equipped (dishwasher, washing machine, plenty of pots and pans) and extremely comfortable. Location is excellent; just a few minutes from Trim centre with all its amenities yet very tranquil and relaxing. It was perfect for kids of all ages; my niece and nephews had a fabulous time doing nature trails in the woods, riding their bikes and playing tennis and basketball.
Highly recommended.Response from Patricia Smith - 07/29/2012

The Chawke family brought a special weather charm, which worked really well ,and the sun shone for the big wedding day. Hopefully we will see them all back for a family reunion one day. Thanks you for the kind words--- Trish

We stayed here during the Trim Balloon Fiesta and really enjoyed the welcome, the location close to Trim (and convenient for Dublin) and the facilities in the self-catering cottage. The wood burning stove was great for cool evenings and the cottage was well furnished and comfortable for two couples. We didn't have time to try the sauna but it's a great idea. Only thing to improve was the weather - bright and sunny for the first three days but too windy for balloons!

Ah well, the lack of ballooning weather left more time to explore the local pubs!!!! Better luck next time. Trish

Trish the owner could not have made us more welcome and the accomodation, 3 bedroom bungalow, was very comfortable. the location proved good for both Dublin (40 mins) and the surrounding area. As a family with 18 month old twins and a son of 11 we all enjoyed our stay at Beechwood Lodge and found plenty of interesting places to visit throughout the weeks stay.
