Talk about a Treasure, WOW what a view, laying in bed every morning looking at that view was just amazing. The girls loved the beach all the rock pools and sea life,so many things to do and explore.Great trail down to the beach, right out side the yard(5mins down maybe,10 back up) really makes you feel like your on vacation/adventure.We spent 8days here and loved every minute. So close to everything in town and out, redwoods, lagoons,so many things to explore and was great to have a entire week with no TV, the kids never even thought about it. Everything in the house was neat, clean and comfortable. The inside remodel is very nice.We had family of 4 with 2 kids 6&14 and grandparents to visit for last few days and had plenty of room.Sitting on the deck having lunch with that view..wonderful and no neighbors its very quite and peaceful. The only problem we ran into is the dishwasher the bottom rack is the wrong size so it did not let the detergent door to release during the wash cycle. The d/w is also rather loud when running and dated.and the outside is a bit weathered but with that view you don't really care. We will with out a doubt be back here.

Thank you for your feedback. We will look into fixing the dishwasher. The owner has eventual plans to replace the siding on the house since it takes such a beating due to the proximity to the beach and ocean air. We are so glad that you too felt this house is a TREASURE! It has incredible views and a great location. We look forward to you staying with us again. -Jonna

Concord, NC, United StatesGreat Place
Left on 07/11/2012 for a stay in June 2012
This is the perfect location for a relaxing vacation in Trinidad. The views are wonderful. The property does need some maintenance though. There are a number of wild blackberry vines taking over some of the flower beds and the exterior paint is in terrible shape. The deck has a bench that runs along the outside instead of a railing. This helps with the view but can be bad if you have young children because on the other side of the bench there is a significant drop off. We would certainly rent this place again.

Thank you for your feedback. Those berries are delicious but very hard to get rid of. I will notify the landscaper. The homeowner does have plans to replace the exterior siding. It does really take a beating by it's close proximity to the ocean. -Reid

I rented Trnidad Treasure for 5 nights to share with my brother and his family. Check-in was very easy - just enter the code into the lock box loocated at the property and get the key. The bathrooms, kitchen and common area floors have been updated and are nice. The best feature of the house is the killer view over Trinidad beach - we really enjoyed this. The kitchen was stocked with enough equipment that we were able to make some nice meals although some of the pots and pans have seen better days. The yard is very private and has parking for several vehicles. The only location drawback is there is a public trail right in front of the deck - a small price to pay for the view. The basement is a combination garage / laundry room. The garage is not available for parking and has a number of discarded items in it. There is a nice gas BBQ on the deck. There are also a number of plastic chairs although they are in poor condition. Watch out for the blackberry vines that are taking over some areas of the yard- they have nasty thorns. The owners should remove these vines. The house is long overdue for an exterior paint job. There was a lot of peeling paint.
The only problem we ran into is the dishwasher timer did not release the detergent door during the wash cycle. The d/w is also extremely loud when running.
If you have young children you need to know that there is no railing around the deck other than a bench. Young children will have to be watched very carefully while on the deck. For this reason I do not recommend renting here with children under 10 or 12.
We will definitely stay here again when we have family traveling with us. My wife loved this place. -

Bridgend, England, United Kingdomsuperb location in Trinidad California
Left on 09/23/2011 for a stay in September 2011
Marvellous place to chill out after 2 weeks hectic travelling. Trinidad is a lovely little town, beautiful beach and coastline, convenient for visiting local area, acceptable eating out places with a good supermarket within walking distance. The position of the house is amazing although the outside condition of the property and garden is in need of attention. The house must have been luxury accommodation 20 year ago and is comfortable if a little tired in areas. The property is a ' shoes off house' and as such I was surprised to see some stained carpets. The upholstery on the dining room furniture was badly stained and most off putting. The kitchen had available every appliance one can imagine but the kitchen cupboards needed cleaning out and decluttering. While the bedrooms were comfortable and clean, the bedlinen was unmatched and not of high quality.; towels plentiful but small.
Inspite of these issues we had a relaxing and enjoyable stay and the agency that dealt with the original enquiry and booking was very helpful and efficient.Response from Trinidad Retreats - 10/11/2011

Just about everything about the cottage was very nice. The views were wonderful. The cottage was well equipped. The water heater is inadequate for periods of heavy use when 6 people must shower and get ready at about the same time. We had a major disconnect with the rental agency and found ourselves traveling to Trinidad and arriving late with no lock box code. Fortunately, my daughter in law personally knows the owner of the cottage and we got the code from him. All in all, it was a great place.

Overall we found the property to meet our expectations based on the photos and description from the website. The only real issue was the pet urine odor in the master bedroom. It was very strong and left us with the impression things were not very clean. Otherwise we were quite happy with the general condition of the property. Two minor items of note; the dishwasher is pointless (the soap dispenser doesn't seem to open and dishes don't come out any cleaner than when first put in), the placemats for the dining tables were dirty. We hope to have an opportunity to stay at another Trinidad property in the future. The location was stunning.

The master bed room had a terrible odor that could be smelled while passing by it. It smelled like vomit. The garbage was over piled. We wondered why pets were allowed but we had to take off our shoes on a tile floor. The view was beautiful though.

Left on 03/16/2011 for a stay in March 2011
The fireplace damper handle dropped off at the first lighting just as it did last year when we stayed at the house. Bought two boxes of wood as the wood provided was too wet to maintain a flame. Also was stored outside in the rain! Light bulb missing from lamp and lights on ledge that provide indirect light to living room do not work. Learning the operation of the microwave was a challenge as the printed letters showing various functions disappeared with age and cleaning. Check the dishwasher which ran the night before, still had dirty dishes when we went to empty on Monday morning. Despite above, we still had a wonderful time, love the house and the kitchen as we are cooks! Just think the overall maintenance needs to be addressed.
Response from Trinidad Retreats - 03/29/2011
Manager
Gosh! Sorry about those issues. We will look into them and get them alleviated. There is wood in the wood area and we provided fire starters. We will leave directions for the Microwave.
