The spacious three story Inn features a large Formal Living Room, Recreation/Gathering Room, 8 bedrooms, 8 bathrooms, a fully equipped commercial kitchen, large dining room, and laundry room. The cozy country cottage neighboring the Inn is available for groups needing more accommodations and features two bedrooms, a full kitchen, large bathroom with shower, and a laundry room . The property easily accommodates larger groups with plenty of space for trailers, RV's and tents.

Extensive renovations have retained Carrville Inn's historical charm and character while still providing modern amenities. The Inn's guest rooms are handsomely furnished with period antiques and family heirlooms. The Cabin is also fully renovated and remodeled and includes it's own kitchen, laundry room and large bath.

The surrounding sweeping lawns and flowerbeds can be enjoyed from both the upper and lower verandahs. The rural setting and a variety of barnyard animals remind you that this is truly a Country Inn. Our hens furnish the eggs for your breakfast. Berries and fruit can be picked fresh here in season.

There are lawn games, books, videos, puzzles, a hammock, a pool, and an old fashioned rope swing available for your enjoyment. The Trinity Alps area has unlimited trails for hiking, excellent stream and lake fishing, boat and patio rentals, tennis courts, winery and a local museum, all near by. Flowers, birds and wildlife abound. The scenery and unpolluted air make this a photographer's and artist's paradise. There is a choice of seasonal restaurants.

The FIREPLACE ROOM, a large wood paneled room with a massive rock fireplace, lots of books and comfortable seating, the DINING ROOM, with many windows which overlook the rose garden, the KITCHEN which is every cook's dream kitchen, the SALOON, which is now our Game Room, is decorated to celebrate the outdoorsman with examples of hunting, fishing and trapping, is filled with games, a juke box, a refrigerator for your use and more comfortable seating, and the UPPER VERANDAH, furnished with white wicker.Read more

The 517,000 acre Trinity Alps Wilderness Area is one of the largest wilderness areas in the United States. They form a breathtaking backdrop to the area and provide the adventurous with a place of unusual solitude and beauty. With air so clean you can taste its freshness you find yourself surrounded by wild beauty and jagged granite peaks.

Trinity Lake is the third largest lake in California. With 16,000 surface acres and 145 miles of shoreline it is uncrowded even during summer peak months.

  I don't understand how this has a 4 star rating when all of the reviews are 5 stars but there is no doubt that it should be a full 5 stars. No doubt.
  
  We stayed a full week, with 23 family members ranging from 90 to 13 and had a perfect week. From the farm fresh eggs to the attention to every detail, I little to add to the other reviews except to agree with all of the positives.
  
  Once a year, our extended family does a reunion, somewhere in the us. The Carville Inn has clearly been the best place for this kind of get-together, particularly since we do all of our own cooking, etc. From the outside firepit which was the gathering place every night late into the evening to the nearby hiking, cycling, boating we had a wonderful experience.
  
  You have to be willing to not have a 7-11 down the street, and if so, I would recommend booking the Carville in without any hesitation at all!

  Best Place on Earth

  My wife and I hosted a 4 night family reunion at the Carrville Inn during the summer of 2011. On first glance many were a bit turned off by what they felt was a too "out of the way” location. However, it's really not hard to get to, the drive is beautiful, and the Inn is more than worth it. Everyone loved the Inn, the grounds, and the location. Everyone agreed that it was even nicer than they expected. The Inn is clean and simply perfect. We felt like it was our home. What I personally wasn't expecting was the grounds; they will blow you away. Beautiful grass, trees, and flowers everywhere you look. Historic items placed here and there to give it flavor. A very nice swimming pool area with toys for the kids to play with. A beautiful barn with chickens (we had fresh eggs every day!). One thing they don't show much of on their website is the huge outdoor patio space. Tons of outdoor seating here with a very large fire pit and a commercial 2-tank propane BBQ grill.
  
  Back to the Inn, I love to cook and I was in dreamland in this kitchen. It's a large commercial kitchen designed to feed a crowd. All the bedrooms were clean and beautiful. The common areas gave us plenty of room to spread out. We loved hanging out at the bar and playing games.
  
  Overall we loved the place. Not a single complaint. Dave and Sheri (the owners) were wonderful. My sister-in-law, who drove 20 hours to get here from albuquerque said this was the "Best place on Earth”. I personally can't wait to return. I'm already working on my next visit!

  50th wedding anniversary and family reunion - Wonderful!!

  We rented the entire resort including the cabin and had two RVs on site also. The pool was enjoyed as well as huge swing and hammock. Everything was so clean and neat, Nne could not expect more. The outside barbeque area is wonderful for our large group, with tables, lights and huge barbeque and serving area. We brought our ski boat and put it in at Trinity Center which was convenient and enjoyed by the teenagers. Some hiked into Boulder Lakes Trinity Wilderness and were thrilled. We had a catered dinner one day. The well supplied commercial kitchen was a pleasure for us to work in as well as the caterer. The rooms are beautifully furnished with comfortable beds and bathrooms and victorian furniture and accessories. What a romantic setting for our 50th anniversary. The front porch was popular with the older set as they could swing on the swing and enjoy the beautiful snow covered mountains and watch the kids in their activities. The owners even allowed the children to gather the eggs from the chickens and we could use them in our meals. That was a great extra! This venue is remote but this element kept everyone in the area which proved to be one of the big reasons we had such great suceess with the multi generational gathering. We rented for one week which gave everyone a real chance to slow down and enjoy each other as well as all the beauty around us.
  The owners are hard working and very alert and helpful when needed and always so kind to everyone. We felt so blessed to be able to have this special event in our lives at this location. It was more than I could even expect in my dreams of what our 50th anniversary would be like. A huge thank you to Dave and Sheri overly for their vision of what this place could be and all their hard work to make it happen. We are most grateful!!
