Great View

Wow... what a view this house has. The house Had so many amenities.. pool table , Sanua and Spa. We enjoyed all of them. We didnt have to leave the house to enjoy ourselves. NorthStar bus services was great,the staff were all so nice. How convenient they picked you up right at the door step. Our Family enjoyed our stay here and look forward to staying next year.

Great house with fantastic views!

We stayed in this house for 6 nights and we hated to leave. It is conveniently located to Northstar ski resort. Although we drove the few minutes, a shuttle would have picked us up at the house and taken us there.
The house is equipped with everything we needed and more. The beds are very comfortable. The house is spacious with fantastic views from most of the rooms. We would definitely rent this house again.

Well located custom home

We spent 4 nights at Castle Peak with friends for a milestone birthday celebration. It's well situated within North Star, within a 5 minute drive and a half hour walk to the village. The home has spectacular views of the valley and is within a half-block walk to a network of trails. What we really appreciated was access to a garage to store a large collection of very expensive bicycles brought by members of our group.

It's obvious that the owners invested quite a bit of resources in this custom home - probably in the 1980s - but it now needs a little more TLC. The hot tub wasn't working, there were cobwebs up near the ceiling (didn't bother us but we had arachnophobics in our group), and the faucet in the master bath dripped constantly (which, aside from wasting water, caused restless sleep because the bath area is connected to the master bedroom and we heard dripping all night long). Would we stay again? Sure - but I'd ask about the repairs first.

Big beautiful home with a big price

This is a gorgeous home that is exceptionally convenient for skiing since you can take the shuttle that picks you up at your door. However, if you are going to be paying this kind of price, one would expect a meticulously cleaned home with proper bed linens and finer towels. Maybe I'm being a huge snob but who likes using frayed, worn bath towels? A sad shortage of pillows in the bunk bed room. No extra sheets or pillow cases to be found. Cobwebs in every window corner in the vaulted ceilings...not easy to reach, I know, but people do notice cobwebs. Food crumbs on floor when we arrived. In the master bedroom, one of the bedside lamps was unplugged and the enormous, beautiful bed was impossible to move in order to plug in this light. So, that was strange not being able to even read a book in bed at night. But, other than the cleanliness and linen issues, it is a really, really great place and I'd stay there again. I just never got around to complaining about the problems I just described because we were having a great time skiing and enjoying the home and our families getting together. (I'm sure the rental company would have done what ever they could have to remedy our concerns but being a complainer was just not at the top of my list while on vacation.)

Thank you for your review! The Management does appreciate your comments and will do our very best to remedy this situation as soon as possible with regard to linens, towels, and crumbs. Ah yes, the cobwebs...no matter how hard we try to stay ahead of them, cobwebs can be created in a matter of hours. We do apologize if it looks like they have not been attended to, but this is one thing everyone deals with in the Tahoe region. Cleaners are diligent to sweep them away however they can come right back. We will try to stay on top of it.

Winter wonderful - perfect for families

We stayed at Castle Peak Views in Northstar over Christmas 2010 and it far surpassed all our expectations.

Thank you to the owners for allowing us to use your beautiful home to celebrate our very first white Christmas. The house was overstocked with everything we needed to prepare a Christmas feast for family and friends. We imagine that your family has created many warm memories in this house as we did with our family.

Thank you also to the team from Pullen Realty. We had a few minor issues that were addressed super fast and with a great attitude. A+ for customer service.

I would highly recommend this house for any family or combination of families. We hope to come back here again in the near future.

Castle Peak is Great/ but needs some repairs!

I've been meaning to send an email - glad to have this reminder! This is a great house - 2nd time we've stayed there. It has everything anyone could want - however.. It is in great need of minor repair attention:
1. the closet doors in the bunk room were completely off their runners & leaning up inside the closet (not safe).
2. 3 of 4 bolts attaching the chain bracket to the right-side upper bunk were gone (potentially unsafe)
3. A face/cover of one of the drawers below the lower bunk was off (nails exposed).
4. 2 of the kitchen cabinet doors has loose/unfastened hinges.
5. Many of the light bulbs were burnt out (some lamps, some overheads.
With those repairs - its still a lovely place to stay!

Tahoe Wedding

Great house and lots of room to spread out. Wonderful dining area for 10+
persons. Kitchen was recently remodeled. Teenagers & adults enjoyed the
pool table as well as the various open spaces which allowed for "escape."

Unforgettable

I loved everything about my stay here. I had a party of 10 and there was enough
bedding, seating, place settings, everything for all 10 of us. It was fully stocked with
utensils so we were able to cook tons of meals and bake all we wanted. We loved
the sauna, hot tub, keyboard, wifi, and location. It was the perfect birthday location.
The staff was very helpful when we had questions or needed anything. I wish I
could return again this year!
