Place was great! There was a nice welcome basket upon arrival (the pullen rental group was amazing to work with). The condo was clean, had open floor plan with a high end gas range / stove where we cooked all of our meals. The fireplace was great and there were plenty of boardgames available for our crew. The downstairs floors were tile and were supposed to have radiant heat - this was broken, so was really cold. No blankets upstairs for the family room/couch. Flat screen TV was nice too. The master bed had the most comfortable mattress I have slept on in years. We will be back (if they fix the radiant heat on the tile floor downstairs).

We had a slight hiccup with the parking permit, but Pullen was very helpfu. We had to start the heat ourselves but it was very easy to figure out. We had a wonderful time. The radiant heat on the first floor was so welcome for cold ski/sledding weary feet. It was clean, dust free, and very comfortable. The kitchen had all that we needed. We had such fun that we dream of buying a condo and remodeling it in a similar the same way!!!

The condo was great. I can only say good things about all aspects...location, cleanliness, shuttle service, recently updated, etc. The kitchen in particular is very nice.The condo is set up well for cooking.
If I were to get picky...the fold out bed/couch is not very comfortable. Also, you may have to do some planning around showering. Hot water seem to last through about 3 normal legnth showers at a time. Not a big issue for us but worth noting.
Overall - 4 of 5 stars.

My husband and I went up there with my brother and a friend. The size of the condo was perfect for us, nice and cozy and very modern. It was perfect with exception of the heating system - we could not heat up the lower level properly without the 2nd level feeling like summer in the desert. And the radiant heating in the entry/shared bathroom took a while to heat up once we figured out how to work it. When speaking with Pullen regarding the heating issues, they were very helpful in guiding us thru the system.
The only other issue wwe had was with the main TV. The cable went out. Pullen was quick to send someone out to check things out, but appeared to be a bigger issue that required calling out someone from the cable company. The Tech guy mentioned that Pullen would somehow compensate us for the inconvenience, however we didn't get any offers. We ended up renting a bunch of movies to compensate for the lack of TV. The boys went to a bar to watch the game(s).

This home was so refreshing, clean, well stocked, comfortable, great location to bus, loved the decorating, If you have 2 couples the twin beds in bedrm. 2 could be hard to make into one. Would stay again, as loved especialy the babbling creek behind unit!

We stayed at Silver Strike a couple of weekends ago and loved it. The house was very clean and loved all of the updates. The house is modern, but cozy! The kitchen was fantastic. Everything we needed and more were available. We were without our kids and didn't plan to cook, but we couln't help ourselves! The location was so ideal. We could have walked to the Village if we wanted to.
We would love to bring our kids with us next time. It would be perfect for just the 4 of us! Silver Strike will be the first place that we would choose to reserve the next time we come up for a weekend stay!

the condo was nicely remodeled. location-great, rec center access-a
bonus, shuttle service-easy. and we really enjoyed our stay. we would even
probably stay again. however, as some of the prior reviewers stated, there
were a few issues that made for an inconvenient experience and that
*really* need to be addressed to allow for a comfortable stay.
the explanation to use the radiant heating is not adequate. the instruction
was to push the "sun" button upon arrival and the "suitcase" upon
departure. however, it did not result in the floors being heated. only after
we jacked up the thermostat to past 75-80, did the radiant heating turn on.
but it took a couple days to really figure it out.
even worse, while there are separate thermostats downstairs in the 2
bathrooms, they only control the radiant heating and do NOT control the
heat. it was FRIGID downstairs because the thermostat that controls the
heat for the whole house was upstairs. of course heat rises, and with the
fireplace/heat, if it was perfect and comfortable upstairs the heat would
never come on downstairs. the only way we could make the heat come on
downstairs would be to open the windows upstairs and make it cold
upstairs. for most of our stay, we all slept upstairs because there was no
way to remedy the situation.
if there is a solution, it should be very clearly outlined in the condo booklet,
because we are all professionals with advanced degrees, and we were
unable to find a way to make the heat stay on downstairs. or perhaps a
simple solution: provide electric heaters for the downstairs bedrooms.
we also found a lot of stains on the linens. not only on pillows/sheets, but
towels as well. there was also dried jam/ketchup spots on the dining table
and other stickiness on the coffee table/end tables. they had clearly not
wiped anything down. we also caught over a dozen spiders. not that we
minded spiders-but i note because of the manager's response to a prior

The complication with the heat reminds us that not everyone is from a cold climate and is not familiar with higher elevation heating systems and floors. We will be working on a user-friendly guide to assist guests with the heating systems that are in place at Silver Strike. The heated floors have been a main feature that everyone enjoys. It is a known fact that bugs live in Tahoe. Pest control is an ongoing service in the Tahoe area. Homeowners know that a pest control maintanence plan is perfect in controling the "bugs." Now that spring is in the air the pest control companies shift into their next control phase. This phase minimizes anything crawling. Thank you again for bringing your concerns to our attention.

We enjoyed the Silver Strike because of its modern designer finishes--
stainless steel appliances, hardwood floors, automatic gas fireplace,
entertainment system, heated bathroom floors, halogen lighting, and wireless
internet. Clearly, the owners have excellent taste and are not interested in
roughing it while at Northstar!
The location was excellent, just two blocks from the village with convenient
shuttle service. We also took full advantage of the homeowners association
access to the pool, spa, and gym.
Constructive feedback: owners should clean out the dryer lint exhaust (fire
risk), as clothes dry very slowly and this is the likely cause.

Fireplace not operable; Property manager repaired promptly; yet stayed for an hour and a half to document & rewrite the entire instruction manual for entertainment center because it was absent. Hot water insufficient for a standard shower of one. Drapes difficult to open & close due to poor hooking device. Heaters did not work in either bathroom, so they were very, very chilly. When steam formed in bathrooms, the halogen lighting fixtures would no longer work. Profile listed bbq grill, none present. Dryer did not work properly. Read more
We responded immediately to a call about the gas fireplace not functioning and repaired the remote control sensor that activates the fireplace. It took a while to repair. At this time we found the stereo system was not working properly either and corrected that so the guests could enjoy the stereo, CD's & DVD's in surround sound during their stay. After repairing the system we asked the guests if it would be fine to take test everything properly and make some new notes so the house instructions could be updated. They were very appreciative and allowed us to take the extra time to do this update. We sent an electrician out between reservations to replace the dimmer switch that was causing the lights to no longer function. The hot water tank tested fine and the radiant heated floors are currently being tested. This remodeled modern condo is in great shape!

Loved the interior and and the contemporary design. It's absolutely unique
this way. The kitchen was incredibly well appointed and it was a joy to cook
and eat there. The fireplace was cozy and so nicely warm. The rug was in
front of the fireplace and all the bedding was absolutely wonderful. We truly
appreciated and enjoyed all the attention to detail.
Unfortunately we had to turn off the heating at night. Every time it came on
it was really loud and woke us up. So we had to turn it off. The floor heating
didn't work at all. And the cleaning service before us was awful. Lots of
dust everywhere and I collected 10 spiders in the bedrooms in the first two
days! And there were stains and hair on the sheets. So the owners are
definitely being cheated out of a good cleaning service here.
We were happy with the price for the 6 days we stayed there, but it seems
when we tried to book it for subsequent stays, the pricing fluctuated widely
and willy nilly. Makes me want to consider a hotel again because of their
more predictable pricing structure. Read more
We appreciate the comments for any house concerns and strive to improve. We have discussed the issues with the owner and are looking in to a pest control service as well as had a technician in to figure out the heating problem. The floor heating is operating properly, but will not activate if the room has already reached the desired room temperature. The cleaning crew has also been notified and has now started to implement a checklist for cleaning to ensure all the cleaning tasks have been done and to inspect all linens for stains.
