We went en masse as a family, grandparents, sister, husband and daughter aged 5 and my own husband and son whose a lively 8 year old. The villa was at the top of the hill, next to the church and monastery - an absolutely stunning view and luxurious villa awaited us. I cannot express who truly stunned we were with the main house, two exceptionally large bedrooms awaited, the lounge was so grand you almost wanted to curtsy as you walked in the room. The additional two bedrooms are annexed and ideal for grandparents (or another family).
We lay by the pool and watched the impressive display of storks, eagles and buzzards above us. We visited the local Roman ampitheatres, followed local horsemen gallop through the streets singing medieval songs and dined al fresco every night. The children were old enough to keep themselves occupied collecting lemons and making homemade lemonade, although teenagers might find the lack of nightlife disappointing. Please also be aware not to get a large rental car as the streets, at times are very narrow. Our 75+ parents are fit so found the hill walking from the square no issue but be warned this town is cobbled so don't bring stilettos.
This is the real Spain, untainted by tourism - you feel as if you've gone back in time - things move really slowly (including waiters!). We loved everything about this villa and would recommend anyone with an interest in architecture, history and simplicity to visit. -

Trujillo is a truly magical and unique town which was matched by Casa de los Moritos. Perched on top of the town, with the most spectacular sunsets imaginable, the casa and its terraced gardens was the centre for a holiday that we will never forget. It is the perfect base to explore from and also a wonderful family retreat where we could all relax away from the hustle and bustle of daily life back in the UK. Nobody can decide whath we liked best - the pool, the gardens, the hidden location, the people of Trujillo . . . unfortunately you have set the bar rather high for future holidays. Thank you for a wonderful week and we very much hope to see you again before too long.

The presentation and equipping of the property is excellent and the personal attention and friendliness adds tremendously to the enjoyment. Being so central to Trujillo and its magnificent history add to the great pleasure of the visit. In the grand scale of properties and locations one remembers and would want to return to in a lifetime, it figures very high on the list!

The villa is stunningly situated, luxurious, spacious and perfect for an extended family. The kitchen, games room, pool and beautiful patios have everything you could want. Although the weather was not very kind, the log fires were just great. The town of Trujillo has lots of character and interest with many excellent restaurants, historic buildings and festivals going on. The region itself has lots to offer for great day trips. Parking at the Villa is easier than it looks on your first navigation through the one-way system.

The property was delightful and much better than expected, beautifully laid out with the most spectacular of views. Enough utensils, crockery and cutlery in the kitchen to cater for a very large party and a gas barbaque (great on warm nights) all with a delightful maid and gardener daily. If you don't wish to cook every evening it is a short walk into Trujillo with many great restuarants - we ate in 7 different ones and enjoyed them all.

CumbriaWhat a lovely discovery Trujillo is!

I think Extremadura is exceptionally interesting. I loved going to Caceres, for
instance and exploring Trujillo itself. The relationship of the house to the town
is ideal for young teenagers. It gives them just the right sense of freedom but
security, i.e. the ability to drop down into the town on their own and make
their own way back. That can also be balanced with a nice relaxing holiday for
adults in a house that exudes quality and comfort from every stone.
