    Additional Location Information

The AMANITA Guesthouse is situated in a truly privileged location between mountain and sea on the eastern slopes of Mt. Pelion in the genteel village of Tsagarada in the Prefecture of Magnesia.
Behind it soars Mt. Pelion, ancient home of the Centaurs; a mountain much sung of; a mountain where the trees cast deep shade and countless springs bubble forth. Gazing outwards from the Guesthouse one sees the blue of the Aegean Sea, spotted with the islands of Skiathos, Skopelos and Alonnissos. All around is the verdant countryside of Tsangarada with its renowned paths, centuries old trees, old stone fountains and bridges.
We aim to ensure that the AMANITA Guesthouse is the ideal Mt. Pelion holiday destination, where the friendliness and cosiness of a traditional home is combined with the amenities any good hotel has to offer.
For those of you looking for something more than just a charming, traditional place to stay, we offer:
    • Genuine Mt. Pelion hospitality
    • A gastronomic tour of this charming mountain
    • Walking tours around the forest of the Centaurs where you can collect fruits, nuts and herbs.
    • Seminars where you will learn to identify collect and cook mushrooms.
    • A tour of the region's beaches with their emerald green waters.
    • Treks along the mountain's stone pathways.
We attach great importance to local cuisine. That's why they breakfast we serve includes hand-kneaded bread, home-made jam and local specialities such as pies and herby omelettes.

      A room with the view

Left on 05/03/2012 for a stay in July 2011

The location of this B&B; is ideal - overlooking the sea, close to the mountains, in a rural environment and close to a small forest which paths lead to the village. It's a lovely old building that has been beautifully refurbished and decorated. The rooms are well designed, with lots of thoughtful finishing touches. The room where we have stayed (room Io) was delightful in both design and comfort: beautiful view to the sea and Sporades, comfortable bed (maybe too little for tall people), tastly furnished in Greek style. A comfortable modern bathroom was attached to the room.
Great service is all about exceeding expectations. In the hospitality world, that means making guests feel "at home" and being eager to come back again.
Breakfast is good and started each day with an exquisite featuring varieties of organic jams self-made, cut cheese and fruit, different types of bread, pitas, eggs. You do not need any lunch after such a breakfast!!!
Last, and perhaps best, Filaretos provided us with stories and information, giving appropriate touring suggestions.

A gorgeous week-end on Pelion - The Guesthouse amanita

Left on 03/10/2012 for a stay in April 2011

Amanita is a very friendly and comfortable family - run hotel in the village of Tsagarada, one of the most beautiful places in Pelion. The rooms and sitting areas are decorated with unique taste. Breakfast was included in the price and was delicious, with home- made bread and pies, organic jams, omelets e.t.c. 5 minutes by car from the fantastic Mylopotamos and Fakistra beaches. Perfect hospitality from the owner Filaretos, who was always in our disposal. We had a very nice time and we would certainly stay again in this hotel. We also will recommend it to friends and relatives. Thank you for your good work and hospitality Filaretos!
