Tucson Travel Resources

Located in southern Arizona, Tuscon is one of the state's most visited cities. Rich in heritage, Tucson was founded centuries
ago and still maintains many of the traditions of its founders. Today, Tucson is home to a blend of American Southwest
culture and traditional heritage, making it a unique destination for all travelers.
Tucson's desert setting offers natural beauty year round. Near the city, the Santa Cruz river bed, which is dry much of
the year, is a breathtaking natural attraction. Once flowing nearly year-round, the river now only makes an appearance
during heavy rains and floods. The dry river bed, however, offers visitors an interesting sight and a great photo
opportunity or picnic spot. The city is also home to many museums and educational buildings, including Biosphere 2,
a bio-dome full of plants and animals that covers more than three acres.
For those visitors interested in the city's
history, the old town is like a living museum. Many of Tucson's older features have been preserved and can be visited today.
For instance, in El Presidio, Tucson's oldest neighborhood, the Hotel Congress dates back to 1919 and the St. Augustine Cathedral was built back in 1896.
These sites are now open to visitors, and tours are offered to introduce guests to the old culture of the town.
In addition to its sites and history, Tucson is also known for its many annual events. Each February, the city holds a two-week long
gem and mineral show that is the biggest of its kind. Other events include the Tucson Folk Festival, The Tucson Rodeo, and the Fourth Avenue
Street Fair, which occurs twice each year.
