      Beautiful Terrace

Left on 04/16/2013 for a stay in April 2013

The condo is large and spacious with a large terrace located at the far end of town, off the main avenue of Tulum.

There is no security but the condo is in a locked compound with a sign informing you of video surveillance, we had no concerns about safety.

The condo is equipped for very basic use, no blender, washing machine and a mix match of old cooking equipment.
Everything we used had to be washed before use, including dishes refrigerator was not clean, sticky and stained, not all the burners on cook top worked, did not use the oven.
The kitchen garbage can was, filthy you didn't want to touch it.
No blinds on kitchen windows construction across the street, if I can see them they can see me.
The bath rooms are large but had no window blinds, you don't turn on the light at night, the construction workers across the road can see in the upstairs bath room, day or night.
Very noisy and dusty from the construction across the road.
The bath room window on the main floor faces the back of the condo and jungle area no blinds, at night don't turn on the light.

The showers are in desperate need of repair, sprays water everywhere but down, difficult to wash shampoo out of hair, clogged up and needs to be cleaned.
      The water is very hard.
Two towels in each bathroom, that's it for the week, you need to go buy beach towels.
There is a hook up for a washing machine but no washing machine, there would be no problem if you could wash the towels.
The bed rooms are spacious and have lots of storage space.
The beds are rock hard and very uncomfortable, pillows are old, flat and need to be replaced.
After the first night on the bed I had to move to the couch due to back pain, did not sleep well all week.
The garden and grounds are nice.
      The people/owners were kind.

We have stayed in other condos in the area and were very pleased, unfortunately for us, they were booked up this time.
We will not return to the Blueberry Condo the level of comfort was very poor.

      Home away from home

Left on 04/04/2013 for a stay in April 2013

First, the word “condo” doesn’t do it justice. Blueberry is a very intimate 4 building complex that belongs to a charming Italian couple. We were expecting a somewhat soulless development but instead found a Mediterranean villa with a private garden, pool, outdoor grill etc. The father of the owner and the owner’s pet dog and cat resides in one of the houses so there is almost a feeling of visiting some distant relatives. Tomaso, the warm and helpful owner who came from Rome 10 years ago and fell in love with the place, made our vacation unforgettable. With his intimate knowledge of the area we got an insider’s view and information the best places that are favored by locals and hardly can be found even here on tripadvisor. Everywhere we went his name opened for us access to great restaurants, beaches, other sites that locals are still keeping for themselves. We enjoyed the general relaxed atmosphere of the place and felt like we had a wonderful, clean and large space with a fully equipped kitchen, a lovely, quiet garden, a pool, and consistent internet access, all a few minutes’ walk to town and at a fraction of the price you would pay to stay at the beach.

      Fantastica

Left on 02/27/2013 for a stay in February 2013

Blueberry is just as advertised-beautiful condos, grounds, and attentive management of the property. The hosts were very helpful but not too pushy-perfect for us, very accommodating to our requests for information. I highly recommend this property-the pictures don't do it justice!!!

Condo was well stocked, good quality bedding, furniture, linens, towels.

      Absolutely Fabulous!

Left on 12/17/2012 for a stay in May 2012

My husband and I, along with our friends from Mexico city wanted to have a spot in town (this condo) and one on the beach. The place was spotless, gorgeous finishing (marble/ quartz)easy check-in process with the owner, she was always available if needed. The kitchen was amazing and the main reason for renting a condo was to have a kitchen at my disposal. It had everything we needed for basics, and there was a full supermarket a few minutes away (by driving), a bakery, cheese shop, fruit stand and tortilla shop within a few minutes walk. Internet was spotty. Husband was able to get enough signal to use his smartphone, I enjoyed a book instead! We never got to use the hot tub or bbq but I'm sure this would be useful for some people. Would totally rent it again and highly recommend it, if you have a car.

vorrei fosse il mio "buen retiro"

Left on 08/17/2012 for a stay in July 2012

European comfort mixed with Mexican Vitality

Left on 06/13/2012 for a stay in January 2012

My family and I spent 3 weeks in Mexico and this was my favourite spot by far! Alessandra and her family were warm hosts and took care of all of our needs pre-trip and during our stay. We were in Tulum for a wedding and rented 3 of the villas between family and friends. They were extremely spacious and well equipped. The pueblo of Tulum is a short walk away where you can experience a more authentic side of Mexico than you ever will at a resort or hotel. We would buy fresh produce from the street stand, groceries and drinks from the grocery stores and cook in the beautiful kitchen sitting down for family meals in the large dining area. There were also many great restaurants and bars in town within walking distance. In the late evenings you can visit the town square for street food and experience the pueblo culture of Mexico. The beaches, cenotes, and ruins are short cab rides away. After long days of exploring coming back to Blueberry was like coming back home. Also free wifi. I hope to stay here again and experience the best of what the Yucatan has to offer.

Not very comfortable, poor customer service

Left on 04/30/2012 for a stay in March 2012

Arrived, exhausted, and 4 taxi drivers later finally found the place (after the cab driver called the owner a couple times to confirm the location). The property is on the edge of the town and not where my map places it. I was so relieved to get there I did not notice until the next day the place was not very clean. woke most mornings to the steady thumping of jackhammers as there is construction happening somewhere nearby. My first encounter with a scorpion on the morning of day 3 in the tub while taking a cold shower (yup, no hot water). Also noted the very hard mattresses and longed for a foam mattress. Bitten all night as there were no mosquito nets and the wind kept blowing the screen doors open (which, I suspect, is how the fleas entered via the family dog). To town for some mosquito repellant but still have red bumps showing up. Much to my dismay, a week into my stay and I discover I have contracted fleas. I happened to notice one jumping off my leg and captured it for a closer inspection. Bring this to the attention of the owner and am met with considerable hostility and an accusation I brought the flea from another location (good grief!). Nice! Get the place fumigated and am on the hook for a very noisy stay in a local hostel since I have not been informed what chemicals were used or the health risk of skin contact to those chemicals. No phone or TV so every trip to town is a hike to get to the road to flag a taxi. Bring your own car! By the second last day I abandoned the place to stay in Playa Del Carmen for at least one comfortable and enjoyable night in Mexico. Spoke with the owners 5 times; once upon arrival, once to get water delivered (thanks Tommaso), once to complain of the fleas, once to get the local doctor to examine the flea bites, and once in passing to leave. Generally a disappointing stay with very poor customer service.

My cousin and I found the condo an easy walk to town and even easier access to the highway where the collectivos pass. You'll need to get a cab to the beach though. The terrace was our favorite spot, spacious with comfortable non plastic outdoor furniture. The grounds are gorgeous and the small pool is perfect for cooling off. We spent a relaxing week and would rebook in a minute. There is no tv so bring reading material.

      Italian villa in tulum

Left on 03/18/2012 for a stay in February 2012

I was staying with friends who were renting a house on the beach in Tulum. We had no a/C, limited electricity so no fans/lights at night, not enough water pressure for showers and then the gas ran out...so no coffee! I took my baby daughter and came to stay with my sister here at Blueberry. I couldn't believe it - it's like a beautiful Italian villa in the middle of this Mexican pueblo. A/C, fans, clean floors, beautiful grass, large patio doors in each room that lead to outside and great, hot showers!

This place is absolutely fantastic. My only fear is that the secret will get out and it won't be available next year when we come back.

If you stay here, you need a car to get to town and the beach.

      Wow! Blueberry is wonderful!

Left on 03/09/2012 for a stay in February 2012

For the whole month of February we stayed at Blueberry condos. My husband and I know Tulum very well and know many of the hotels there but had never been or seen Blueberry condos before this trip. We have 2 children, aged 3 and 1 and needed a kid-friendly place. I also needed a place that had internet as I was going to do a little work.
The photos looked very nice, but I was skeptical that the place wouldn't look like that when we got there. But it did! It did! Blueberry condos is beautiful. Everything is in pristine condition. When you walk into the place you feel as though you are entering a beautiful garden, a paradise. The condos are beautifully designed. The rooms are spacious; everything is very clean and neat. The condos come with everything you need in the kitchen to cook something up, there is a cd player for music and a beautiful bathroom with a huge tub! On top of it, Tomaso was a wonderful host. He and his wife are really are not intrusive, they are so polite and just want to make sure that you have everything that you need.
I have fond memories of our stay. In the morning we found ourselves enjoying the large terrace with a cup of coffee while the kids ran around. Also, they have added a small gate around the pool which was great for the kids. The kids loved the pool. Again, just like everything else here it was always very clean and pretty. They also have an outdoor bbq for you to use so one night we had a great bbq. At night we would go back on the terrace and check out all the stars with some wine. Each room had aC and fans, but we found that the fans kept us really comfortable at night.
Also, the internet was very fast and I was able to work very easily from there.
I have stayed in a many places in Tulum and this is one of the nicest places. We were there for a month and I really don't think that we could be happier with our choice. No, it is not on the beach, but for us, it didn't matter. We went to the beach everyday and when we were done, we came home to a wonderful home. We will go back to Blueberry. Highly recommend!

Spacious, secure, clean , nicely furnished and landscaped, well

Left on 01/23/2012 for a stay in December 2011

We stayed for nine days here and really enjoyed ourselves. For foodies this place is well equipped with quality kitchen appliances, sharp knives and even an electric expresso maker. In addition you are within walking distance of a great fruit and vegetable market that also sells their own cheese and recado pastes as well as a supermarket for everything else you could want. The whole place is spacious and well furnished and there is a large patio with comfortable patio furniture. The complex is walled and gated for security and there is a night watchman as well. This was nice so that we could let the grandchildren run around the gardens without worrying. The pool is big and deep and fenced off although the pool gate could do with a better locking device as my 5 year old grandson was able to open it without too much trouble. There is air conditioning and king size beds. The water pressure isn't great upstairs and the hot water runs out quickly so to fill the lovely jacuzzi tub in the master bedroom you have to be patient and run the hot water until it's finished a few times. When we arrived everything was clean and there were fresh flowers on the table and a huge bowl of fresh fruit on the side. There is no TV and no phone (we didn't miss these ) but the wifi is free and excellent. You can walk five minutes and get a taxi to the beach for 20-30 pesos (or anywhere really) and you are a 15 minute walk from the bus station and the collectivo stand. The owners are helpful and informative and being a few blocks off the main road it is relatively quiet and peaceful. There are stairs to the condo and it is on two levels so if stairs are a problem for you you would have to consider this. We would definitely stay here again.

      Fabulous Condo in Paradise

Left on 01/08/2012 for a stay in December 2011

My partner and I stayed at the Blueberry Condo from December 11-25, 2011 for our holidays and this place was an absolute hidden gem. The condo was spacious and huge with two bedrooms/bathrooms completed with white marble flooring from top to bottom. The kitchen was absolutely marvelous with top of the line appliances and it was fully equipped with amenities/utensils. This place was beautifully appointed with sophisticated and modern furniture. We loved the minimal look of place and it has everything we needed as if we were home away from home. Each room as it owns remote operated a/C and both bedrooms come with remote operated a/C and ceiling fan. The patio was absolutely massive and completely furnished. We took advantage of the huge furnished patio each and every day to relax and sometimes have breakfast, dinner, or just slump around at night time.

The condo was in a gated complex and we always felt save and secured. It's close enough to centro Tulum to walk, but we rented bikes and rode around everywhere, including the beach.

This place is absolutely stunning and I would highly recommend to anyone thinking of going to Tulum, but wanted a luxurious accommodation without breaking the bank.

      A well hidden gem !

Left on 12/23/2011 for a stay in November 2011

We stayed fro four night and was suprised by the wonderful secluded garden.
At the time we were the only visitors and our kids could enjoy the garden as if it was there own.
The garden, the condo and hospitality is first class.
The only thing missing from the description was a TV but we really did not miss it at all.
We received an address from the booking site but this was not recognized of the local taxidrivers but directions given over the phone made it easy to find.
It is a delicate designed condo on a side street that is more like a dirt road but don't that scare you away !!
Our mistake was that we only stayed for four nights... there are so many things to be seen around Tulum so it will be longer next time !

I think this was the best choice we can ever done to stay in Tulum, the suite is very beautiful, luxury, clean and everything looks new; the bedrooms are very spacious with comfortable beds, the kitchen is very luxury and functional, the bathrooms are nice too, Alessandra and Tomasso are very gentle and great hosts. I don't hesitate to recommend this vacation rental, we are going to back the next year definitely for the Xel-ha Triathlon 2012. The only "bad" thing was the TV, there was none !! :( the place is too quiet and comfortable that sometimes you just want to stay there watching a good DVD movie.

Left on 06/19/2011 for a stay in June 2011

A very good, spacious, brand new building with excellent house units.
Huge bedrooms and bathrooms, good air conditioning everywere; everything is new.
Alessandra and Tomasso were excellent managers.
It is close to town but far from the main road so it is paceful and silent.
There is an absolutely clean pool with a special deep area for diving training.
They also built an outdoor jacuzzi with a surprising very original transiluminated counter.
