My husband, our little daughter (6 months then) and I have been to almaviva in November 2011 and had a great time there. The place is even better than the pictures can show. The sea is just steps away, there are enough palm trees to be in the shade (important with such a small baby) and on the other side, the house is protected from the wind. Apart from a small hotel 200m further down the coast, no other people live there, so you have the bay on your own. The bedrooms are spacious, the palapa is great for hanging out and relax in the evening.
We enjoyed the snorkeling and watching little turtles as well as the evening sun above the laguna (both organized trips).
Above all the owner of almaviva and the staff are hospitality in persona. Their friendliness and provenience was the best we ever received. They arranged everything for us and made our stay perfect. Not to forget the food: it was delicious and way better than the food we ate at some of the resorts of the Riviera Maya.
We recommend almaviva to everybody looking for a relaxing quiet holiday in a great natural habitat but still having the possibility for activities such as snorkeling etc.
We will definitely come back.

the house is located in a biosphere reserve, thus there are very few close by houses,. The decor was very charming. the views were all awesome. The friendly people attending completed this experience as one certainly to be remembered. We will be back!!!
