The property called "La Rosa dei Venti" is conveniently located 3 blocks away from Tulum's Main Avenue and is a walking distance to restaurants and shops. It is also within close proximity to Tulum's unique archeological ruins. A lush, tropical garden surrounds three independent apartments named Levante, Scirocco and Ponente.
Casa Scirocco is a colorful bright and spacious two-floor apartment with two bedrooms, a balcony, two bathrooms, a cozy and wide living and sitting area, and a fully equipped kitchen. The big terrace and beautiful patio overlook a tropical garden where you can sit and enjoy nature. The house provides fast wi-fi, ca...ble TV and a private parking. The pleasant neighborhood has an authentic taste of Mexico, making a distinctive difference to a room in a hotel.
It is relaxing to go for a walk and enjoy a nice meal in one of Tulum's many cool Mexican restaurants, as well as Italian, French, Thai, Japanese, Argentine, Tapas bar, and others.
Tulum is very special to those who love scuba diving, because of the beauty of the barrier reef, as well as cave diving in caverns and "cenotes", and natural sweet water lakes. Also, a different astonishingly beautiful beach can be chosen every day, within a few minutes drive.
In "La Rosa dei Venti" you will feel at home with a Mexican flavor, in its friendly and colorful environment of the Riviera Maya. La Rosa Dei Venti was the perfect choice for my first vacation in Tulum. Away from the expensive glitz of the playa, the apartment had all of the amenities I needed. A well-stocked kitchen, nice shower, bicycle parking for our rented bikes, and more. Alex and Pati were wonderful hosts, and if you have a chance to take alex's snorkeling tour, do it. He also gave us great recommendations for places to eat and things to do. As others have said, the apartment is an easy bike ride to the beach (about 20-30 minutes depending on how fast you go) and you can ride to the ruins and other destinations as well. If you're looking for an alternative to beach hotels, this place is great.
I hope you will spend more birthdays in my place!
You are a great guest, thank you very much.
Come back soon.

We were a group of cycle tourists and as such had no reservation in Tulum. After a night's stay down at the beach (circa $100 a night) we decided to look in town for cheaper accomodation. We looked at the hostels but they all seemed a bit too hectic or basic. As we were a group of 4 we decided to get in touch with Francesca and were very glad we did. We ended up staying a week.
Very easy to book online and fantastic to have the neighbours alessandro and Pati on hand to help out. We went snorkelling with alessandro which was wonderful.
Good clean and airy accommodation very close to all the restaurants, shops etc and only a 15 minute cycle from the beach.
Thanks all for a great stay.
Thank you so much, David.
I hope you will came back.

Somehow we missed that this place is a duplex, but this was a definite plus in our eyes. Patty and alex and their young daughter live in the front unit and they showed us how everything worked, made sure we had what we needed and were helpful with advice and recommendations.
The kitchen is really well stocked and provides many things to make cooking easier. Under the sink area we found lots of plastic containers to store leftovers; there was foil and plastic wrap and some oils, spices and coffee filters. These are the little things that when away from home really made life easier. There was also one set of snorkeling equipment which was useful.
The two of us adults and our two children 11 and 15 were very comfortable here. Having a washing machine was essential with sweaty and wet clothes for four! The drying lines on the roof, accessible from the children's bedroom were easy to use, clothes dry quickly and you get a nice view from up there!
We were not planning on having a car the whole time we were here, but alex recommended it and we were glad we extended our car rental. Taxis are expensive as was bike rental for 4 people for 8 days. There are many places that are easier to get to in a car than by bike. There are many small stores, vegetable stands, restaurants and shops within walking distance.
We would highly recommend Francesca's place. The only things that would make it a bit better would be better ceiling fans (they move slowly)-- though alex did bring us a standing fan which helped. Also a screen in the front door would improve ventilation.

My spouse and I are in out mid to late 60's. We stayed at La Rosa dei Venti (in Scirocco) for a week at the beginning of February. It is very comfortable. We did a good deal of cooking and greatly enjoyed the upstairs balcony and adjoining flat roof. Since you are right in town, you have access to restraunts, grocery shopping with just a short walk. There is access to the collectivo and a taxi stand just three blocks away. Francesca was not there when we were, but alex (Alessandro) was great. A very helpful, articulate and positive young man with a delightful young family. If you choose to be in town rather than the hotel zone, this is a great value. The beach is a short bike or taxi ride away. The collectivo can take you to the ruins or all the way to Playa del Carmen at a very low cost. Note that there is even a washing machine in the upstairs bathroom and you can hang laundry on the clothes line on the flat roof!

My family stayed at this wonderful place during Xmas and New Years. Alessandro was very helpful and friendly. The house is very close to the to the main road of town. When we first entered, We were so pleased to encounter such an ample and clean place. It was nice to spend our evenings up in the balcony and listen to the birds in the morning. Lots of beach towels and a washing machine you can use for personal use. Highly reccomend this place if you are not into the touristy resort scene.

It was a great experience to stay in this pleasant house for Christmas holiday.
All family members enjoyed this rental (size of the rooms, comfortable beds), and all of us hope to come back as soon as we can.
Service (by alessandro) was perfect.
Best is the garden and terrace, least are the lack of some dishes like pan caps and ... mosquitoes. Read more
Thank you Michel for your review and your feedback.
I'll make sure to replace some dishes!
Hoping to having you again.

Gli appartamenti sono ben definiti. Non manca proprio nulla dentro. Puliti.

I thoroughly enjoyed my 2-week stay at Rosa dei Venti, conveniently located in the Tulum Pueblo. There is an amazing garden from which we fetched basil to season our pasta, lime to add to our smoothies, and aloe vera to soothe our skin from sun-filled days. Francesca, the owner, shared with us her own fresh fruit smoothie creations, and even helped us find a bike to rent to ride to the beach. We loved to spend mornings planning our days on the porch, overlooked by a wonderful mosaic relief and rustling trees. Rosa dei Venti is a short walk to the ado bus station, local transport vans, and a launder, making it an ideal place to relax in between day trips to the jungle or beach.
Hi and thank you so much for your very nice review!
Beautiful what you wrote!
Hope to have you and your sister soon back.
All the best and tks again.

Two of us spent Xmas 2011 here, in the main house. We had a wonderful time! Francesca is a wonderful host, she has been in the Tulum community many years, so staying at her place was a more personal and, for us, enjoyable experience than shacking up somewhere more anonymous and touristy. The house was large, comfortable and clean; insect-free and decent bathroom, shower etc.
It´s just a little off the beaten track (10min walk to Tulum town centre or 10min taxi to beaches) but suits those seeking a bit of seclusion perfectly. We enjoyed our mojitos on the roof terrace :)

As I said in the title of my review, there's only one word to describe my stay at "la Rosa dei venti" in Tulum: magic.
The house is unique with its garden of tropical trees and flowers down town in Tulum, a good position to have a walk to markets or to do shopping, but at the same time being surrounded by plants. The flat is quite comfortable, big enough to have an every day life.
With a bike you can run 5 km to the seaside, along a bike trail and the sea and the sand are fantastic, Trip advisor reviews just explained a lot about the beautyness of the place.

Ciao a tutti

I spent two weeks at la rosa dei venti and it was not enough! The ospitality was great, the apartment clean, nice and comfortable. The garden was just a bit of paradise. The position in Pueblo is fantastic since walking or cycling you can go everywhere, even to the sea side and the cycling there is an amazing experience. The possibility to live the Pueblo daily life was interesting and relaxing... I definitely will be back very soon

Francesca, makes the atmosphere a kind and enjoyable one, The acomodations were excellent and it has a town like vibe, being that it is in town, which I like because I felt I was part of the community. 5 stars, from me.

Although our stay was too short, we had a wonderful time in Tulum. Francesca's place is right in the heart of town, and close to everything you would need. The gardens are delightful and so is the owner. Francesca is extremely helpful and knowledgeable of the area. All in all this a a nice place to stay, very comfortable.

A friendly host in a clean and tidy house, made my vacation in Tulum easier and I'd appreciate the surrounding nature and the white beaches.
The house is really confortable with a garden full of plants and flowers where you can rest. You can also feel the silence and the peace of the place, without loosing the contact with the city center, five minutes walking, where you can find restaurants, shops and fun if you like.
