Los Angeles, CaliforniaIncredible life changing experience!!

Wow. Just got home from a whole week in Tulum at the Corazon de la Tortuga villa and let me just say it was absolutely life changingly amazing. Zu is so easy to communicate with and so friendly, we emailed often before our stay. The house is incredible, so beautiful and lavish. The beach is amazing in front of the house!!! Momma turtles came up to the beach every single night to lay eggs.. The staff was great! We had a delicious breakfast every morning, and it was really affordable. I highly suggest renting a car, it is pretty much the only way to get around.. 100% worth it. The Tulum beach is the most beautiful beach in the entire world!! Must see!!
Be careful!! The beach in front of the house is a reef! Ouch!! We didn't know at first and it hurt our feet. After we put on shoes it was good to go!! Thanks Zu! We will be spending another week+ at your villa soon!!! -

We stayed at Corazon de la Tortuga for an extended period of time (January to March 2012). We had previously stayed at this property and returned because it is simply the best in the area. The grounds are beautiful, the house is decorated and maintained to a high standard, the beds are sublime, the kitchen is gorgeous and the service is impeccable. The Tulum area is an up and coming hot spot for travel with excellent restaurants, amenities and a very laid back charm. Corazon de la Tortuga is an excellent base for exploring the area - it is centrally located to both Tulum and akumal, the ruins of Tulum and Coba, adventure parks, snorkelling and diving. There is even a beautiful cenote located a 10 minute walk from the house! This property is truly the most well appointed and luxurious rental in the area. A stay here will be remembered for a lifetime!

We have been to this area before and wanted to stay longer and rent a house, so I got online and started the search. Corazon De la Tortuga was my pick and wow what a nice surprise. Zubet the manager had a welcome basket of different fruits and a bottle of red and a bottle of white wine waiting for our arrival. Well, it was all that we hoped it to be. We were right on the Caribbean and wow...what a view. There were turtle nests out there and were there to see about 50 or more turtles making their way to the water...what an experience. The owners of the house are very eco friendly and take measures to protect the turtles, which is nice and we respected the rules they provided. We know that October is off season and can be rainy, but we didn't seem to have much or that it was a problem. We were about 5 miles from the town of Tulum where you can find many restaurants and shops and then maybe a mile west of town are the beaches of Tulum where there are other places to eat and drink and have the most beautiful white sand beaches. The people are sooo friendly and most speak some english. There is so much to do if you enjoy nature and with Hidden Worlds and Dos Ojos being so close you can spend hours snorkling/diving and other adventures. There are a few restaurants on the same street as the villa, but I would stay clear of Casa Cenote unless you want to over pay for average food. Anyway, our experience was just want we needed and it was sooo relaxing being away from crowded cities like Cancun and Playa Del Carmen...which is fun to visit for a day/evening. Mucho thanks to Corazon de la Tortuga owners and Francesca the maid and Roberto the pool/everything else guy. Btw we were there for Hurricane Rita, which never hit, but the owners did everything they could to make us comfortable. Way to go and we can't wait to return next year.

Chicago, IllinoisBeautiful views and luxurious accommodations
Left on 06/10/2011 for a stay in March 2011
We stayed at Villa Corazon de la Tortuga with my husband and three young children, as well as my sister and her husband. The two stories was ideal for multiple families and was very spacious. The villa itself is amazing, a true luxury villa. The views are breathtaking. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We hired the chef through the villa owner for breakfast every day and most dinners. Antonio and Jose were the best part of our stay. Their meals were freshly prepared and delicious. The price was reasonable and equivalent to eating out at restaurants, but with the comfort of home.
The location was a little farther from the Cancun airport than we realized, however the drive was fine and we felt safe traveling the round-trip. We were close to Tulum with the most amazing beaches and 10 minutes from the most amazing Eco-Park, Xel-ha which I highly recommend.
The villa owner Zubet is very nice and was always available for any questions. We were a little worried about security, but once we got there, we were very comfortable with the area.
The only downside to our stay was that the beach was not very kid-friendly. It is not a swimmers beach and the sand and surf are quite rough. However, it is great for shells and crabs, which my kids loved collecting and catching. And the beautiful beaches of Tulum are a short drive away.
This villa is perfect if you plan on renting a car, want luxurious accommodations with a lot of space for a reasonable price and don't mind driving to another beach to swim. -

We had a fabulous time at Corazon De La Tortuga, what an outstanding home in an amazing location! We were looking for a place to stay with my family and we could not have found better accommodations or service. My husband and I have traveled to Tulum many times over the years and on this trip we were coming with our 2 young children. We were looking for somewhere a little less rustic than we have found in the past. Corazon De La Tortuga is simply sublime. The house is absolutely beautiful inside and out. The bedrooms are stunning, each with a master bath, and the beds very comfortable. The kitchen is a fabulous place to cook for those who love to cook( and those who don't). Zubet, our host handled all requests with grace and panache. We wanted a chef for several evenings and I was looking for a good massage(those kiddies can run you ragged) and she delivered outstanding services! The meals were excellent and I may have had the best massage of my life (thanks Juan!). When we did cook, Francesca the lovely housekeeper was there to help us clean up. The pool was fabulous and perfect for a dip any time of the day. The beach is 10 steps from the door and turtles came and laid eggs right in front of the house during our stay. The entire experience was just excellent! My only complaint is we could not stay longer, but I guarantee we will be back!

Left on 03/22/2011 for a stay in April 2010
We rented the villa Corazon de la Tortuga for a family reunion in april 2010. It is about an hour south of the Cancun airport. The car rental was quick and efficient. Directions were clear and it was an easy trip to the Villa. Pay attention to the landmarks or you'll miss the turn off the main highway.
The Villa was marvelous. We were greeted by ZuBet and her staff and felt immediately welcome. Throughout the week they were available and catered to our every needed, including special menu requirements, and planning sightseeing trips.
The rooms were large, well decorated, and comfortable. Each with a different decor and large private bath. There is a well equipped work out room. A modern kitchen. And a party area with grill on the roof. Night time on the roof is something very special.
Despite my expectations, we had no problems with the TV, Internet access, or phone services.
We did snorkeling trips both in the Gulf and in cenotes (there's a beautiful one just down the road). Excellent. Highly recommend both. Or, you can just hang out by the pool.
We were conveniently located to tour the ruins at Tulum and Chichen Itza. Both were fascinating trips.
Tulum, the town, offers many shopping opportunities. Expect the locals to be more friendly and less aggressive than in many Caribbean locations. Still it helps if someone can speak Spanish and normal awareness of your surroundings is just common sense.
Would highly recommend ZuBet, her staff, and this wonderful location for your next vacation. -

Santa Monica, CaliforniaPerfect Place for a Special Celebration
Left on 03/18/2011 for a stay in May 2010
My family and I rented Corazon de la Tortuga for a special birthday celebration and it was the perfect location to gather everyone. The house is just gorgeous with a beautiful pool and it is literally just steps to the beach. I’ve spent quite a bit of time in Mexico and no place even comes close in terms of beauty, privacy and luxury. It’s an easy drive to Tulum, Puerto Morelos, Playa del Carmen and even if you want to spend time in Cancun. You are completely out of the “tourist trap” destinations so prices are cheap in town for dinners, not that you’ll want to leave the house – the in-house chef was awesome and worked around all of our dietary restrictions. The kitchen is deluxe but opt for the chef, it’s totally worth it.
Zubet, who runs the place, knows the area like the back of her hand and was super helpful when it came to planning day trips. She even arranged for my grandfather to take an all-day fishing expedition with a good friend of hers. You don’t get service like that at an all-inclusive. She even secured a mariachi band for our birthday celebration! The videos from that night are priceless.
There’s a great little, locally owned bar and restaurant within walking distance (for those nights when you want to go out but don’t want to drive) and it’s right across the street from an amazing cenote that goes on forever, scuba and snorkeling is possible there.
The rooms are luxurious, each had a separate bath and there was maid service every day so you don’t even have to clean up after yourself. There’s purified water for drinking though I had no problems at all brushing my teeth with the tap water. And you have to see the roof. Zubet said that she’s arranged for massages and that people often do them on the roof. The view is unbelievable. A great place to have a glass of wine after dinner and watch the sunset. There’s a gym on the second floor but we never used it – we were too busy exploring the area and swimming.
As I said, I’ve traveled through a lot of Mexico, up and down both coasts, and Corazon de la Tortuga is truly a one-of-a-kind experience. We weren’t there to see the turtles nesting but I am dying to get back down there to see it. They actually lay eggs on Zubet’s beach and apparently, if you want, you can actually help to save the babies if they hatch while you’re on vacation! The only thing that landed on the beach while we were there was four hot windsurfers taking a break from their adventures but I was single at the time, so they were welcomed with open arms!
A definite go. -

Stayed in this breath taking beautiful beach front villa with my running/workout girl friends. We all had a wonderful time. The staff was great they fulfilled our every whim! From our check in meeting to check out. The chef was great, he put together a surprise dinner party that was a perfect gift for one of the gals. We had a spa day at home that will be hard to duplicate anywhere else. A great time for all of us, loved seeing the Tulum, Coba & Chichenitza ruins (thought we would broaden our horizions between margaritas and workouts at the in house gym). Near by restaurants and night life meet all our wants. Of course we found shopping and we were thrilled with the vibrant quality of the arts and crafts. The weather was amazing. The snorkeling was the best I have seen in a long time, a real treat. Good thing we have digital cameras today as my photo collection now includes many turtles. None of us wanted to leave. I will return in the summer to catch more turtles on the beach.

We had a wonderful stay. We really hope to come back with our kids and their children. The property was perfect. The only reservation we had was we were hoping to have more privacy. Zubet never once showed her head from her apartment, but the idea that someone was right there if you were out enjoying the pool as a couple. The design of having the managers quarters over looking the pool was perhaps not an ideal decision.
It is a great place to bring loads of people but we would have to think twice before coming back again as just the two of us.
