Turangi / Taupo attractions and activities are dominated by the three imposing volcanic peaks of the Tongariro National Park which tower over this pristine New Zealand adventure-land. Skiing on Mount Ruapehu and some of the most captivating mountain walks in the world including the Tongariro Alpine Crossing are located at the Cottage's doorstep.
Turangi offers an 18-hole golf course, white-water rafting on the Tongariro River and canoeing through the surrounding wetlands. Walkers will enjoy the river walkway alongside The Cottage and the many other scenic walks in the area.
An easy 35-minute drive north brings you to the tourist hub of Taupo. Here you will find excellent restaurants, cafes, shopping and many outdoor pursuits, such as fishing, boating, water-skiing, bungy-jumping and several 18 hole golf courses including the famous Wairakei International Course..
Wine enthusiasts can take a scenic two-hour drive to the superb wine district of Hawke’s Bay.

Bookings for the Christmas and New Year period, December 22 – January 4 inclusive, carry a 30 day 100% cancellation forfeit.
