Best vacation ever!! Absolutely stunning views and room to breat

Left on 02/28/2013 for a stay in December 2012

My family of 3 and our friends were the lucky people who enjoyed a fantastic stay at the Turtle Beach House during the Christmas Break. We were certainly sad to leave. The house was all that had advertised and then some. Words can't describe the views from the deck and bedrooms. The home is spacious and comfortable. It was well designed. We appreciated all the amenities it provided. Although we were a distance from town, I wouldn't have changed our location for anything. We were still very close to argueably the best beach on the island. Although Turtle Beach was basically at our doorstep, we spent most of our time at Cockleshell Beach which was only a 10 minute walk down the road. We enjoyed many an afternoon on that beach and ate at both the Reggae Beach Bar(you must hit the Lobsterfest on Friday nights) and Spice Mill( best wood-fired pizza on the beach for lunches and a great place to spend New Years Eve.) We walked back from the Spice mill on a couple of occasions with just a few flashlights and the light of the full moon. Magnificient! We always felt very safe in any area of the island. This was utmost importance as we were travelling with our 13 year old daughter. We enjoyed the zipling and snorkeling in different location.
As far as the house goes, the beds were very comfortable and the a/C was a refreshing way to cool the rooms down for sleep. The pool was a very refreshing way to cool off after a long day at the beach. There was plenty of storage for all your things and the bathrooms were spacious and well-appointed. We usually ate our breakfast at the house and then ate out when we were adventuring. The bar area and bar fridge most definitely came in handy, keeping all our beverages cool and handy. I would recommend bringing a large beach bag or two to load up for your beach time.
All things considered, we would definitely recommend this holiday rental to anyone of any age. We would love to return and we wouldn't say that of everywhere we have been.
A big thank you to Richard and his family for sharing your wonderful slice of paradise with us. Richard was always very attentive to my inquiring emails and helped to make our holiday a trip to remember. You won't go wrong with this one. Highly recommended.

      Secluded paradise

Left on 12/30/2012 for a stay in December 2012

We spent 10 days in the Turtle Beach House. This was our first time on St Kitts and we couldn't have hoped for a better introduction. The house is perfectly located near the beach, with a view of Nevis, but without the hassle of the sand. It receives a constant gentle breeze, which we prefer to using the a/C. There is ample space on the veranda and in the the pool to enjoy life from morning to sunset. You can walk easily (10mn) to the Reggae Beach Bar and to Spice Mill a bit further. Both restaurants have excellent food. The last stretch of road to reach the house is dirt, and while it was easy enough with a regular car, I would recommend getting an SUV or small 4x4 for more comfort.

Outside of the house, there are plenty of things to see and do on the island, or off (catamaran day trip was fun). There are plenty of other excellent restaurants and nice beaches.

I would wholeheartedly recommend the Turtle Beach House to all of my friends going to St Kitts, we had a wonderful time.

      Holiday in a tropical storm

Left on 11/13/2012 for a stay in October 2012

Vacationing in a tropical storm is a definitely an adventure. Let me start by saying we did not get to sleep in our beautiful villa until the 3rd night. First night after leaving Boston, flying over St .Kitts then spending the night walking around J F K. We arrived the next day around noon. After stopping to get some water and giving a nice lady a ride into town (Bay Rd. was a river) we advanced toward the South East Peninsula only to be stopped by giant boulders. We accessed the road and turned around. Having been to the island many times we were not unfamiliar with St. Kitts. After making some phone calls we headed to Ottley's for the night. They were so gracious and we knew what was ahead. It is always a pleasure to stay at Ottleys and we have many times. After being up 36 hours dinner and a wonderful bed was all we needed. Next morning we found about the access road to the villa, the detour sign blew away in the storm. The villa at last. After a swim and enjoying the wonderful views it was time to set out for dinner. Every place around us was closed because of the storm. The dinner at Ciao was great. Back at the villa, back in the pool and then no lights. We tried to sleep,no ac maybe, but no fan no way. The next day we realized the generator was not working properly. We loved the pool and the spectacular deck and spent a lot of time there. Spending two nights at the Marriott was not our plan but the beds are very comfortable and thy have ac. When settled into the villa it was almost time to leave. We had a wonderful time and would love to stay at the Turtle Beach House again sometime. The great things you read about the place are all true.It was a lot of fun playing in the storm and not knowing what would happen next . Wish we were going back right now. The owners were totally helpful and did all they could to give us a happy holiday and we are grateful to them. Thanks Richard and Deborah

      Wow! Best vacation ever!

Left on 08/09/2012 for a stay in June 2012

Wow! What a great vacation house. We had a great time on St. Kitts. We had almost everything we could have wanted at Turtle Beach House. The master bedroom has great a/C, but the other bedrooms were tolerable with fans and breezes. The infinity pool overlooking the ocean and across to Nevis is beautiful. There are two beaches within easy walking distance where three great reataurants sit. St. Kitts is lovely. There is pLenty to do: great golf, good food, shopping, nice people, beautiful vistas, warm water. We had a great time for a reasonable cost. Be sure to visit Carambola. For us, it was way better than staying in the big resort would have been. The car ferry to Nevis leaves from right down the road, but we didn't make it over there. We want to go back. Maybe we should have booked two weeks.

View across to Nevis. Gorgeous! Carambols Beach Club up the road a bit. FANTASTIC! Reggae Beach Bar five minutes walk.. Casual with knock-out rum punches. One of the views from Brimstone Hill Fortress View of road to South Peninsula - Atlantic left; Caribbean right.

Beautiful, secluded but within reach of everything.

Left on 07/22/2012 for a stay in July 2012

I have just returned from 2 weeks at Turtle Beach House with my wife & 2 children (9&5). The villa is superb, tastefully furnished to a standard not usual for holiday rental properties. It is clear that this is also the owners 'home away from home'. The property is located metres from Turtle Beach which is lovely but suffers from severe seaweed issues at this time of year (July). This isn't a problem as the delightful Cockleshell Beach is within 10 minutes walk.
Everything you could need is supplied, including wifi & the owner is a pleasure to deal with. If I had one request it would be to add more a/c units, particularly in the 2nd & 3rd bedrooms but this does not really detract from the fact that this villa is a delightful place to stay and relax. Thoroughly recommended.

Beautiful property with the most stunning views!

Left on 11/29/2011 for a stay in October 2011

I recently stayed at 'Turtle Beach House' in St. Kitts with my family and had an amazing time! The villa is spacious (3 bedrooms but can sleep up to 8.) The property has the most outstanding views and the infinity pool overlooks the ocean with views of Nevis beyond. The outside terrace and garden are perfect for sundowners or dining alfresco! Alternatively a few minutes walk away is one of the best restaurants on the island. It is advisable to hire a car as the property is roughly half an hours drive from the airport. It also gives you the opportunity to explore the island and everything it has to offer
The owners were very attentive before and during our stay and I have to say we did feel at home upon arrival. Would love to return... tomorrow!!

      Beyond spectacular!

Left on 05/11/2011 for a stay in May 2011

Turtle Beach house is lovely, furnished tastefully with a relaxed atmosphere you feel at home. This is the first time my husband and I rented directly from an owner. It was a great experience without a hitch. We did take out flight insurance as well as Travel Guard trip insurance to cover the rental of the house. It was only $96.00. I would also recommend ordering basic grocery items from Caribbean Grocery Store online. They were delivered and put away by the time we got to the house from the airport. If you need further grocery while you're there you can order more online or go to the nearest grocery store which was in North Frigate Bay toward the Marriot called Ram. If you need ice there are outdoor machines right past the Ram store on the right. You do not need to go into town for either. There is a sand road off Turtle Beach where you can walk to Cockleshell beach. Very convenient if you do not want to drink and drive. It has a few good restaraunts a great beach for sunning, shelling and finding sea glass. But get back to the house by sunset. It's amazing! Keep an eye out for the parrots, parakeets, doves, monkeys, etc. Not only would we go back to Turtle Beach House, we would love to live there full time. Don't hesitate, it's paradise!

Stunning Villa , the best location on the island of St.Kitts

Left on 09/30/2010 for a stay in August 2010

What a find!!! We simply had the time of our lives at this gorgeous house - we will definately be returning. We found Turtle Beach House to be in the best location on the South Peninsula, it is just literally across the way (less than a minutes walk) from the most fabulous deserted sandy beach where the crystal clear water meant that the snorkelling was outstanding. The house was only minutes away from some of the best restaurants and beach bars on St.Kitts, but just staying in was a pleasure as the views from Turtle Beach House were breathtaking, from sunrise to sunset and even at night time the lights on Nevis twinkled across the sea while we sat out on the huge verandah listening to the steady chirp of the tree frogs. The house had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable, comfortable and memorable. The master bedroom and verandah was probably the most romantic place I have ever stayed, with its stunning carved four poster bed and luxury ensuite dressing room, bath / shower room etc. It is a spacious, property which we found to be extremely well ventilated - we left the vents open to allow the cooling trade winds to breeze through the house day and night. I loved the well equipped kitchen, and the vibrant spacious living area. The kids loved the infinity edge pool, lilo's and the hammocks which were strung up in the garden summerhouse and on the main deck. There were plenty of books and games to occupy ourselves plus cable TV and wifi internet access to keep in touch with the outside world. I can't fault this beautiful house and wish that I were there right now - can't wait to return sometime next year!

      Turlte Beach House - Awesome

Left on 06/03/2010 for a stay in May 2010

My wife and I rented Turlte Beach House with an other couple to celebrate our wedding anniversaries in May. When we arrived we were truely please dwith the location and the views. The infinity pool was incredilbe with a great view of Nevis. The house was positions perfect for privacy. It is an excellent place to get an "all over tan".There was an outdoor shower which we used everyday. Nothing like showering outside looking at the ocean. The house had everything we needed, although most time was spent outside, on rainy days it was nice to watch hockey or a late night movie. Being the cook i loved the kitchen it had everything I needed. The Reggae Beach Bar was only a few minutes away by car and we always went there or a pre dinner drink. Frigate Bays Beach bars are only about 15 minutes by car. You will need a car as it is on the south tip of the island. We are already planning our return trip to the Turtle Beach House. Richard the owner is great to deal with and was always an e-mail away to answer any questions we had.

      A FABULOUS WEEK IN PARADISE!

Left on 04/24/2010 for a stay in March 2010

We spent our spring break at Turtle Beach and it was truly a week in paradise! The home is lovely and its location is absolutely perfect with the beach just steps away and the infinity pool just outside on the deck. Turtle Beach is beautifully decorated and is well-equipped for a very comfortable and relaxing stay. We have rented several homes and villas through vrbo and this is truly one of the most beautiful! The Wards were extremely helpful and accommodating while we were making plans and reservations, which made our stay even more special.

St. Kitts is a well-kept secret. We enjoyed all of the beaches and took a full-day catamaran sail to Nevis, which was really fun! We also drove around the entire island with a trip to the historic fort. We discovered there was no place more beautiful than Turtle Beach! We enjoyed snorkeling and, of course, loved seeing Wilbur the Pig at Cockleshell Bay.

We recommend The Beach House and Spice Mill for excellent dining and Thursday night was very fun at Mr. X's Shiggedy Shack. We had never seen a show quite like that one! Definitely a must do with children and teens!

We cannot wait for our next trip to St. Kitts and Turtle Beach - it is definitely a fabulous home in paradise!

We stayed at Turtle Beach House for a week in January, 2010. The villa is beautiful and comfortable, and well-equipped. The area which the house is in was very quiet, but if we wanted more selections of restaurants and bars Frigate Bay is a 10 minute drive away. The views from the house and deck were gorgeous! We particularly enjoyed the large deck which is partially shaded and partially in sun. We enjoyed Cockleshell Beach which is within walking distance, and the Reggae Beach Bar (fantastic Rum Punches) and The Spice Mill restaurant also on the beach. When we go back to St. Kitts, we will definitely go back to Turtle Beach House.

      An excellent vacation

Left on 01/15/2010 for a stay in November 2009

A luxurious property which is well maintained. Very efficient dealings with the owners who are quick to respond and even contacted us while we were at the property to check we were ok. In the future the poolside furniture will need replacing and may be a bit inadequate for large numbers of guests but I believe the owners will address this problem but check. If young children use the property there is no air conditioning unit in the 2nd and 3rd bedrooms which would need to be considered particularly in summer. The master bedroom is excellent and there are reasonable breezes to cool the lounge etc. We had a wonderful time in a very quiet part of the island and would highly rate the property

      A perfect getaway

Left on 07/11/2009 for a stay in June 2009

This is the perfect Caribbean getaway on as yet a largely undeveloped island. The villa has an idyllic location with views of Nevis, constant cooling breezes, proximity to the best sandy beach on the island, with the best restaurant for a dinner or lunch treat. Interesting things to do include scuba diving, a trek to the volcano, historic Brimstone Hill fortress, Saturday shopping with the cruise passengers, and a good mix of dining, but you'd be hard pressed to tear yourself away from the well-equipped villa which is perfect for complete relaxation.

Left on 07/03/2009 for a stay in June 2009

We spent a wonderful week at the Turtle Beach House this past June.
House was perfect, weather was perfect! I really think that the time of year
we picked was 100% on the mark as the beaches were not crowded- in fact I
can say that on two days we spent below the house on Turtle Beach we
didn't see anyone besides our group. Not too often can you go on vacation
and have the whole beach to yourself.
If you stay on the Southern end of St Kitts be prepared for an exhilarating
drive from the airport to your house. The scenery is simply spectacular.
Watch out for potholes and remember to drive left.
Some spots we found that are of particular interest are the Reggae Bar (say
hello to Oliver the Monkey) and the Shipwreck. Both are great for on the
      beach eating.
Turtle Beach House was everything we could have hoped for in a vacation
home. Open design and very airy. There is nothing better that a good
nights' sleep with the trade winds blowing thru the bedroom!
And special for us, being from Pittsburgh, we got to see games 5,6, & 7 of
the Stanley Cup Finals without any trouble. The cable access was great. I
think my whole family will remember fondly where we where when the Pens
won the 2009 Cup! Thanks for a great vacation- and you can surely expect
us to come back. Doug Beck

Great Family Retreat on a Quiet Beach

Left on 06/12/2009 for a stay in April 2009

My family (wife, 3 active boys aged 6, 8 and 10) recently returned from a week long stay at the Turtle Beach House. The Turtle Beach House is about 100 yards away from Turtle Beach. Our accomodations at the Turtle Beach House were ideal for us. The 3-bedroom, 2 story, southeast facing house has beautiful views out Turtle Beach to Nevis. The house was well appointed with comfortable furnishings, convenient appliances (full kitchen, laundry room) and spacious enough for our boys to separate when necessary ;-) The biggest consideration for a family staying at the Turtle Beach House is meal planning. If you want home-cooked meals, you?ll need to plan accordingly as the nearest supermarket is a 30 minute drive to Basseterre. Once you do make your meals, you?ll find great joy in eating your meals on the front porch staring out towards Nevis. If you chose to eat out, the very beautiful Beach House Restaurant is just down on Turtle Beach. The Reggae Bar is just a 1 minute drive over to Cockleshell Bay. The infinity pool was perfect -- my 6 year old basically lived in it. Overall, I really can't say enough about how nice it was to have this home to retreat to after long days at the beaches. I highly recommend the Turtle Beach House at Turtle Beach to families and couples looking for a quite home away from home.
