ArkansasFabulous views !!!
Left on 05/05/2012 for a stay in March 2012
We rented Three Cays for 11 days in March, 2012. After looking at some of the nicer resorts on Turks and Caicos, we realized that renting a villa would be a better deal for us, having a 17-year old son and a college-aged daughter with different spring breaks. We allowed each of them to bring a friend and Three Cays was perfect for us. (However, please note that there is only one bath upstairs with the two bedrooms. The bath is completely open to the master bedroom, so if you are planning on using the 2nd upstairs, twin bedroom and sharing that bath, it would only be possible with younger kids and family members.)
Although the road getting to Three Cays was a little rough, we were astounded by the views of the ocean as we walked in the front door...we have never seen more beautiful water!!! Upon inspection with our property manager, we found a few minor things that were not working and she had someone out there the next day to do the repairs.
The back porch facing the ocean was wonderful and we spent most of our time there. We had all of our meals on the porch and also enjoyed playing games or reading in the open air. The living room has a large television and stereo system, but the furniture is not comfortable and the lighting is poor for reading. The kitchen is very nice and I enjoyed cooking while having the ocean breezes coming through the windows. The house is also large enough that everyone can have their own space. Also, because of the abundant landscaping of this villa and neighboring villas, we had complete privacy.
The walk to the ocean is short and easy, and the water is shallow all the way out to the cays. Although there is no sandy beach adjacent to the property, we enjoyed walking and swimming in the water there.
One of the greatest things about Three Cays is being able to open all the doors and windows and feeling those wonderful trade winds throughout the day. It was so comfortable that we never turned on the a/C during the day time, However, at bed-time we chose to close the windows and turn on the a/C due to a barking dog in the vicinity of our villa.
Overall, we loved being at the Three Cays. We also loved Turks and Caicos so much we have already booked another villa with three other couples for next year! -

Ardmore, PAWish we could stay forever!

This was our first time to Turks & Caicos and we loved it. We've been to several Caribbean Islands and always rent a home as we find it easier with 4 children. This was, by far, our favorite home yet. It was clean, decorated beautifully, well-equipped (with linens and kitchen necessities) and so relaxing. The pool was great and the tranquil ocean even better! We were concerned that we might not be able to "use the ocean" as in years past elsewhere, the water has been too deep or too rough. This was not the case at Three Cays Villa. At low tide, my son and I explored the rocks and small beaches and found fish, seashells, starfish and sand dollars. It was just lovely.
You really didn't have to leave the house at all but with 4 kids - we wanted to mix things up a bit. The island of Turks & Caicos allows you to be isolated from people (where the villa is situated) or within a short 15 minute drive, you can be on Grace Bay Beach with restaurants, beautiful resorts and shopping. We rented a boat one day for snorkeling, tubing, fishing, to see iguanas on Iguana Island and to go shelling. We highly recommend doing this. We also took advantage of the ferry to North Caicos and drove to Middle Caicos to see the beautiful Mudjin Harbour.
The whole trip was great. There was enough for all of us to do (my kids range in age from 2 years - 9 years) and we still had plenty of time to relax because the house was so comfortable. Why the only "4 star" rating on Comfort below? My husband likes to lay on the couch and watch TV but the couch "wasn't a comfortable lay-on-me kind of couch". Even better for me - he had more time to help with the kids!!!
