Capanna Cerreto is a private country villa nestled in 50 acres of vineyards and woodlands in Chianti. This former hayloft to the Castle of Cerreto has been totally transformed into a luxurious yet relaxed country home by its decorator owner.

The unusually large hand-forged windows and doors create a light and airy three-storey villa. There are two large, comfortable indoor living rooms on separate floors along with a beautiful summer sitting area under a pergola that runs the entire length of the house overlooking the pool. With breathtaking views and gentle summer breezes, the pergola is the ideal shaded spot for friends and family to... gather for leisurely meals, conversations or drinks.

The villa has been designed with ample space to provide quiet, memorable moments. Leading off the entrance hall on the spacious ground floor is the living room with its large, open fireplace. The adjacent dining room and kitchen open onto the south-facing, wisteria-covered shaded pergola. Walk down the stone steps to the pool with a fragrant landscaped garden that offers the perfect place to relax and cool down on a Tuscan summer’s day.

Up on the first floor are three bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms. On the large lower ground level, the sunny living room is ideal for families with a flat screen TV and DVD player. There are also three bedrooms on this floor including a charming corner bedroom.

This villa, with its complementary mix of antique and contemporary furniture, old handmade terracotta tiles and beautiful gardens, makes a recommended setting from which the many gems of Tuscany can be enjoyed.

  Fabulous Week in the Tuscan countryside

  Spent a glorious week with friends in the beautiful villa. From the moment we arrived to the time we left the house manager Salvatore was there for us. Location of the villa was indecribable in the Tuscan countryside, but close enough to restaurants and amenities in the nearby village. The villa has been beautifully renovated by the owner with all the modern conveniences. Daily housekeeping was also appreciated. Although we had arranged for a dinner at the villa with cooks prior to our arrival, we really enjoyed visiting local restaurants. Many interesting towns and villages to explore in the vicinitty.   we went with our three children two (girls) are already married so their husbands came in also, our son came in with his girlfriend and he asked to married her, so it was very speciall for all of us. Also we invited one niece from Argentina. We had good wheather, the last day was a little hot and we had to use de vents at night.   We had a great time at Capanna Cerreto. The villa was spacious and well-equipped and easily shared by two families. It was central to all the major and smaller cities of Tuscany.   We loved the fresco dining and outdoor living was extremely wonderful and relaxing. The villa had all the comforts of home and Salvatore was extremely nice and helpful. He was very inviting but also concerned for our privacy as well. We took advantage of having a chef in one evening and she was very good too.   Avoid luxury retreats

  Cappana Cerreto is a cute enough house in a decent location - vineyards and winding roads, but beware the utter and total lack of air conditioning (and fans!). We booked via Luxury Retreats and it was a nightmare. Utter and total nightmare. Our party consisted of 2 senior citizens, 4 adults and 2 toddlers. We notified Luxury Retreats of all these conditions and asked for a luxury villa recommendation in Tuscany. The representative told us this was his favorite property (obviously he had not been). Upon arriving and finding the lack of a/C we notified them immediately and their first reaction was shock "Are you sure?" which then changed to "well, we never said it would have a/c" . Have you ever heard of a luxury villa, going for over $1000 USD a night, not having a/c??? Temperatures soared to over 100F and my father in law fell ill due to heat. None of us could sleep at night and we were awoken every morning at sunrise due to sheer blinds. There were also no rooms on the main level and very steep stairs leading up and down, which really worried us as we were traveling with 2 year olds. The pool was not very nice (I never entered) and the house was full of bugs (which the manager told us was bc he preferred not to spray chemical bug repellants in the house). Needless to say, our vacation was ruined by this property. Luxury Retreats offered to find us a new house, but never did. They also offered to secure mobile a/c units, which of course they never did. Upon returning, they refused to give us a refund. Horrible, horrible company with horrible service and we would not recommend staying in this house.

  Capanna Cerreto was a beautiful villa we all fell in love with. The views from most every room ofthe villa were stunning. The villa was perfectly appointed and more than met our expectations. The caretaker and housekeeper were nice and attentive. We didn\'t expect to like the villa as much and were torn between traveling in the area and just relaxing by the pool. This was our first trip to Tuscany and we did not anticipate the driving and the roads. We welcomed coming back to the villa after a full day of exploring.
