Oakland, CA, United StatesChristmas in the snow
Left on 01/21/2013 for a stay in January 2013
We arrived on Christmas Day as it was beginning to snow; the forcast had no snow in it and we had no chains! The car was snowed in for three days; therefore it was great that our cabin was two blocks from the center of town.
As always the restaurants had excellent food, and town people were friendly. I plan on returning many times to Twain Harte. -

Mountain House, CA, United StatesFarewell to Farewell Station
Left on 12/21/2012 for a stay in December 2012
It was a cute place but subpar maintenance made it a bad experience. No hot water 1.5 days, power went out, fireplace backed up into the house, treating all of out clothes for smoke, bathroom sink backed up. If you pay as much as we did, you want these things to work right.

San Ramon, CA, United StatesGreat experience!
Left on 08/12/2012 for a stay in August 2012
Farwell Station was a great cabin. Very cute. Lots of charm. Kitchen is small, but well equipped. When we arrived we noticed the first step up to the logt was broken. Our second day, we woke up and the overhead fan in the family room area was not working. I called the management company and they were great! They sent somebody out same day and it was repaired by the next day.
This cabin is walking distance from town but you'll need to drive to the lake. This was perfect for us. We walked in to town once for lunch and another time for miniature golf. We drove to the lake. Drive is quick and there was plenty of convenient parking.
All in all a great trip! -
San Francisco, CA, United StatesCheck all lights immediately upon arrival!
Left on 06/30/2012 for a stay in June 2012
The only drawback was the porch and deck lights were all out. We didn't notice until the 2nd night of our stay, so management couldn't get anyone out to address it before we left.

Novato, CA, United States23 years of renting cabins in Twain Harte
Left on 01/17/2012 for a stay in January 2012
Usually i rent a cabin near the Twain Harte Lake but since we were not going to the lake in December i decided to try one close to town.
I am glad i did. We walked to the playground each morning and we walked to breakfast at the Sportsman Cafe. It was a fun change. Can't wait to come back. Twain Harte is my favorite vacation destination. -

We had no outdoor garbage can so we had to keep our garbage inside until the day before we left-not good, but otherwise a lovely cabin and stay.

Sorry about the garbage situation - we found that their can had been stolen (along with several others in the neighborhood)! But glad you had a good time anyway! :)

Lafayette, cACould have been better...
Left on 08/18/2010 for a stay in August 2010
Good location to town. In general, cabin was unkept and dirty. Silverwear was greasy, cabin cluttered with owners belongings. Old food left in refrigerator. The deck was a saving grace. Why get charged $75.00 for cleaning if the place is dirty when you arrive?

Half Moon Bay, CACute, but small
Left on 07/12/2010 for a stay in July 2010
Tiny kitchen, very small bedrooms, and loft off steep staircase. Classic "old cabin" knotty pine panelled throughout, great decks front & rear, and just a short walk into town.

The cabin and it's location were lovely. We were visited morning and evening by deer, squirrels and birds. The area it is in is quiet and beautiful. Nice location in proximity to Yosemite and gold country. We would definitely stay there again. I think the owners should definitely post pictures of bedrooms and loft.

Not providing sheets or a washer dryer is a very large imposition. The property was wonderful, but no sheets is not a good policy
