Unfortunately two inoperable doors made it impossible to get a cross breeze to help cool down the cabin so we left a day early. Otherwise the cabin has great beds and is very comfortable.

Alameda, CA, United StatesCozy cottage in needof a few repairs.
Left on 07/02/2012 for a stay in June 2012
The house is charming; however we found a couple of problems. First, the front right burner on the stove will not ignite. Second, the rug in the living room is very slippery and a trip hazard. Third, the cold water handle in the main bathroom needs to be repaired. It simply spins and you cannot use the cold water.

Turlock, CACresta 31 - labor day weekend
Left on 09/21/2011 for a stay in September 2011
There were a few issues with the condition of the rental - huge crack inthe ceiling in the kitchen that looked Luke it could fall at any moment and the door to the master bedroom was off hinges (property management did offer to send someone out to fix
this). THVR were easy to work with and promptly returned the security deposit. We had a gret time and I would rent again from THVR. -

Forest Grove, ORCharming mix of modern and rustic
Left on 08/03/2011 for a stay in July 2011
This cabin is so quaint! I appreciated the contemporary touches in some of the artwork, furnishings (new beds!), and wall color. It also had rustic elements like paneling and an amazing assortment of birdhouses. The wrong day was listed for garbage pick up, watch for neighbors cans going out just in case. Great parking and accessibility-huge deck! A nice bonus were the baskets and shelves filled with an assortment of magazines, books and games. We spent most of our time at the lake, so we never dipped into the video library, but they had a nice selection. We would stay here again.

Pleasanton, CAJust a very basic Cabin
Left on 07/26/2011 for a stay in July 2011
The cabin was clean but NO extra anything. There was just the bare minumum amenites. Very few TV channels, no paper products or condiments had to go buy EVERYTHING at store, ie, garbage bags, soap, condiments, etc. JUST very basic cabin.

Los Altos, CABrenda needs to brush up on people skills

Brenda acted annoyed and certainly not helpful, that we called her after hours for the location of the keys after arriving after 6 pm on Friday night.
Felt scolded by Brenda "not reading the contract on page 2" Brenda also had a condescending tone when she explained the procedure for securing Lake access. Very bad PR for your company as we have many friends that have been renting in Twain Harte for decades and are always looking for new places to stay. Also we know a number of people that use your service to rent their cabins, and I'm not going to hesitate to share my experience regarding your customer relations with the renters of their property. Will find it hard to recommend Twain Harte Vacation Rentals going forward. -
Fairfield, CAGreat Layout for 2 families!
Left on 08/10/2009 for a stay in August 2009
We loved our stay in Twain Harte, and the layout of Cresta 31 was nice because it had a wing off the back of the house that was a master, w/ a bathroom that was separate from the main 2 bed/1 bath area. Also, loved that it was a single story (considering how hot it can get)! The reason for giving the mid range ranking on the "general condition" and the "clean" questions were because we were only left w/ 1 extra roll of toilet paper besides the one on the roll. Not enough for 6 people for 7 days. Also, there was no liquid dish soap, no dish towels, and no paper towels, and only 1 extra kitchen trash bag. Just not supplied well considering 6 people for a week's stay. On the cleanliness part, overall it was quite clean and nice, but there was a HUGE cobweb in the main bathroom that could not have been missed by a cleaning crew. It was "haunted house" huge, so it wasn't just a small one in the corner. Overall, a great location (very close to town for walking, and a nice 1.5 to 2 mile walk to the lake), a charming house, and a wonderful front and back deck to enjoy Twain Harte!

Los Altos, CACresta--Cabin 31
Left on 06/29/2009 for a stay in June 2009
Our visit to Cabin 31 was the first of the season and exposed some problems. First, the input water valve to the water heater had been turned off, and anyone trying to shower learned that the water flow rate and temperature dropped substantially during a shower. My husband identified and solved the problem after a few days. Also, there were virtually no condiments in the cabin when we arrived, other than an almost empty salt and pepper shaker. Generally the cabins provide some condiments and supplies (e.g. foil, plastic wrap), and we replace at least one item that is running out with a new container to make up for any small amounts we use of others.
This may also be due to the fact that we were the first renters of the season. We left some mayonnaise, foil and plastic wrap for the next renter.
The front door was hard to close--a small adjustment to the tongue plate on the door will fix this, and renters using the cabin before it is fixed should be told to pull the door slightly towards the hinges to avoid problems with closing the door.
It is not a problem now, but a few boards on the deck need to be renailed eventually to avoid a tripping risk.
On the bright side, the owners provided chaises on the deck and one chaise pad. Use of those items make up for any deficiencies. Our thanks for these--many cabins do not provide same to the renters. -
Galt, CAThe living room was...
Left on 08/21/2008 for a stay in August 2008
The living room was very hot. The front door could not be opened neither could either of the windows. So no airflow. Need to fix door or replace front window OR provide large tall fan. Also need to mention that we need to bring kitchen towels. Only one sheet was left on paper towel roll. We had to make an extra trip to the store to buy kitchen towels and paper towels. Everything else was perfect.
