The best thing about the property is its proximity to the Lake. When we arrived, the house was terribly hot - it took a long time to cool it off. I found the house fairly inconvenient, but everyone else in my group liked it just fine.

Left on 08/17/2012 for a stay in August 2012
Location was great, cabin was very short walk to lake and had great views & deck. Cabin was very rustic: doors didn't close easily, super old carpet, no working DVD player (only VHS), knotholes in pine walls of bathroom (drove my preteen daughter crazy for lack of privacy), refrigerator didn't stay consistently cold, cabin was a bit cluttered. This cabin was fine if you're looking for a "campy" experience and our families & kids had lots of fun here.

Loved Twain Harte, loved our cabin, loved our family vacation. Could not have asked for a better place to gather with the extended family. Everything was perfect, even the weather.

Our trip was great and everything was as we expected. My only comment is that the description of the cabin should include wireless access. We found it by looking in in the guest book.

Previous guests left the recycle bin full of trash, so it wasn't picked up. I complained to the property management company and they said they'd get someone to sort it, but eventually my wife and I had to dig through and separate all of it. Not the best
part of the vacation. -

Lakeside 25 had a great location with a nice deck and lots of rooms/sleeping areas. But, the exposed wiring and things that were broken or not operating, such as the fan in the living room and fridge leaking water on the floor and general dirt, including
an old plastic baby bottle with milk still in it under my bed! The house needs some finish work and repairs. My cousins were in the By The Lake 3 cabin which had a much nicer feel to it - clean and finished. -

This is our annual family reunion/vacation. There is something for everyone in Twain Harte and the cabin is perfect for our group, aged 7 to 90!

The property was a bit more of a "cabin" than I was expecting, but we enjoyed our time there and loved the location.

The cabin was a great gathering place for the family ranging in age from 6 to 88. It was close to the lake, near enough to town to walk, beautiful views, comfortable bedrooms, and wonderful deck. Kitchen was well equipped. Living room was perfect for evenings playing games and watching videos. We're returning next year, for sure.

Absolutely love this rental house. I could spend hours on the deck and in the screened kitchen nook. The way the house opens to airflow on both sides made it extremely comfortable temperature wise and the swamp cooler was very effective in cooling the place down during those high afternoon temps. We will definitely be back.

Walnut Creek, CALakeside 25 stay in 2008
Left on 09/01/2008 for a stay in August 2008
While the property we stayed in was fine, this is the first year I have been disappointed in the low customer service that THVR offered to me. (We have been staying in THVR cabins for approx. 15 years-since my daughter was a toddler). Upon check in, Margie came out of her office and didn't even recognize me or say hello-I just got a cold stare. When I asked about the Pinecrest amphitheater movie schedule I was abruptly told to go outside and look at the schedule pinned to the wall. What bothered me most was when I called the office to report that there were no more blue bags for recycling I was told to go over the the Chamber and pick them up myself. Apparently, the office didn't keep a supply and wasn't willing to bring some to me; I would think recycling bags are a part of a well-stocked cabin. I am paying thousands of dollars each summer to rent a cabin and I expect more customer service than this. There are other options for rentals in the TH area. I will definitely weigh my experiences this summer before I rent the next time.

Excellent cabin and lots of fun amenities (games, grill, stuff for the lake, etc.) Weather was perfect and we had a wonderful time.
