LoganvilleGreat little cabin on a tidal creek!
Left on 04/11/2013 for a stay in April 2013
I brought my mom and dad to this rental for their 70th birthday gift. They had never been to Tybee before and I thought this would be the perfect place to celebrate. The cabin is very clean, organized and comfortable. It has everything that we needed to eat, sleep and relax for 3 days. The tidal creek is so cool and there are birds galore to watch! The owner, Mr. Hunter is very nice and accommodating. We were in contact before our stay and he answered all my questions and even had suggestions for activities. We had such a nice time and I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone. Perfect location on Tybee because Tybee is so pedestrian friendly, you can walk to restaurants and the beach.

Asheville, NCBeautiful little getaway!
Left on 04/05/2013 for a stay in March 2013
What a wonderful little place to get away from it all. The house was clean and well stocked with the necessities. Tv reception was poor but DVD player worked well- you will not be inside watching TV much!! Located right on Horsepen creek-nice little salt marsh-big changes in tide allowed for the kids to muck in the mud at low tide. We had several nice canoe trips during high tide. If we hadn't had 2 young kids in the boat (4 and 8) we would have paddled out to Little Tybee Island-we could see it but they were too tired. Only a few blocks to the beach which is amazing-lots of tidepools to explore. Check out the Marine Science center-cool little place. Great seafood at Stingrays.
Bob is the nicest, most accomodating person in the world- he did everything in his power to make sure we had a good time. It was great to be able to have our dog with us on the trip too!! -

We love coming to Tybee and being on the back waters. It is so nice to walk out the back door and spend the day on your very own secluded dock. We were able to fish and crab at will without any disturbances. There was a constant flow of water where we didn't have to worry about being completely dry at low tide. This allowed us to enjoy the weather and fish all day long. We also had a great time kayaking and canoeing along the channels to the backriver and open ocean. Definitely an experience we cherish and look forward to having every year. Bob is very helpful and informative and will answer any questions you have regarding the area. Being it places to eat, sightsee, boat, or wildlife, Bob knows his stuff and is only a phone call away. Although the main beaches are only a short bike ride down the road, we honestly only went a couple of times because we had everything we needed on the dock. If you love a little privacy and the ability to fish out your back door, this is definitely the place for you.

Left on 02/20/2013 for a stay in February 2013
Wow!!! What an amazing time! The cottage is so clean and feels like home. We even spotted a pod of dolphins fishing while kayaking Horsepen Creek. Bob is such a thoughtful person, truly glad he's who we rented from!
If you're looking for a great family or couples vacation I highly recommend Tybee Island Vacation Cottage. It is our new home away from home. It is in a very laid back residential area with a peaceful backyard with its own floating dock and only a few blocks to the beach. So if you're in the market for a relaxing and calm getaway, this is the place!

Aiken SCTybee cottage rented from Robert Hunter
Left on 02/07/2013 for a stay in January 2013
First, I want to say that renting this cottage from Bob was very easy. It is a nice house. The water drops so you have to push a canoe over a few sand bars below his dock,to get back up the creek at low water but they are not muddy so easy to walk on. (Bob has deep water at his dock all day.) We paddled down the creek, on the out tide, and went over to little Tybee island. We then paddled up the creek at low tide this is when we hit 4 small areas that the water was to low to paddle. 20 min later there was enough water and we would have not had to walk at all. The Yard is a nice size for a family cookout and the house is very clean. You will find that the kitchen is stocked well with all you need to cook your food. It only has one bath room but the shower is large and has good water flow. There is a hose bib out side so you can wash off your gear. I would recomend you check this house out for a vacation stay. It is in a good location to the beach and easy to walk to town this will save parking fees. The sea food on Tybee is the best and not over priced. Thanks Bob for a great stay at your cottage and we will use it again soon.

Shrewsbury, MaWhat a magical place
Left on 01/24/2013 for a stay in July 2011
We spent a long weekend at this cottage that the kids will never forget! We loved the homey feel of the cottage with plenty of room for all 5 of us.It is not super fancy but clean, affordable and just right for our young family. It was so nice to be able to have breakfast "at home" and for my husband and I to be able to relax and have a drink after the kids went to bed as opposed to a hotel where we would be trapped in a room.
We still talk about the wildlife that we witnessed. When the tide was in we swam right off the dock (bring water shoes!!!) When it was out we witnessed more little crabs than we had ever seen in our lives! The pelicans and other wildlife was breathtaking, the salt marsh is just the coolest thing, something that you dont get to experience in New England and two years later my kids are still drawing on the experience.
We also loved the quirky shops along the road, and are still craving a "low county boil" from the Crab Shack which was such a fun place to eat! The kids fed crocoldiles while we waited and even my picky 8 year old ate crawfish and crab legs.
It was a fun, memorable, easy vacation that I would highly recommend. -

Our family has visited Tybee Cottage many times. Very convenient to walk out the back door and immediately behold a creek and a vast salt marsh and see nature in action(birds, crabs and fish and other wildlife). Photo opportunities are many.
Bring/rent a canoe or kayak and launch right out the back door in the creek from the floating dock.
Sipping coffee on the dock in the early am and late afternoon is nice.
Overall a very nice experience! -

Left on 01/20/2013 for a stay in October 2012
Our visit was wonderful. The location was perfect because of easy access to the beach and the salt marsh behind the cottage. There are also some very nice eating establishments nearby, as well as a seafood market. The kitchen was well furnished with more than enough kitchenware, if you're in the mood to cook.
There were only the 2 of us and our little poodle, but there was enough room to sleep at least 6 or more. Even though dogs are not allowed on the beach at Tybee, we still enjoyed having Candi with us. We enjoyed walking her out to the floating dock to fish or to watch the birds. We also enjoyed strolling the neighborhood with Candi.
There is a large closed in porch at the back of the cottage where we enjoyed sitting and eating our meals.
The rental process was managed in a professional and gracious manner by the Hunters. We will definitely keep this Tybee vacation cottage at the top of our destination list. A special thank you to the Hunters for a wonderful visit to Tybee Island.

Owner
Hi Jane, Bob, and Candi,
Glad you had a good time. Since we know Candi, I figured she'd have fun. Lots of new smells in marsh country for her to sort out.
Need to correct a couple of minor facts. While the cottage is reasonable size, 1000 ft/sq, we only have beds for 4 so our occupancy limit is for 4 guests.
The “back porch” is actually part of the cottage with central air and heat (ie not a screened porch). It does have two large picture windows which look out over the marsh and creek. If you look at the photos on Flipkey, it’s listed as the “den/dining area”.
Thanks for your visit, Bob Hunter
