Description from the manager
8 steps take you to the main level where the decor, in soothing blues, greens, and white, lets you know you are at the beach. The tiled first floor with an open kitchen/dining/living area opens to a comfortable porch. There is room for six at the dining room table and 3 can sit at the kitchen bar...or move dinner to the screened porch table. The wet bar and ice-maker in the living area and the fully equipped kitchen make entertaining a "breeze". The bedroom on this level has a king bed, and a bathroom with a double vanity, a tub and shower combination, and a separate shower. In addition, there is a laundry room with a washer and dryer, and a...Read more

KansasLoved our week on Tybee
Left on 07/28/2011 for a stay in July 2011
This home is very comfortable and decorated in a great beach motif. We had plenty of room to spread out and loved the two different porches. The kitchen is well stocked with pots and pans. No shortage on towels. The home was very clean as well.
This home sits at the south end of Tybee, which we enjoyed. This townhome is the second home back from the beach and you have to cross two dunes to get to the beach. The beach area was quieter and less crowded than the central area which we liked. The one complaint about the beach was the abundant amount of jellyfish!!! They were everywhere and my husband was stung twice! But, that has nothing to do with the home, just the time of year.
We have rented other houses in other areas of the country and I would say that we were surprised that this home didn't have any basic staples in the kitchen to use. We have felt very comfortable using the salt/pepper/sugar/oil in other homes in the past and often leave a few staples behind to. But there were none here. There were a few sand toys in the garage for the kids to use, but we had to go and buy everything else we wanted to use on the beach (boogie boards, chairs, cart to get stuff to the beach). Which, being from ks we don't have much use for it here. We thought that some of that would have been available at the house.
In all, I would recommend this home to a family looking for a comfortable home on Tybee Beach!

Marietta, GAA fantastic location with average accomodations.
Left on 05/30/2011 for a stay in May 2011
The proximity to the beach was excellent. Inside the home was overall average at best. Carpet was worn and soiled. Lock on front door was extremely challenging to operate. Needs replacing. One TV in 3 bdrm home was below expectations. A TV should be in living area and 2 out of 3 bedrooms, minimum. Overall interior appointments are ready to be updated. It was apparent that the owners take pride in their home however its time to update the home to current standards.

Manager
Dave,
You are right about the owners taking pride in their home and we will review your comments with the owners immediately. Your comments provide us a way to make the property better for future renters and are an avenue in which we will take to get better in the future. We are glad you brought the lock on the front door to our attention now, but please let us know during you stay and we will fix any problems at once.
Thanks for Your Review,

Great location to be near pavilion, shops, clubs and restaurants and the beach bum parade!!! Walk to everything yet far enough to be quiet. Floor plan, screened porch and upper deck perfect for group to spread out. House feels like old family home passed down through generations with retro touches and modern convenience. Will stay again. Tybee Cottages great to work with and made process easy.

MariettaWonderful Beach Home
Left on 05/16/2011 for a stay in May 2011
3-B Eighteenth Place is not a cottage; it's a wonderful beach home that is fully equipped (including a two car garage and even a washer and dryer) and ready to be lived in year-round. It is steps away from the beach and situated on the less commercial (South) end of the Island. There were just two of us who stayed here and everything we needed was on the main floor. We did spend time in the screened-in porch and, in the early morning and evening, on the second level deck with a view of the beach. Additionally, we had a situation arise for which Jim Heflin with Tybee Cottages helped direct us to medical care.

Manager
Jim,
Thank you for this response. We enjoyed having you and your wife with us this past week at 3-B Eighteenth Place. It was an added bonus for me to get to meet you two at the Sundae Cafe.
Please come back to 3-B when you have the opportunity.

The spaciousness and tall ceiling of the liviing room, made this condo seem larger than most. Easy access to the beach was important to us as well as a well equiped kitchen. The carport provided easy storage for our rented bikes. We are looking forward to coming back here again next year.
