It was quiet, peaceful, and beautiful.

Left on 01/09/2013 for a stay in December 2012

We thought we were going to look at the ocean, but we were facing the river, close by the ocean. It wasn't disappointing since the many ships and dolphins were interesting. Our view faced the north which means in the winter did not get sun. That would have been nice and cozy. I didn't realize we did not have a dish washer, but we used paper plates instead. Over all it was very nice.

      Rainy stay

Left on 11/30/2012 for a stay in November 2012

We were at Tybee during Nov 2012, just in time for rain.
The staff was very good. However our condo was very small and old. The "resort" was old, really needed updating. but we were only there for two nights.

The view was outstanding! The unit was small but comfortable. The location was quiet and easily to get to. The property could have been cleaner and should be upgraded at sometime. I would more than likely use this property again. The bottom line, it was a nice experience.

      First Time at Tybee

Left on 08/29/2012 for a stay in August 2012

I rented this condo because it had an view of the bay in which I could see the quintessential sights of the bay: dolphins and shrimp boats. The north side of the island is quiet and peaceful, and at times it felt as though I had a private beach.

The condo was confortable, clean and centrally located. Being a graduate student it was nice to have internet access for my continued research and writing projects. The space was cozy and it was nice to prepare meals which cut costs of eating out all the time.

At night I did not hear others in the condo complex. Overall it was a good expeirence.

      Wonderful Week

Left on 07/18/2012 for a stay in July 2012

The view was exactly what we wanted - there were dolphins in the river from the moment we walked into the condo. The location was perfect!

The condo sleeps 4, but it is a tight fit with 4 adults and one bathroom. The fridge took way too long to cool down and the cable connection was extremely poor. Yes, I know I wasn't there to watch TV, but I like to watch something before I fall asleep. The cable kept cutting out every few seconds. It is also unfortunate that the pool closes so early.

      Amazing...

Left on 06/16/2012 for a stay in June 2012

trip for the 2 of us! This little condo was a perfect little get away venue. The location could not have been more perfect as it is water front and the view from the balcony amazing. The dolphins played the entire time, big shimp lumbered into Savannah, shrimp boats parked during the evening hours and night and it is but a short walk to the atlantic beach. The kitchen was well stocked with the exception of coffee filters... :) . This is the second time we rented from Tybee Vacation Rentals and we will again. Thank You Timothy, at TVR, for finding this for us at the last minute!!!

      Decent place with nice amenities

Left on 06/15/2012 for a stay in June 2012

We reserved through Tybee Vacation Rentals and stayed for four days (Wed through Sun) and loved it. The area was very quiet, and the pool was nice. We liked the quiet beach the most but otherwise there was nothing spectacular about the stay. The place we stayed seemed a little expensive for what we paid, but it was a nice stay, nonetheless. I would probably try a different location or even just a hotel the next time we stay at Tybee, depending on the price of the other locations.

Old apartment where the landlord had little interest in comfort

Left on 06/06/2012 for a stay in June 2012

There was nothing appealing about the apartment except the view. Balcony was full of oversized chairs, air conditioner was leaking loudly, had to call in mainteance. Took two calls to get attention. We were asked if we could take care of the problem. No dishwasher. Old style everything. Comfort was minimum. Location and view were the only assets.

      Value for the money

Left on 10/31/2011 for a stay in October 2011

Altho I realize that the Beach and Racquet is an older facility, I do think the condo is over-priced for an off-season rental. I was not informed at the time of rental of the various fees and taxes that added to the rental price. Thank you.

      relaxing

Left on 10/12/2011 for a stay in September 2011

This is the second time we've stayed on Tybee Island. We love the island. Our unit is right on the beach, north side and my favorite part was sitting on our balcony watching the dolphins and just listening to the water. The unit was very nice, just enough room for my husband and myself. i like the closeness of Savannah without actually staying in the city. We appreciated the little extras of the condo, beach chairs, coolers nice tv. what didn't i like? probably paying for parking everywhere we went and our bed. the sheets came up every night and it was hard to make. Also the waiters and waitress at most local restaurants were not as friendly as they were in Savannah. But on the whole it was a wonderful vacation and we definitely intend to come again.

      Good value

Left on 07/18/2011 for a stay in July 2011

This is probably the 4th time (3 times while we lived in Ga and 1st since moving to Va) we have stayed at the Savannah Beach and Racquet Club.We come back because of the view of the water, shrimp boats and dolphins plus the privacy. My biggest complaint this trip was the lack of basics like towels, plastic garabage bags, and soap. Since we did not drive, we had no way to bring back what was not used. So it added to the expense. We will be back but will stay in a 2 bedroom condo next time. Pay the extra money for a beach view. Otherwise you will be looking over the parking lot - the view is worth the extra money.

We really liked the condo. The remodeling is very nice.
The view is great See Dolphins all the time
The only negative was the rate was very high. We stayed June 23rd and left on Monday June 27th but still got charged for 4th of July rates and we left a full 7 days before 4th of July felt that was not fair. Also the 10 am checkout is way to early 11am would be much more reasonable.

Great location. Very quiet...which is what we were looking for. Unit says sleeps 4, but we found it to be perfect for 2. Could do 3 people, but I think 4 would be a bit crowded. Very nice view off of balcony. No "crazy acting" people screaming on the beach etc...

Absolutely loved the condo, although, it was a bit "shabbier",than what I had expected. The bedroom was small, but efficient. The best part, of course, was the view.

The view was beautiful---lots of container and cargo tankers can be seen. didn't realize Savannah was the 4th largest port in america. Loved the mysterious feral cats--added a lot of "atmosphere" to the place. I could sit on that little back patio forever.

If you like peace and quiet, you will enjoy this spot.

We loved our stay at the Beach and Racquet Club. The location was steps from the beach, and the view off the deck beautiful.
Our only disappointment: the owners had removed a bunk from the unit and the picture on the rental website still showed two bunks. We were traveling with two kids (both excited to sleep in the wall bunks) only to have one of the kids sleeping on the couch.

Great place to call home away from home.

Left on 04/01/2010 for a stay in March 2010

This gated accomodation gave us a real feeling of security even though this is an area that is quiet and peaceful. The view of the river and estuary and the passing of all kinds of ships from this unit inside and on the balcony was just what us northerners from Canada needed. The unit was quiet and cosy. This particular unit however needed a retrofit / upgrade that has not been done in at least 20 years from the extremely uncomfortable fold out bed that acted as a couch, the clam shell (only other) chair to the old fixtures and bath accessaries etc. Even though these things were needed it was a wonderful place to come to at the end of a busy day. Enjoyed feeding the seagulls and walking the beach. Great to visit the river front and enjoyed the aboslute great food locally. There is so much to do and see in such a wonderful setting.

Tybee Island is wonderful - accomodations were a disappointment.

Left on 10/21/2009 for a stay in October 2009

Southern hospitality at its best would describe our arrival at Tybee Island Vacation Rentals. Everyone was very friendly, efficient and courteous. The outward appearance of the Beach and Racquet Club lead us to believe that this rental would be exactly what we expected. However, the handicapped accomodations began our downhill slope. The elevator location was not marked, and when found was a long walk from our rental unit, which became a daily problem for my 89 year old mother. There were no luggage carriers available for easier transporting of luggage from the parking lot to the unit. The halls were dirty and firedoors did not fit snugly when closed. The unit itself was much smaller than anticipated. There was absolutely no where in the unit to sit comfortably: the futoon was horrible, the saucer chair was impossible for my mother to get out of - consequently we sat on the barstools, or on the chairs on the deck. The bed was very uncomfortable and squeaked when one would rollover. The unit was very clean and functional with appropriate appliances, dishes, cooking utensils, and linens. The view was wonderful. We so enjoyed watching the dolphins and shrimp boats. The pool is lovely and very comfortable for even a physically limited person. The close proximity of Tybee to Savannah was a plus. It was wonderful to enjoy Savannah and then come back to the peace and quiet of Tybee Island - truly a jewel.

      This condo was not great

Left on 09/17/2009 for a stay in August 2009

We have stayed at this location many times and the condos are normally very nice. This one was far from what we have rented in the past. Of course we will stay at this property again but not in this particular condo. We normally have stayed during off peak times and the check out is an hour later so we were not aware of the 10am check out. We were called several times during that hour by someone in the office that was very rude and mean. If this happens again we will no longer deal with tybee island vaction rentals. The office staff before this has always been great. I hope they deal with this.

Response from Tybee Vacation Rentals - 09/22/2009

      Tybee Vacation Rentals

      Manager

We sincerely apologize for this problem as TVR works hard to provide excellent customer service to its guests. We have discussed your review with all of our staff to make sure this does not happen in the future. Our normal check out time is 10 am in summer and 11 am in off-season. If a guest would like to request a late checkout, all they have to do is contact the office during their stay to see if a later departure time is available.
We realize that once here, many guests do not want to leave and unfortunately the office does have to make calls to remind departing guests of their checkout time when their is another guest checking in the property on the same day.

Left on 09/03/2009 for a stay in July 2009

My cousin from Wyoming, my daughter, and I enjoyed a girls vacation trip to Tybee this summer. The view from our balcony was beautiful and always had something going on. The dolphins, barges, shrimp boats, the beach, the water, and just time spending a quiet moment. I know it was one of my cousins favorite sights on Tybee. We spent time on both the north and south ends of the beach, and everything is so close and accessable. Plus all the delicious restaurants and shopping available. We would definitely consider another visit with the same accomodations.

      Excellent for relaxation

Left on 11/18/2008 for a stay in August 2008

We have two children and this was the perfect location for us. It is very relaxing without all the touristy stuff. The views are great and the beach is wonderful, especially early in the morning. We were able to see lots of wildlife, including a small group of deer one morning. My son, who was less impressed with the wildlife, loved watching the big ships coming and going through the channel. The apartment itself was clean and cute. It is a little small but served us well with the size of our family right now. Facing the beach with no obstructions makes up for the size. The small deck was great for both early morning and late evening. The beach theme of the apartment is cute but a little over done. A little less would give a little more room. The kitchen had everything we needed. The little extra's like beach chairs and beach unbrella's was nice. We plan on returning next year.
