The location is great, however, the good news ends there. We had cockroaches in the place, an empty propane tank on the grill and poor customer service from the rental company. My wife refuses to rent another house from the same company.

Manager
It is disheartening to hear that you were not satisfied with your stay with us. We pride ourselves on exceptional customer service which is evident in the many wonderful reviews we receive from our guests and we are concerned that you felt we were lacking in this area. Tybee Island is a semi-tropical island. As such we are privileged to have a wonderful array of majestic birds from Great Herons to tiny sparrows living in our area. Insects such as the Palmetto bug (commonly mistaken for cockroaches) serve as part of their dietary needs. The Palmetto bug generally lives in the trees outdoors, but may find their way into a property by an open window or door. We do service our properties monthly for pest such as these, but occasionally an additional spraying may be needed. That’s where we come in. A quick call to our office have dispatched pest control to address the issue for you. The propane tank was obviously overlooked for which I do apologize, but again a quick call would have resolved the issue in no time!
I would also like to add that ‘Becca’s Beach Cottage’ has been sold and is now named ‘Blue Crab Cottage’. The new owners have truly enhanced the beauty and comfort of the property. I would encourage you to review the photos on line and give us another try. It will be worth your while!

We stayed at Becca's for Thanksgiving and my birthday weekend and we had a wonderful stay. The cottage was cozy, bright and comfy. Our dog even enjoyed lounging on the lovely porch which was my favorite part. Someone called to check on us and that was a pleasant surprise. We were close to the beach which I enjoy and we walked every where. Awesome considering how much food we ate at Stingray's for Thanksgiving! We have stayed with TVR before and surely will do so again! Thank you all for all the wonderful times that we have when we stay with TVR!

This was going to be a vacation to celebrate our son's wedding it turn out to be one of the Best time's that we had on Tybee Island . We had a great time at Becca's Beach Cottage it was a place that we could unwind after spending several day's on the beach and in Savanah . The week we went was pirate's week had a Blast , walked the Beach at night all the way to northside visited many places. Rum was flowing but had a safe and fun time .Had the Grandbaby with us plus our Dog . Becca's was large enough for all of us .When we come back plan on staying here again if it is available .The front pouch was a great place at night to sit and watch people walking by . Very friendly place along second ave . Hope to be back in the spring of 2013 or fall for sure . Bob,Debbie,Adam,Sammi,Baby rocky, and Dog Kadie

My husband and I had a staycation this year instead of our annual summer vacation b/c we have a 6 month old now. This was by far the easiest rental experience I have ever had. Tybee Vacation Rentals was so nice and helpful. The house was so comfortable. It was clean and ready when we arrived. Our dog loved sitting on the front porch. We were just steps from the pier and the little shops. It was a true beach cottage with lots of character! We will be back next year.

Most of the preparation for the vacation was completed on line. However, the information I sent as an attachment did not go through. I had to mail the information. The listing agents were congenial and efficient. We initially had a problem with the TV, but I called the office after hours, and there was someone to explain the problem. It seems all cable was out all over the island. It came back on after about 4 hours and never went off again during the week.
The cottage was charming and roomier than it appeared on the website. The bright colors in the floor, walls and furniture created a playful, artsy atmosphere. The beds and furniture were comfortable and the bathrooms and kitchen were clean. The yard was fenced and shaded. Our dog enjoyed going out early and late in the day. We weathered a tropical storm during our stay. The wind was very strong and made walking on the beach uncomfortable. (I felt like I was sandblasted every time I got near the beach.) However we found many things to do on the island and in Savannah. We enjoyed the lighthouse, museums and the excellent eating places on Tybee. The IGa supermarket was well stocked and convenient, and the merchandize no more expensive than mainland stores.
The cottage is about 2 blocks from the strip on the south end of the island, but the area was quiet. I enjoyed walking in the residential area around the cottage. Before and after the storm, I enjoyed walking to the strip and down the beach. It was a short walk with crosswalks and sidewalks in the busy area near the beach I loved the sand dunes and the walkways to the beach. The overall appearance of the beach area has improved in the last 40 years. It is a good place to enjoy a lazy, peaceful vacation with friends and family.

My family and I rented Becca's Beach Cottage for the Christmas weekend. We enjoyed it very much. Casual surroundings with a great beach cottage feel. We loved the screened porch. Great location and very quiet. Easy walk to town and beach. I took a lot of cooking equipment I really didn't need to based on other reviews. The only things I can say is that you might need is a non-stick skillet (or griddle) and a sharp knife. The wine glasses were plastic, which bugged me at first, but I got over it; this kind of went along with the low-key vibe...Tybee Vacation Rentals was great. When we arrived there were welcome gifts- coffee mug, tote bag, pens, candy, drink coozie, and even doggie-do clean up bags with ribbons. Also, coffee/filters/toilet paper/dish soap and guest soaps in the bathrooms. Unless you are staying more than three days you won't even have to take those items. It may have been the time of year, but we saw no bugs whatsoever. I would recommend Becca's to anyone looking for a relaxing , pet-friendly atmosphere.

We fell in love with Beccas Beach Cottage. It was the perfect spot for us to vacation for a month on Tybee. Just a quick walk to the beach and eateries on Tybee. The vintage decor was really nice, loved the big dining area for our family to all gather, the porch was awesome, and the fenced yard was perfect for our Shih Tzu to be outside safely. We had the most relaxing month there and the fall weather couldn't have been better. Our hope is to make it our annual trip every fall.
Location location location, that was the best of all. We did battle the couch and slip cover, but it was comfy. The smell of Clorox will forever be with my memory, it was so strong when we entered. It took a few days to get that aired out, but we did have a clean place.
Nice TV and cable in the sitting room. Cell phone service isn't too good, had to be outside or in the street to get reception and usually found other people in the street talking on their cell phones, saying that was the only place they could get reception. Watch our for cats, the island is crawling with them.

The office people were so friendly and helpful. At one time, we had problems with the DVD player, and Joe was so helpful. We did have two issues: There was a little brown roach in the bathroom and though we told the office at 9 am on Monday, the Terminex man wasn't there until Thursday. Those dirty little things are creepy, turning the light on in the night and seeing them scurry under something. Made us very uneasy about using the dishes without washing them again. Also, though now I can see why (if there are roaches...not the big tropical ones, I know about those, these were the small brown ones), but it would have been helpful to know that there were no condiments...even the basic salt and pepper!...in the kitchen. I understand bringing in our own food, but salt and pepper?! But if we'd known, I could easily have brought some from home.
We loved the beachy decor and the front porch was great! All that beach stuff...but no salt and pepper! Anyway, the house was very well out-fitted (except for the basic kitchen stuff) and very comfortable. I think it's time for new pillows, though...the ones in the larger bedroom are pretty flat by now. Also, the check-in time is very late. We had traveled from asheville and Philadelphia, and were dressed for far cooler weather; I picked my friend up from the train at 7 am, so not getting in until late afternoon was horrible...we felt so old and hot and tired before we even got into the cottage. Not a great way to start a vacation.
But once we were in, we really did love it, roaches and condiments aside. -

Nice place, but the bathrooms really need some repair. The air vents on the floor are all rusted and are not appealing at all. The bathtubs need new caulking, that was not appealing either. The front bedroom needs to have blinds or shades as even at night it's like day time as the street light shines right into the room. Other than that it was a nice relaxing place to stay.

We loved Becca's Beach cottage. We loved the walking distance to shops, restaurants and so on. We did find we liked the North Beach area, so we usually went to the beach over there. But that was fine w/us because we often ate at the North Beach Grill. Becca's was very cute, a nice size for a family of 3 and easy to maintain while we were there. This was our first trip to Tybee Island and we will be returning for another stay.

Stayed at Becca's cottage to have some "Sisters Time" together. We all [3] came from different locations and were there for 5 days. Becca's was the perfect cottage for us. From the moment we entered the cottage we felt at home. The decor was so welcoming and the "feel" of the beach abundant. Our favorite spot was on the screen porch. The short walk to the pier and the beach [ along with shopping ] was just a couple blocks away. The staff at the rental agency were great to work with . We're hoping to have another stay at Becca's cottage in the near future. Delightful area and delightful cottage.

After being on the go in Savannah taking in the local history we loved kicking back in the lounge chairs on Beccas' screened porch. Cottage felt very inviting and casual just like pre high season Tybee. Photos are a good representation of Beccas. Great to have ensuite off each of the two main bedrooms. Bathrooms are functional but dated. Good south central location close to main pier and main street shops, yet off the beaten path. Check-in check out was a snap, good information and dining recomendations. Especially North Beach Grill. Thanks for the memorable time on Tybee.

Service was good to get the cottage.
The cottage is colorful and pleasant with all amenities (thanks for the wi-fi).
Location is excellent.
Great screened in patio.
Unfortunately less than 20 feet away is a pump (probably for a hot tub) from the neighboring house that NEVER shuts off.
Very annoying, could not put up with that again in spite of how pleasant the cottage itself was.Response from Tybee Vacation Rentals - 07/13/2009

Thanks for taking the time to let us know about the noise coming from the neighbors. This is the first time that a guest has ever mentioned this problem. Also each of our properties is inspected before every guest arrival and our staff has never noticed the noise. We are extremely apologetic that you and your family had to experience this and will immediately check to make sure this problem is still not occurring and will do everything we can to ensure that no future guests of Becca’s have to deal with the issue.

I needed a weekend away and what better place than Tybee Island!!
I always discover something new when I visit the Island - everything from different restaurants to different turtle statues strategically places on the Island!!
Becca's Beach Cottage is a great place for a family vacation or Girlfriends Get-away or two couples going on vacation. It is located a block from the beach which allows easy access to the beach while you are not right no top of the noise, etc! The screened porch offers is a great place to spend the evenings relaxing and there is a grill and great kitchen for cooking in if you don't want to hit one of the restaurants.
Tybee Vacation Rentals is great to work with - they have such a variety that there is something for EVERYONE!!! Whether you are looking to be right on the beach or near the lighthouse or anyplace else they have it!
Be sure to visit Tybee Island...you will fall in love!

Becca's Cottage is as cute as they come. It fit our family of 5 perfectly. Short walk to the beach made it a great vacation spot. We struggled with meal making, no griddle for pancakes, no cookie sheets for garlic bread for example, so we ate out more than we had hoped or planned to. In addition, we had those pesky nightly cockraoch visits in the kitchen which was an additional turn off to cooking or eating there. We would recommend the property but probably wouldn't return to the island... just not enough to do, especially if it's not a beach day, and our 3 teenagers were quickly board as we had limited beach days during our stay.
