Johnson City, TNGreat condo. Great location.
Left on 11/01/2012 for a stay in October 2012
The condo was really nice. The location was excellent, with only a short stroll to the lovely beach. The pool and hot tub are great. The only thing we found lacking was the kitchen cookware and utensils. If you intend to cook I recommend you bring a couple of good knives and some good pots etc. Also bring some plastic utensils, as there wasn't really enough there. I would also have liked to see a gas grill on the deck (but that wasn't advertised, so I was not expecting that). But those are minor things, and if you're prepared, or don't intend to cook, it won't make a difference. We had a great time at this condo, and would recommend it, as you can't beat the location.

San Ramon CaNice for our family reunion
Left on 08/15/2012 for a stay in August 2012
This was our first time on Tybee Island and the rental was a very nice place for our small family to gather for a family reunion. We had 6 adults and 3 children. The condo was beautifully decorated with a great location. The beach was less than a block away and the pool close so in the afternoon we could relax by the pool. The condo's kitchen was equipped minimally. In fact there were no dinner knives where we got there and the coffee maker didn't work but a call the next day to the office got us these things quickly delivered. The only real thing we didn't like was the hide-a-bed. It was more uncomfortable than most. The metal bar made it almost impossible to sleep and the bed sloped with the head downward. I don't know if anything was wrong with the bed, maybe just poor construction. My son finally started sleeping on the floor with the pillows as his bed and my daughter in law sleep in the bunk bed with our grandson. Unless this condo improves the hide-a-bed situation I would say it sleep 5 comfortably. The master suite was a dream. It was huge and the large bed very comfortable.

On a scale of 1 to 10 my entire experence at Tybee Island was about a 5. The Brassrail could have been very nice if it had been clean first of all. I was very disappointed! The floors were absolutely filthy! We all had black feet or socks after being in the place for just a few hours. I went out and bought a mop, bucket and cleaning supplies before I could stay there after that first night. The people in the condo above us were party animals and did not sleep the entire time they were there...and we didnt get much sleep either. My 3 year old granddaughter was totally freaked out over all the noise. I finally called the police the 3rd night but it didnt help. We understood that the place was "30 yards" from the beach too - it was more like a 200 yard hike. Here are a few recomendations:
1- clean the rooms completely between clients
2- place felt disks on the bottom of all the furniture - everytime the folks above us moved the furniture it would make the hair on the back of your neck stand up.
3- Oh, and the doors to the patio? we had to keep them locked all the time - if one of us were on the patio we had to knock to get back in cuz the doors would not stay closed.
4- do not turn the fridge/freezer and ac to the point that it takes hours to cool back down if you have folks coming back in the same day. it was very hot the day we checked in and we lost a gallon of milk, 4 lbs of HB and several other things that we placed in the fridge but it didnt get cool enough till the next day.
Bottom line - I will not stay at the Brass Rail ever again. We had a scary incident happen with some locals at a restraunt that I wont go into details about but because of it I will never return to Tybee again.Response from Tybee Vacation Rentals - 08/28/2012

We sure are sorry to hear this! Occasionally a housekeeping issue does get by us, we are human after all, but we really hate that you were so disappointed overall. If any of our guests are disturbed by neighboring properties, we can and do contact those guests or their rental company if we do not manage that property. Tybee has a strict noise ordinance and the police will follow up on any excessive noise after 10:00 pm. We sure do wish you had let us know while you were here so we would have had the opportunity to correct this for you during your stay. We sent our maintenance team over to look at the patio doors so we could fix them right away and we let them know that you had an issue with the refrigerator as well. Brass Rail is 30 yards to the beach and we would have gladly given you the shortest route if we had had the opportunity. Many of our guests come back to Brass Rail year after year and love the location and its amenities. As for what occurred at a local restaurant, we cannot speak to that but truly are sorry that Tybee wasn’t a good experience for you.

We loved the condo! There was plenty of room for our family of five and all the furnishings were completely comfortable. The kitchen was a nice size and had all the basics. The beach was very conveniently located. The pool and hot tub area were beautifully landscaped. We kind of wished we had a grill, but other than that loved it.

RobbinsvilleFantastic vacation!
Left on 04/06/2012 for a stay in March 2012
I want to thank Tybee Vacation Rentals for allowing us to stay at Brass Rail 214. The condo was clean, beautifully appointed, had everything we needed (with the exception of a blender), and was close enough to the ocean with easy access. The outdoor hot tub was awesome (would be nice if it was open later, it is a vacation after all :0). This is the second year I've vacationed at Tybee. The first time I stayed on the north end of the island, and even though it was a nice experience, this home was far better. I would recommend the Brass Rail to everyone! Thanks so much!!

Left on 05/24/2011 for a stay in April 2011
Our stay at Brass Rail 214 was wonderful. Although it wasn't absolutely perfect, it was very good. The unit is beautiful, convenient, and affordable for us. It was a shared expense venture for our family members which helped the affordability aspect. The unit is within walking distance of good breakfast places, bike rental shops, and the beach is just a sea shell toss away. Also close by are the pre-requsite tourist shops and ice cream stores. Dinner may require a drive, depending on your tastes, but there are dinner places nearby. There were 3 disappointing issues. 1. There is no barbeque grill available for this unit. 2. The security gate on 15th street was never closed, and this opens the premises to passerby traffic. I never saw any...but! 3. The shower in the master bath deserved a cleanliness rating of 6 on a 1 to 10 scale, with 10 being antiseptic clean. But, all that having been said, we'd do it again. Tybee Island is a comfortable place, not unpleasantly upscale, but then neither are we. The drive to Savannah is very short and there are tons of things to do there. Try it. As I said, we'll be back!

Atlanta, GaFantastic Family Vacation
Left on 10/04/2009 for a stay in September 2009
My family and I decided to stay close to home this year and take a vacation on Tybee Island. We started our vacation with dear friends over the weekend and then Grandma joining us for the week.
The service we received from TVR was great. They made it easy to plan our vacation and listened to the things that were important to us.
Our vacation home was just what we were looking for: close to the beach and the heart of Tybee, large enough for our family and friends, use of the pool for our little ones and the overall "home" feeling that it gave us.
We will be back next year!! -

we can't say enough good things about brass rail #214! and we had 7 ladies staying in the joint, so that's really saying something!! it was just as the ad described...spacious, clean, nice view of the pool. everything was better than we expected. and we couldn't have picked a better place to stay in terms of location. we wanted someplace where we could walk everywhere and we got it. once we arrived we parked the car and didn't need it again until we left. thanks for making our vacation a wonderful experience!

Savannah, GAGreat Location and Great Price!
Left on 05/30/2009 for a stay in May 2009
Brass Rail #214 is the ultimate condo for a vacay or stay-cation! It's located right in the heart of Tybee Island- once you park your car you don't have to get back in it until it's time to go home. You can walk everywhere: the pier, the marine science center, the Tybee Market, restaurants, shops, and even the bars!
The condo itself is very comfortable. It's perfect for families with a big open kitchen that looks into the living area and you can even open up the French doors and look out over the balcony. Plus the master bathroom has a great big Jacuzzi tub- perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine!
I will definitely be back and will stay in unit #214. Tybee Vacation Rentals made everything so easy from the start and the friendly attitudes of all the employees really made me feel welcome- even though I am a local and needed a quick "stay-cation!"

Pleasanton, CAThe Best Place to stay on Tybee Island
Left on 05/21/2009 for a stay in March 2008
I rented this BrassRail unit 214 from March 1, 2008 thru April 16, 2009. The condo was more than enough room with the large living room to the big master bed room. The condo location almost as best as you can get. It is located just minutes from the main strip with all the gift shops. The main peir for fishing is at the end of the strip. All of this just minutes from your door.
The BrassRail complex is very clean and well kept. The 2 swimming pools and hot tub is cleaned every morning. The complex is a gated comunity so you can feel safe during your stay at the BrassRail. I lived in a different condo complex located on the island before moving into the BrassRail. I will have to tell you that Brass Rail is a upscale condo.
With my stay at BrassRail Unit 214. The Staff at Tybee Vacation Rentals are the best on the Island. Having rented with them for over a year and half the staff was always friendly. So, When you want a good vacation use Tybee Vacation rentals and Book your stay at the Brass Rail Unit 214.
