2. coffee pot leaked

Manager
We appreciate your feedback about your recent stay. It is unfortunate to hear that you have made arrangements to stay elsewhere next time as we were prompt in addressing the issues you reported. Someone from our operations team brought a new coffee maker over the day you reported it leaking and maintenance responded to the ice maker and tub issue right away. As a repeat guest, we value your business and hope you will reconsider staying with TVR in the future. While we cannot prevent certain issues from arising, we pride ourselves on responding and resolving issues if and when they do come up.

We have been coming to Tybee since 2006, we have been renting from Tybee Vacation Rentals ever since, they are always very friendly. Their service is a cut above. This is the second year we have stayed at this location. This rental is just a few steps from the beach where we enjoy fun in the sun and sand. We also enjoy being able to sit on the balcony watching the tide, ships coming into Savannah from parts unknown, the shrimp boats, dolphins, and the awesome sunrises. Absolutely beautiful. The location is also just a few steps from McElwee's where they have some fabulous shrimp.( Shh! better than Uncle Bubba's. This place is just like being at home with all the amenities, no need to even bring a hair dryer. Love it!! Our little miniature schnauzer, Oreo, loves lying on the balcony watching the people. She also feels right at home.
Our favorite thing is Tybee is our happy place we have traveled to other location but none compared to us anyway. This year we brought some friends with us who stayed next door to us, and they loved Tybee & Savannah as well. And the fact that Savannah is only a few miles away, about 20 minutes to the historic district and you can take a step back in time is another reason we love Tybee so much. The people who live there is always so nice. You can met them on the street, they always speak. Our only regret we have is packing to come home. Our time there seems way too short. See you next year.

The place is beautiful and right on the beach just as advertised. I was not bothered by not having access from the back deck. It is still just steps from the ocean.
The only issue I have is that this rental was not as well equipt as the last one we stayed in. There was no broom - I called TVR and they sent one right over. Also there was no garbage disposal which I thought was odd. There was no wine opener either and the knives were not that great. This is the only reason a used a four star instead of a five star rating. -

Greenville, SCGreat Location and accommodation w/ 1 Non-kid friendly drawback!
Left on 04/19/2012 for a stay in April 2012
We loved the location how the beach was less populated up at the north end of the island. The balcony was fantastic for sunrises. The beds comfortable and the house functional and clean. However... On the second day, our 2 year old pulled the dresser over with the TV on it simply by opening the drawers. He was almost pinned under, if I hadn't been able to grab him last minute. He did get hit in the head with the large flatscreen TV when everything fell over. Everyone was alright, but very scary. I recommend that the dresser be secured to the wall for future tenants. In addition, this same bedroom has a close to the floor window with only a screen when the window is open for sea breeze. There should be a safety bar on the outside to prevent a kid from leaning on the screen and falling out. Luckily we noticed this hazard and were able to redirect him from the window. Everything else was great, though.

First, the people in the rental office are great! It was our first time. The place really did exceed expectations. The view was fantastic. It was very clean. The kitchen was well equipped. We had Thanksgiving dinner there, and there was plenty of equipment and places to sit. The beds were comfortable, and so close to the beach, and the convenience store. A quick ride to the grocery. We will be back! It didn't bother us, but it is up a flight of stairs.

The property had a great location and a wonderful view.
The down side is the decks are all right next to each other with no partician between them. So once outside there is no privacy. These are no smoking units. We don't smoke, but everyone who does smoke goes out on their deck to light one up. We had smokers to the right, left, and below us. We had to time our deck time to avoid the cigeretes.
Considering the unit was $300 a night - off season rate after all the add ons..., we were expecting a little higher quality condo with more privacy.Response from Tybee Vacation Rentals - 11/01/2011
Manager
Tybee Lights is a truly unique and great location for Tybee Island. The developer should have called it Sand Castle since it actually sits on the sandy beach with unobstructed views of the ocean and no parking lot to cross over to get to the water. Unlike a Sand Castle, which I have always imagined was a single family dwelling, it is shared by several residents and guests which has it’s advantages as you get to meet some great people both locals and some from faraway lands and it has some disadvantages like the smoke from the deck of a neighboring property. Generally the ocean breezes takes care of whisking away such unpleasant odors quickly and I am sorry that during your visit there were several smokers in the area. I hope you took advantage of the great location during those times to pick up a few sea shells while taking a refreshing walk on the beach or if you needed a little rest, enjoyed the beautiful surroundings within the privacy of the condo while still enjoying the marvelous view.
I would like to suggest you try us between the months of November to February when you can really get the feel of the island and live like a local. The day time temperatures are generally in the 60’s that time of year and are still pleasant enough to enjoy a great cup of coffee on the deck without a lot of neighbors. We can’t guarantee there will be no smokers, but the chances of having them in all directions diminishes greatly! Or if you want to come at the same time next year, let our reservation agents help you find a private home that will give you the privacy you are looking for. We are here to help you find the perfect location for your perfect vacation!

We have been coming to Tybee Island every year for the past 7 yrs., sometimes twice a year, we always stay beachfront. The unit was very nice, clean except for the washcloths were gray and very worn. We thought there were 2 balconies due to the pictures posted online, makes it look like there are 2. A partition between the decks would be nice for a little more privacy. All in all it was a wonderful stay and we had fantastic weather that week. C'ya all next year.

Left on 10/17/2011 for a stay in October 2011
This is the third time we have stayed at one of the units of Tybee Lights...there simply is not enough words to say how perfect this location is! Waking up to roll over and look out the master bedroom window to watch the sunrise on the ocean only 30 yards or so away...can life get any better than that???!
There are two bedrooms upstairs and a pull out couch on the main floor so it easily sleeps our family of 5. Cable TV in both the master bedroom and living room was a great place to unwind after a day of beaching and munching. The kitchen is well stocked with all the cooking utensils, and the IGa store up the road has everything a family could need to stock the pantry. Dishwasher and washer dryer work great...they provide soap to do one load but bring your own if you need to do more. Balcony was a restful place to watch the kiddos play on the beach (which felt like our own private one!), or watch the dolphins frolic out in the surf! The screen door was sticking but even that was a blessing as it gave restless hubby a project, he replaced the wheels on the screen so it will close easier. If you don't feel like cooking, several restaurants are within walking distance.
Cannot beat this...got a great rate as it was off season and also a last minute booking discount. We will return again and again! -

It was an especially good Tybee Rental for my wife and I. It was right on the beach, and had a first rate view of the ocean. The rooms were of adequate size, and decorated pleasantly. The kitchen was small but adequate, and everything need was there. The upstairs shared bath opens between the two bedrooms, and this is a point to be considered for more than a couple. We will most likely rent there again. The rental price seems in line with the going rates, and the place was overall a very good value.

The beach was very nice, not a lot of people for a Holiday weekend. Neighbors were all very friendly and nice. My family enjoyed watching the ships come in and being on the beach at night without all the lights. It was great to see all the stars. A great place to go and Savannah only 15 minutes or so away, just all around nice.

The location is great.. just far enough away from the crowd but a close walk to everything. The unit was great.. needed a fresh paint in some rooms but well kept and maintained. Loved that we could just walk out the door onto the beach and the beach was beautiful. I was glad that we rented this unit.

This was our first trip to Tybee, will we come back, absolutely. Our rental at Tybee lights was wonderful. Overall Tybee is an awesome place to visit with a family if you do not want a "touristy" type place.

We had an absolutely wonderful vacation on Tybee Island! Our townhome was very nice, beds were so comfortable! Very nicely decorated and comfortable. There was some issue with the dishwasher, it didn't clean the dishes at all, but, everything else was great! Couldn't have asked for a better location, loved the restaurants, and all the sights! Hope to return again someday! We highly recommend this vacation rental. Our 16 year old daughter and her friend loved this place, and had tears in their eyes when it was time to go home, they had a terrific time and loved walking on the beach, down to the pier, and to the Sugar Shack for ice cream! Best location on Tybee!

Left on 10/07/2009 for a stay in September 2009
The best part about the unit was the view! My fiance was very content just relaxing and enjoying the view and sounds from the ocean. The walk to the water was about 2 minutes...nice! The place was clean(ish) and in good(ish) condition (the fiance says some repairs were needed) for a rental. I didn't care for the lack of privacy on the deck. The neighbors were inches away, and I did not enjoy the lack of privacy. Also, there are no stairs from the deck to the beach. Albeit spoiled sounding, it would have been nice not to have to loop around the front of the building (especially when we locked ourselves out because we grabbed a key that only worked in one of the two locks.) The service was fabulous and courteous. I think it was about right for the price, plus they are pet friendly and we were thrilled to bring our boxer! Our boys loved it and we had a very nice time:) Not oober classy or sexy but lovely enough and we were blessed to have this family get-a-away!!

While we were at Tybee Island the weather was not the best. We had more cloudy days than sunny. I also would have liked to go the beach out the balcony instead of going out the front door and walking around back. This was very unhandy and disappointing. What is the need of the balcony if you can't get to the beach from there? I enjoyed the room but would have liked going to the beach from the back. Please build steps before next visit!

I recommend using Tybee Vacation Rentals. They were outstanding in all aspects of the leasing instructions, the advertisements were accurate , the information provided was timely and exactly as described. The personal service on arrival and departure was great and everyone I encountered was extremely courteous, friendly and helpful. The condo 110C was beautiful, clean and ready to use upon our arrival. The location was super, close to everything available that we were interested in seeing or doing. I liked the whole experience. The info, ads and service was 100% accurately protrayed. The Condo was super and we just had a great vacation. There was nothing I liked least.
It was the best leasing vacation I have experienced.

We enjoyed the townhouse. Its location is excellent, on the widest part
of Tybee beach. We were somewhat put off on arrival by the door with
badly weathered front door, including chips and missing paint. We
had a toddler, and were very concerned by the many loose boards on
the railing of the deck. The deck was also severely weathered, and
could use some power washing, and some board replacements. Final
issue was underwear found in a bedroom dresser. Ew! This is a
cleaning issue, but ew!
Other than that, the unit was clean and liveable. We cooked several
delicious meals, enjoyed the beach (though access down from the
deck would be nice), and the views from the master bedroom.
All in all, we recommend, and would rent again. -
