Pelangi Estate is an oasis of beauty and comfort located by the riverside. It consists of two luxurious villas and a guest cottage, surrounded by lush, landscaped gardens in the charming Balinese village of Ubud, recently named "the best small town in Asia", by Conde Nast.

The private Pelangi Estate is on the southern outskirts of Ubud, in the lovely undeveloped village of Jukut Paku, where Balinese life carries on much the same as it has for centuries. The property is adjacent to an archaeological site with a "candi" (holy spring), with easy access to hiking trails, expansive rice field walks, birdwatching and inner-tubing on the river. Ubud's main gallery and shopping/restaurant district is a ten minute drive, but can also be accessed by bicycle in 20 minutes, or on foot in 45 minutes (if you don't stop to shop and the amazing clothing and craft boutiques!). Ample parking, car/driver for hire, taxi service available. Once daily shuttle is provided free of charge.

Rates include full staff: house manager, professional cook, team of maids, gardeners, English speaking driver and night time security; circle circuit video monitoring; WiFi Internet access from two independent service providers; airport transfer; once daily shuttle service to Ubud center and back base on the guests's scheduler by 7-seater car; yoga mats, weights & bands workout equipment; one baby cot and baby high-chair.
Extras provided upon request for reasonable charge: breakfast, lunch and dinner are available by extensive menu with fixed prices and will be cooked by our professional in-house cook; full day car and driver; babysitter; 1-4 single beds in the Main House; English speaking guide and admittance tickets; old-school VW Safari convertible available for self-drive; and an in-house masseuse.

The staff was very attentive and the owner of this newly built home was meticulous in choosing decor and color to enhance one's visual experience. The large home supports a family easily with two pools and several floors of bedrooms, each with an outdoor shower. It was easy to wander into the staff kitchen and receive friendly attention and watch food preparation. The downside is that you need to hire the driver or have a rental car for any excursion but traffic is heavy in Bali so one tends not to go anywhere without great deliberation. Five days is a good amount of time to rest up.

Booking this property at first took a little longer than I have expected as email communications have its limitations. However, once the booking has been confirmed, everything was smooth from there. The place was relatively easy to find as my driver made one pit stop to check at a shop and the shop owner seemed to know the resort.
Similar to other ubud resorts, the ride into the long driveway gave way to the wow-factor main house. I have booked the Java Suite for 4 persons and the management has kindly set up an extra bed for my photographer. The resort has lots of charm and each room looks unique. I loved the woody feel of the Java suite and the living room was simply charming and beautiful with character. I stayed at Pelangi estate mainly for the many different views it offer for my pre wedding photography in a comfortable environment. There's the main house with its many rooms, the Bhutan house for a lovely sunset view, the valley view for a romantic river view. My photographer loved the resort for the different looks it offers.
I wished I stayed another day to enjoy the resort. This place is best enjoyed with family and friends and would be a great wedding location. -

Truly breathtaking, with every thought and care put into the design of the house. You are surrounded by nature - waterfalls, streams, hills - and the house is designed in a way to allow you the experience the beauty of this outdoors without compromising on any of the luxury of the indoors. Full marks to the helpful staff and our delightful hostess . Highly recommended!

Villa Pelangi is a stunning villa that we would recommend highly...the staff attended our every need and became like family. We lived in sublime luxury while also feeling close to nature and like we had a front row seat filming a National Geographic special. The property is a piece of art, with no detail overlooked by owner and jewelry designer Carolyn Tyler, who created the masterpiece like a fine piece of jewelry. If you go to Bali and want to stay in a place that you will remember forever, this is it.

We had a wonderful time in Pelangi estate. Time stopped.
We stayed for 3 days at Java house (definitely too short), an old Java spacious wood reconstructed house with a large passageway all around overlooking the jungle and the river. It is a quiet place, only birds sounds, far enough from Ubud (10 minutes in car or scooter) to avoid any noise pollution. We loved the bathroom in the middle of the jungle as well as all the furniture of the house. It is not only beautiful, it is also very comfortable.
The staff is smiling, helpful and discreet. They can drive you into the island, show you the temples and the rice fields...
The food is organic and tasty. Perfect homemade breakfast.
Special thanks to the owner, Carolyn, who is kind and attentive.

Our family was amazed by the beauty of this Balinese home and its surrounding river, waterfalls, and views! The house has every detail of color, beauty and comfort in every room.
We decided to stay longer when we arrived because of this magical place. It is a simple taxi ride into town. We hope to return someday and enjoy this dream place again!!! Oh and the staff is amazing!

Very kind staff. Good service - not noisy but very wellcome. We stayed with baby-boy and we were supplied everything we needed! Very homelike atmosphere.
We loved our home very much, I can say that this majic home can harmonies the people's feeling and thinking ;)
The pluses of location are: cooler then another places, close to the crafting-villages, real atmosphere of Bali.

We had a beautiful visit at the Pelangi Estate, we just loved staying in the Java House. It was like a dream in this lovely antique house which is furnished in a very sophisticated asian decor, every detail is carefully crafted, truly a masterpiece . We felt very comfortable from the minute we arrived. We enjoyed our daily breakfasts on the veranda overlooking the river, which was just glorious. The pool was our oasis, giving us a break from the heat and well needed exercise. The staff was always kind and helpful and cared for us like we were family. We can't wait to return.
