Additional Location Information
Our villa is a western style house located in the ricefields outside the village of Bentuyung, about 4 kilometres north of Ubud. It is located about 250 metres along a famous ricefield walk into Ubud. Access is by motorbike or by foot. We have a carpark on the road exclusively for villa guests. Upon arrival our driver meets guests at Denpasar airport or any other nominated Bali location and provides complimentary transport to the villa.
Ubud and Bentuyung are very culturally aware places. Our staff are very connected into the local community and welcome the opportunity to assist guests to understand the Baliense traditions and customs.
We encourage guests to do the Bike ride from Mount Kintamani down to Udud and the Bali Bird Walk. Both these activities allow guests to appreciate the complexity and subtlety of life in Bali. Our staff can arrange these activities on request.

MelbourneThe home you would like to have in Udud
Left on 05/22/2013 for a stay in May 2013
We have just had yet another wonderful stay at Castello Jasper. The staff are wonderful, helpful and a pleasure to return to. The accommodation is very roomy, the swimming pool is to die for and the entire stay was made so easy and comfortable. 10 minutes by car or a 50 mins walk down through the paddy fields into Ubud means you are close enough but out of the hussle and bustle once home. We will return, yet again.

I was fortunate enough to spend some quality time at Castello Jasper with family and friends recently. What can I say? It was an amazing experience for my 7th trip to Bali and first trip for my companions. The Villa is spacious, comfortable, very clean and has all the mod cons. The caretakers Wyan and Wyan bend over backwards to accommodate your wishes. The location in the rice fields provides the perfect backdrop to lazy days by the pool - highly recommended!

Had an amazing stay here.
Wayan and Suri are such a delight as is Graham the Owner of property.
The most magnificent Home in Ubud. Views that photo's give not justice to...simply breath taking!
The Property is positioned approx 10 minutes from Town and you definately will need transport. We had scooters and enjoyed the ride to and from each Day as We viewed Rural life of locals.
I cannot wait to share this property with Friends and Family.
Feel so lucky to have found it as it certainly made our Holiday special.
Thankyou!Response from Graham Jasper - 04/16/2013

Blue sky scattered with crisp white cottony clouds, green coconut trees, flowers blooming and the lush green paddy fields!! The villa is set in the lap of mother nature right in the middle of paddy fields. We had a wonderful stay at the villa with our family of two young girls and my parents. The staff is very helpful and efficient. The rooms are comfortable and bright. Swimming pool is well maintained and clean. Everything was taken care of efficiently, right from the pick-up until the last moment we left. If you want to enjoy Ubud then this is a good choice!

Guildford, UKFabulous villa in tropical setting with amazing pool
Left on 03/14/2013 for a stay in March 2013
We loved this villa - it is very comfortable in all respects from the beds to the seating areas inside and out. The infinity pool is wonderful and so welcome at the end of a day out sightseeing. Two excellent staff were on hand to make breakfast, books tickets, keep the place clean and tidy and answer all our questions.
We particularly loved the setting and the 3 km rice-field walk into Ubud. At night the sound of the jungle was amazing, something one never experiences in a more urban area. Recommended especially for those who want to get away from it all. -

Hong Kong/Perth WAJust perrrfect!
Left on 02/20/2013 for a stay in February 2013
Counting the firefies of a night as we sit in the bale sipping Bintangs and looking out towards the rice fields across the infinity pool, is only one of the delights of this beautiful location. This is our families' third stay at Castello Jasper and hopefully, won't be our last. We selfishly think this little piece of paradise has become too popular. It would have been great to keep it a secret! We think of it as 'our home in Ubud'. We pick a date and then the family frantically scrambles to book holidays climbing over each other to make sure they have their name on one of the beautiful bedrooms. The thought of missing out on Wayan and Suri's breakfasts of pancakes (the best in the world voted by the granddaughter), cheese omelets, poached eggs on toast, coffee, ginger tea and fruit would be too much to bear. Not to mention the delicious Balinese dinner we always have Wayan and Suri cook for us at least once during our stay. Nothing is too much for this wonderful couple. Wayan books our scooters, our cycling, white water rafting and tours to the zoo, safari park, the village dance and anywhere else we wish to go. Tono, our very capable friendly driver, takes us wherever we wish to go always with a lively informative chat. Our family trips to Bali would not be the same without these welcoming people.
We come away from our stay at Castello Jasper, feeling relaxed, a little bit healthier after numerous swims in the pool and walks along the rice field walk for a juice at the vegetarian restaurant, a little heavier after great breakfasts and amazing dinners in and around Ubud, and always looking forward to our next stay at 'our home in Ubud'. Ah, Castello Jasper, just perrrfect!

We have had the very good fortune to stay at Castello Jasper 4 times in the last 2 years.
We bring our 92 year old Mum and she exclaims 'ah home' every time we enter the front door - this is from a woman who only ever left her home to go to church on Sunday!
We adore the home, setting, location, staff and culture.
We now book our next trip before we have finished our last.

FremantlePerfect place to enjoy your Bali stay
Left on 12/15/2012 for a stay in December 2012
I had 5 days in Bali to relax unwind, and I am so glad I did so at Castello Jasper. Firstly, the villa is fantastic, set in beautiful surroundings, with the pool and terrace area overlooking rice fields and tropical forest, you have nothing overlooking you. The only noise you hear is the frogs and geckos singing at night, and in the daytime you get to enjoy the view of birds flying by and heading for the coast.
The villa has 5* written all over it, with every detail focussed on comfort and relaxation. The staff who run the villa, give you the right level of service whilst also leaving you to relax until you need them. They go out of their way to make you comfortable and will help you organise any trips you want to go on. The food is gorgeous as well!
I slept in the beautiful master bedroom with its four poster bed and spectacular views but I could happily slept in any of the rooms as they are all so nicely decorated.
There are three main living areas, an upstairs terrace with sofas, a main living room with space to seat 8 people, and an outside living room overlooking the pool, again with enough comfy seats to sit 8. The pool, well, I took constant photos of the sun reflecting the trees and mountains, but spent most of my time swimming in it, clean and well maintained and has the feeling of an infinity pool.
I will definitely be staying here again, the bar has been raised in Ubud... I would highly recommend you stay with Castello Jasper.

Left on 11/15/2012 for a stay in October 2012
A Slice of Paradise.
The tranquil setting of this beautifully proportioned villa is simply breath taking.
On waking each morning the views across the infinity pool, out to the architectural paddy fields, onto the verdant canopy of the tropical forest and beyond in the furthest distance, the volcanic mountains, is something to behold. A slice of paradise.
As if the view weren't treat enough, the omelettes, poached eggs and pancakes served up each morning by the wonderful Wyan & Suri , the housekeepers, were the best we've ever had!
Later a swim in the pool, in which you feel as though suspended above the paddy fields below. Then maybe a stunning slow scenic walk into the hustle and bustle of Ubud, via the path at the entrance to the house, stopping off at the fabulous organic restaurant en route for lunch or a refreshing cocktail - a Padi Sunset highly recommended!
We travelled around Bali, sampling many of its delights, driven very confidently by Putu. After all our adventures further a field, it was always a reassuring pleasure to return to our Luxurious base at Castello Jasper.
Our two families Lounging on the sofas by the the pool as the sun sets, then watching the fireflies dance before us as the night sets in. Great memories!
What ever you choose to do, this is a perfect place to do it from or to do absolutely nothing in.

The Cotswolds. UK.The House is even more beautiful than in the photographs.
Left on 11/12/2012 for a stay in October 2012
We have just returned from having a fabulous two week stay at this wonderful villa.
Seven of us (four adults & three teenagers) stayed in comfort in this beautifully proportioned house in the most magnificent of settings.
We awoke each morning to be continually stunned by one of the most amazing views I've witnessed from a bedroom window. To be followed by a lovely and healthy home cooked breakfast by the friendly and helpful staff. The next job to do on our lazy schedule was a few lengths in the infinity pool before deciding what to do with the rest of the day.
The house lies in a perfect tranquil setting amongst the paddy fields but is a pleasant and interesting 25min. walk to explore the hustle and bustle of the main town Ubud with its wide selection of restaurants and shops.
Bali is a beautiful island inhabited by extremely friendly people. It was such a rich experience to travel around the island and witness the incredible diversity this country has to offer. Whilst travelling further afield and exploring the island it was constantly in our thoughts how lucky we were to have such an amazing house to return to and use as our base.
I could continue this revue by steeping more and more praise on this lovely house but I would be in danger of sounding like I was in some way connected with the lucky owners of the property (which I assure you I am not).
So instead I will sum up by saying if any one has come across this revue because they are looking for a house to stay in which offers comfort and luxury in a relaxed and stunning setting and wanting to return home from Bali with as many happy memories as we all did, book Castello Jasper.

Our group of seven thoroughly enjoyed our idyllic week's holiday at Villa Castello Jasper in September 2012.The Balinese staff , Wayan and his wife Suri were most accommodating and helpful in every way. Nothing was too much effort. The daily breakfasts that they prepared for us, consisted of freshly made tropical fruit salad, eggs cooked in a variety of ways, toast and coffee. The villa was spacious, well decorated and exuded old world charm although was complete with modern day comforts. We appreciated the fact that we had the villa to ourselves and for this reason, we were able to relax in a home style environment. Our sons enjoyed swimming many laps of the 18 metre salt water pool. It was pure bliss to look beyond the infinity pool to the picturesque surrounding rice fields. The tropical flowers in the well tended garden were simply beautiful and one of our sons and I took many photographs of the lush blooms as subject matter for future paintings. The villa is a ten minute drive from the township of Ubud and whenever we requested, Wayan organised a driver to take us there. Taxi fares are inexpensive. Alongside the villa is a track that leads to Ubud and along the wayside there were a few stalls where local artisans were selling paintings and jewellery.
Our week's holiday was truly delightful, although our stay was too short.

Second time we have stayed at Castello Jasper. Third time will be next year. Beautiful spacious house set in the idyllic padi fields just outside Ubud. Fabulous infinity pool. Wayan and Suri who look after you are just lovely and very helpful. The 3 km walk into Ubud is truly truly beautiful. If you are after a tranquil holiday in a Balinese paradise close to great food, wonderful art and unspoilt countryside, this is it.

My family and I stayed at this property the first week in September 2012 and found the property to be very comfortable and only a short taxi ride from central Ubud. The pool overlooking the ricefields is delightful and the service by Wayan and his wife is lovely and discrete with a fantastic breakfast provided each morning. Wayan will also organise mopeds and dinner reservations for you and the taxi service provided by Putu (into town or an all day trip) was extremely handy and reasonably priced.

Beautiful villa, with stunning views overlooking paddy fields! Amazingly helpful staff who assisted us in every way possible including organizing tours for us. Very comfy villa - perfect for 3 couples. Do as much or as little as you please...
The walk into town (Ubud) through the rice fields is great and shows Bali at it's best. -

10 minutes or so from the hussle and bussle of Ubud, the house is rural and reached by a paved walkway through the paddy fields. Passing through the gate into the garden, you enter the tranquility of fish ponds and tropical plants to the house that opens out onto a breathtaking view. The house is well appointed and the staff helpful without being intrusive. We had one of our best trips combining the exploration of the island from a central point, bartering in the shops and market in the busy Ubud and retiring to the tranquility of the beautiful house to laze around by the ample sized pool (great if you want to swim as well as just dip) or reading in the shade of the outside lounge - a piece of paradise!

We stayed at Castello Jasper in January 2009. We booked over the internet , arrived late at night from australia, caught transport direct to Castello Jasper.
Castello Jasper is situated about a 10 minute drive north of the heart of Ubud. The house is accessed by a short path through a rice paddy. Arriving at night, meant that we were in for a big surprise when we woke the next morning.
Unfolding infront of us was the spectacular view over the edgeless swimming pool into the valley below. The mist was rising gently from the lush palm lined valley, it was the closest I have come to paradise.
Castello Jasper is immaculately furnished, without being pretentious, with three bedrooms upstairs and one downstairs, very comfortable with wonderful views. The house is large enough to be able to get away from each other. The salt water pool is long enough to swim a few laps each day, it feels like you are in the middle of the rice paddy .
There are a number of options for activities in the area: firstly you can just relax around the pool with the wonderful view and do absolutely nothing. Castello Jasper is the perfect getaway to do absolutely nothing, but relax. There are a few massage places conveniently situated just down the road.
If you feel like being a bit more energetic there are wonderful walks in the area, through the rice paddies, It is about a 30 minute walk through the rice paddies down to Ubud itself,
Castello Jasper is very conveniently situated for sight seeing, just ask Wyan to organize a car you. You can either drive up to Batur Temple, or the hot springs at Lake Batur, or to the mysterious Gunung Kawi temples. A day trip to the Royal Bathing Pools at Tirtiganga just past Candi Dasa.
For whatever you want to do in Bali I cannot recommend Castello Jasper highly enough, the setting is fantastic, the house is superb, the service is excellent; what else can I say?

MelbourneA luxury, faultless stay from begining to end
Left on 07/05/2012 for a stay in May 2012
We stayed here for one week with friends, and it was just knockout. Away from even the hustle of Ubud, this house is just 5 minutes drive up through the town and then a walk over the rice paddies. The whole adventure was magic, a bit like a Disney piece. The first morning I woke up and looked out at the endless, green green rice fields, fringed by coconut palms - absolute calm, then it all moved. A yellow butterfly, water buffalo, the farmer all moved at once.
Well the villa is placidly ensconced in this setting - nothing for miles. Even the view from the swimming pool is nothing short of amazing. Great beds, airconditioned rooms at night and a tranquil lounge and bale to sit around and read, listen to music, watch videos. We did none of that -- we took the G&T; at sunset and then went to any one of the great restaurants in town (Beware the french place up an alley. the menu is 6 pages long and it is all terrible)and even better for lunch. Breakfast is served up by Wan and his wife who are constantly pleasant and attentive from and who possess phantom ablility to arrive and disappear.
It was a seamless stay - from being collected at the airport, the recommendations for activities like the downhill bike-ride to arranging taxis, suggesting restaurants - an impeccable stay.
Then of course I could go on about Bali and its people...whew!
