Description from the owner
Two charming interconnected antique teak gladaks set in beautiful gardens over a pond with a waterfall. It is one of five buildings set in Pondok Wahyu, a collection of antique teak Javanese buildings on a gorgeous plot on Sayan ridge overlooking delightful wide jungle valley. The site is very quiet with no road noise, just the sound of the jungle, water, birdsong and the occasional Balinese ceremony echoing down the valley. Absolute old Bali magic.
The twin gladaks are two wooden houses connected by an elevated wooden deck over a pond. There is a double bed in the large gladak and a double bed in the small gladak. They share an out...Read more

Additional Location Information
The twin gladaks are one of a handful of wooden buildings forming Pondok Wahyu (meaning revelation) on Sayan ridge, an exclusive area of beautiful dwellings and exotic five star hotels. We are ten minutes from downtown Ubud with its many attractions and the owners live on the property much of the year. Indulge yourself in a spa treatment or have a massage at home. Do some yoga or tai chi in one of the many centres - the Yoga Barn - being the most famous. You can just drop in and sample the many different styles on offer or organise a teacher to come to the house. Try one of the many spas and treat yourself to anything from an hour's manicure or foot massage to a fully supported seven day detox. If raw food and yoga aren't your thing then don't worry there are many other delights that await you. Try freewheeling down Mount Agung (the local volcano) or rafting down the river Agung. Try your hand at painting, ceramics, textiles. Find some of Bali's more sacred sites with specialised tours that can be arranged on request. There are many shamans and healers who are surprisingly accessible and incredibly effective. Ubud originally means medicine and it is a truly remarkable destination as well as the cultural heart of Bali. Balinese culture is very refined and has an extraordinary spectrum of expression covering every art form. All this is accessible in Ubud, there are legong shows and kecak dances almost every night as well as puppet shows depicting scenes from the Ramayana and Mahabarata. Ubud is one of the world centres for wellness in all its forms. There is a huge variety of spas ranging from humble rooms in Balinese houses to world beating day spas in truly spectacular settings. There are also many healers operating here in many modalities both Balinese traditional healers and highly gifted westerners practicing everything from breath work to Jungian therapy to cranio-sacral work. It is quite simply one of the best places on our beautiful planet to rest, recuperate and reconnect.
Ubud also has a plethora of restaurants and cafes ranging from raw food temples like Alchemy to out and out gourmand dining like Mosaic. The range, quality and value for money are absolutely first class.
The easiest way to deal with transport is to hire a bike (either motorised or push). For longer distances it is easier to hire a car and driver for any length of time. Transfers from central Ubud or the airport can be arranged.
