The Hague, NetherlandsBest bed I ever slept in
Left on 01/23/2013 for a stay in January 2013
For me it is very important to have a soft and comfortable bed and had bad nights even in expensive 5 star hotels.
The tempurpedic bed was super delightful and it was extra good that at that location no airco was needed at night so no noise from that, but during day needed and it's good. Marvelous views over the deep valley in which the Four Seasons at Sayan (Juklia Roberts hotel when filming Eat Pray Love) sits. Sometimes gamelan music from the lounge could be heard.
The jacuzzi bath was a bit disappointing: it takes a long time to fill and it has just 2 jet streams to your back and does not get very warm.
But Lela, the american co-owner of Taksu Spa was a very nice person (and all the staff) and the pool couild be used also later than 4 PM.
The library has some 600 movie Dvds, playable on the large screen in front of the bed. Small kitchen and a special large bath in the bathroom.
The villa is surrounded by other houses but the terrace has big privacy and the great view. Best restaurant quite nearby is Gaya. The driver that this villa uses is a delightful and very nice and reliable man, Made Sumartana.
I used him for my entire 4 week stay on Bali, also when moving to other accomdations all over the island.
He saved my trip when I got into trouble after losing my bank card. I think there is no nicer man and better driver on all Bali and I often told him how pleased I was with him. He is 46 and manager of a part of Taksu Spa, the newly formed gallery, but loves to drive and guide.
I was very happy I got to know him through staying at this villa. Hire him! -

This is an incredible villa that overlooks the 4 Seasons. For a fraction of the price you get the same view and arguably better services! Randall is a great asset and gives you the beta on Bali... where to shop, where to eat, where to get out of town, etc etc. He knows everything! And he is so helpful and always seems to have fresh energy for questions I am sure he has heard hundreds of times! Great attention to detail.

The views from this villa will make you never want to leave. Why anyone would stay at the Four Seasons when Villa Taksu exists, i'll never understand. Private everything, unbelievably beautiful, the kindest people. You'll feel like you're on location for the filming of "Eat, Pray, Love"-- amazing. It's also nice to be a little out of the craziness of Ubud-- the air feels fresher, and it's quieter. Lovely.

298184Villa Taksu Made our Vacation!
Left on 04/25/2012 for a stay in April 2012
I can't express how much we enjoyed our stay at Villa Taksu. Everyone went the extra mile to make us comfortable and relaxed. It was private, intimate, and at the same time comfortable and friendly. We felt like we'd arrived at home - if only we lived in paradise!
We arrived at 1:45am for 4 nights' stay with a sick 9 month old baby, after 18 hours of travel. Despite all the clinics we called being booked out and some of the doctors out of town, Lela managed to get us an appointment for our daughter the following morning. It was such a relief for us! I can't imagine how we would have managed the vacation without Lela's help and advice.
Every morning during breakfast the house staff picked up our daughter and took her off to play while we enjoyed a quiet breakfast out on the veranda overlooking the valley below. When we asked about the sights, Made asked a few questions and set us up with the perfect itinerary! We've never been so well pampered and taken care of.
It was the most relaxing, worry-free 4 days I've had in years. -

U.S.A.We couldn't have had a better experience in Bali!
Left on 08/16/2011 for a stay in August 2011
Sadly, we are approaching the end of our two week stay at the Villa Taksu Riverview Suite. Lela, the Property Manager, couldn't do enough for us, steering us to the best restaurants, arranging massages both at the Spa and on our own terrace by the swimming pool, setting us up with a wonderful driver, Madeh, and making certain that every day was perfect. Breakfast each day was lovely; we had only to whisper about what we might like and it would appear, as if by magic. Lela even located a Bali source of bagels for us, which made the New Yorkers in us feel right at home! But home never had the benefit of our staff of three gracious Balinese, who handled every detail of housekeeping, catering, laundry etc. graciously and always with a smile. We had every advantage offered by our nearby luxury hotel, but without the luxury
bill! We were just a short drive away from the bustle of Ubud, which was happy for us. Ubud was there when we craved a little "action", but then we had our own quiet retreat to return to. Perfect! -

Left on 01/08/2010 for a stay in January 2010
We were lucky enough to find Villa Taksu and stayed there one night in January 2010. We truly could not have found a more beautiful and relaxing place to stay. We arrived and were very warmly welcomed and shown around. We watched the sunset over the beautiful rice paddies and far off mountains sitting on the huge patio. The villa overlooks the Four Seasons Hotel and we felt like we were the lucky ones to be staying in this villa perched so perfectly on the hillside above the river and valley below. Everything was clean and well-cared for comfortable. We had a great breakfast, and a lovely stay. We got there on scooters, and I would recommend having a car, scooter, or taxi for transport there and and around town. We hope to go back whenever we get the chance. Enjoy!

What a delightful view, morning, noon and night. This is an absolutely lovely
place to call home in Bali. Gives a lovely sense of living within Sayan Village, in
a private nest, cradled in the arms of Mother Nature.

Villa Taksu is spectacularly located above one of Bali's river canyons and in sight of some of the volcanos. The staff is a delightful group of helpful and informative people. This place could be the edge of Paradise.

this Villa has the loveliest location and the folks who live there have spared nothing to make it perfect in ambiance, great staff, excellence in food offerings and good vibes. It is unbeatable in the natural wonder of a view...truly breathtaking. The photos just begin to do it justice.

ConnecticutPeace and Serenity near the Four Seasons Ubud
Left on 12/10/2009 for a stay in July 2007
My teenage daughter and I stayed at Villa Taksu for a week, and were charmed by the lovely location, the well-appointed furnishings, and the warmth of the staff. It has a gorgeous view of the river and the rice terraces across the way, and the Four Seasons (which is in walking distance. The suite we had was large, and separated into two sections so we each had our own queen sie beds in private areas. We enjoyed the breakfast each morning, and found the location convenient to the sights of Ubud, although a car is necessary. Randall and his staff were very helpful with suggestions for restaurants and tours, and other destinations in Bali not to miss. This was our first trip to Bali and we felt truly pampered and catered to from the moment they met us at the airport to when they dropped us off in Nusa Dua. This was a vacation we will never forget!

In June this year I had a chance to travel to Bali. And stayed in Villa Taksu located in Ubud, in a central location close to everything. I have traveled and stayed in a lot of places and I must say this was my best experience. Service was amazing everyone makes sure that you have everything you need and make you comfortable. Of course all the food is organic and amazing all the produce comes from their own organic farm that is located on top of the mountain with no pollution in sight. It is a very different experience than staying in a large hotel everything has a personal touch that makes it that much special. The location is amazing central to Ubud so you can walk to everything but the best is the breath taking view you get to see every morning when you get up, mountains and trees and rice fields. What I like also was the smile on every persons face when you get up in the morning and all the way through the end of the day.
I will recommend everyone to stay at Villa Taksu and I hope to keep going back there. -

We stayed at Villa Taksu last June and had a truly wonderful and magical stay there. To say that the views are spectacular is almost an understatement!
The rooms are extremely lovely and comfortable and our hosts Randall and Lela made sure our every need was taken care of.
It is convenient to Ubud and everything it has to offer.
Bali is enchanting and to experience it while staying at the Villa Taksu will only enhance it for you. My only complaint is that we were not able to stay longer!
