we have just returned from 3 nights at Chapung Se Bali Villa. The design and layout of the Pavilions and villas makes this place a little spot of paradise. Overlooking rice paddy fields and palms, it is very peaceful. We travelled with our 5 and 3 year old and they loved it. The staff are so welcoming, the place was spotless and the furniture in the whole complex was to die for. There were shuttles running 3 times a day to Ubud, but with the villas as big as they are, why leave!

If your after a place that has all the comforts of an urban luxe pad, but set in a tropical jungle surrounding with a designer's touch look no further than Chapung se Bali.
We stayed in the 2 bedroom Villa and it was perfect for our family of 5. The pool was devine and the furniture had the styling you certainly won't find in any other bali villa. I am an architect and my wife is in fashion and obviously the owners share a similar sensibility and appreciation for good design.
We even extended our stay and extra 2 nights to enjoy the villa, its surrounds and the generous hospitality. Would highly recommend an extended stay if you plan to visit Ubud. You won't be disappointed. -

I so enjoyed my visit that I have already recommended Chapung Se Bali to a friend visiting Bali from Thailand. The setting of the resort is breath-taking and serene while the resort itself offers privacy and personalized service with class. It is also a great jumping off point for adventures beyond Ubud and the staff of happy to help you arrange anything you can imagine. I especially appreciate the in-villa kitchen amenities, and the resort kitchen that will deliver food to your villa.

Terrific place just outside Ubud with wonderful villas among the rice fields.
I've been really impressed by the quality of the service and how warm and friendly the personnel is. One of the very few cases I've "felt like at home" thanks to the support of the whole staff.
Once the new restaurant goes live (July'11) this place is simply perfect.

Although they forgot to pick up us from the airport and didn't have our booking when we arrived by taxi at midnight they were very accommodating. To make up for the mistake they gave us a free transfer on departure.
As this was our honeymoon they also threw in a flowerbath, room decoration and the yummiest chocolate cake in ubud on the second night.
The Villa itself was wonderful. You could jump in the pool from both the Bedroom & bathroom doors and everything was huge.
The butlers were kind and helpful but probably stayed too lon. I wasn't sure if they sometimes kept talking to wait for you to give them a tip.
Careful when paying for spa treatments in the room. I paid for a 1.5 hour treatment & my husband got a 30 min one but the ladies both finished at the same time after 1 hour and they didn't do everything that they were suposed to with mine. They charged us for 2.5 hours. We didn't say anything because we both enjoyed our treatments anyhow and it was a matter of $5.
All in all, it was a great place to stay. If they make a mistake they will do a heap to make it up to you. Breakfast was always good. Didn't have to fill in forms and decide on a time. Could eat in villa or restaurant which has spectacular views and we often had all to ourselves.
