      Magnifique !!

Left on 05/23/2013 for a stay in May 2013

      Stunning!!!

Left on 04/18/2013 for a stay in March 2013

This place exceeded all of our expectations... It is truly stunning. The pictures really don't do it justice. Sure it was a bit out of Ubud. But really that is its charm. The driver Made is very happy to take you into Ubud and when you come back you are in this stunning environment. Rooms were huge and the bathrooms were an absolute Joy to use, being open to the rice fields we never wanted to get out. It was perfect for our family being 3 adults and 7 kids between 17 - 10. Nothing was a problem staff were very helpful and we felt safe knowing security was there. Thanks for a wonderful holiday

Amazing weekend for group of 10

Left on 03/27/2013 for a stay in March 2013

We spent a weekend in Ubud at this villa as a group of 10 college students and interns from Singapore. We wanted the weekend to be filled with relaxation as well as adventure and were able to do both. The villa is gorgeous and the pool and rice terraces are beautiful. The only problem is that the wireless internet did not work at all all weekend, but that only allowed us to enjoy the villa more. The staff was great. The driver and manager were very helpful in arranging tours. The villa is pretty much in the middle of nowhere, so use the driver! The surround sound system is fantastic and allowed us to pretty much be as loud as possible knowing we couldn't disturb anyone.

      A refaire

Left on 02/18/2013 for a stay in February 2013

      Lovely house and serene location

Left on 01/20/2013 for a stay in January 2013

The house is very well appointed and spacious. It suited the 9 of us really well. The location is a bit remote (20-25 minutes outof Ubud) although that is one of the benefits as well. The location in the rice fields is fabulous. If one is well organised and can book drivers ahead of time then it would be the best of both worlds.

The staff were helpful but did not demonstrate a lot of initiative. Willing to help once you asked but likely just inexperienced.

The location was great for visiting the temples (which were north of us and 30 minutes or so drive. We visited Mt Batur while here and it was spectacular!!

Lovely setting but too remote and basic accommodation

Left on 01/10/2013 for a stay in December 2012

Lovely views of countryside but you need a car as 20 minutes from Ubud's shops and restaurants.
Wouldn't call it luxury as no kitchen equipment to speak of even though fridge and plates indicate self catering possible - no oven or hob or even a kettle!
Lizards/frogs crawled all over our clothes in the dressing room in the night, leaving poo everywhere.
Staff helpful but v limited English.
      Dvd player but no Dvds/books/games.
      Pool area good.
      Would not return.

Quietly tucked away in the hills of Ubud

Left on 01/05/2013 for a stay in January 2013

Villa alise is located about 25 mins (by moped) up the windy mountain roads from Ubud center. Surrounded by rice paddy fields, it's definitely a place for peace and tranquility. There were 9 of us that shared the villa and there was definitely ample space for everyone.

Staff and manager, Made, were very friendly and took care of all our needs. Meals are not included, so if you want breakfast, lunch or dinner, you can order from the Villa's menu which is not ridiculously priced but it would have been nice if we could've just given them groceries money and our meals prepared without charge.

      Overall a great stay :)

My parents and i spent an incredible two weeks at Villa zen. The location was ideal. 15 minutes from ubud center and set amongst the rice fields. A perfect place to relax and enjoy Bali yet not far from the action of ubud. Staff was very nice and helpful catering to all needs.
Thank you to our agent natalia for working hard to find the perfect place.

      Wonderful Vacation!

Left on 11/17/2012 for a stay in October 2012

For our trip to Bali we travelled as 3 familys - 6 adults and 6 children ranging in age from 7 to 13. The Villa alise was perfect for us. Each room had a nice big bed with two pull out beds for the children. Each room had a big walk-in closet for storage and a nice outdoor bathroom. The villa is a significant distance from Ubud (maybe 20 minutes) but it was very relaxing. On the good side it was nice to be out in the smaller villages in the middle of rice fields. Walking into the villages and experiencing the local culture was great. On the bad side there was no way to get into town. The manager was very good at organizing cars to get us where we needed to go but you needed to plan ahead. The food was excellent and the selection better than I expected for not being in a restaurant, but again you need to plan ahead to give them an opportunity to get the food. The children loved the pool. There is plenty of room to spread out and relax. The villa was perfect for us and what we were looking for to experience Bali.

Nice environment but service could be better

Left on 10/14/2012 for a stay in September 2012

First of all, the villa is not technically wheelchair accessible as it claims, i.e. there are steps to enter the villa and a wheelchair can't get into the toilet.

The place has a nice environment, clean and surrounded by peaceful rice farm.

The staff is kind and helpful in general. But you need to beware a few things. The villa serves a food menu. The cooking quality is not quite consistent. Don't trust the manager's recommendation heartily. We knowingly got ripped off on some services and catering he ordered on behalf of us.

After spending time and Gili island and Seminyak we spent our last few days at alise. What a way to end the trip, absolutely stunning with a magnificent pool and views of the rice fields to match.
The bedrooms were huge with lovely bathrooms and the staff were brilliant. We invited our drivers family around to spend the day in the pool and for lunch and dinner. The staff were fantastic with them as well.
If you book here you can't go wrong, liaising with Gerard over the internet was also fantastic with him getting back to you within the day in regards to the booking.

      great place to stay !!

      A Pituresque and Peaceful Escape

Left on 08/07/2012 for a stay in August 2012

My extended family (a group of 9) have just returned from Bali where we stayed at the Villa alise for 3 nights. The landscape surrounding the villa is simply stunning and makes you feel instantly relaxed. The villa itself is lovely and perfect for families. With plenty to do in the area I wish we had had more time to just stay at the villa and relax around the gorgeous pool. Making our stay even better was all of the staff at the Villa. They were among the friendliest and most helpul people I have ever met. I woud absolutely recommend the villa to other travellers and would love to return sometime.

      Paradise!

Left on 07/04/2012 for a stay in June 2012

We had a great time at this villa! Peaceful and perfect place for a big extended family or 2 families with kids. There are 3 large bathrooms, all with attached bath. Very comfy beds and perfect scenery to wake up to every morning. The drive thru the village and the view across the rice paddies is a one of a kind experience you can only get in this part of Bali. It is short drive from the Ubud area so you will be more comfortable having a rental car, but well worth it to get out of town and experience true relaxation at this villa. The nearby market (20 minutes drive) has everything you need including international brands of diapers, baby foods, cheese, wine, etc to make your stay at the villa like home! Only rated service a bit lower as the house staff is not so experience yet with going above and beyond to assist international guest, but they will help with anything that you ask for help with. Owner was very nice to deal with. Would stay here again as it is a short distance drive (10 minutes to the Tegallalang view of terraced rice fields and some other interesting village temples and scenery.

      Do you like Rats ?

Left on 06/11/2012 for a stay in May 2012

The villa alise is located about 10 minutes away up north of Ubud in another village. You are in the middle of nothing, which is kinda pretty but... we had to leave the house before the end of our 10 days contract because of new and unexpected roommates !
First it was some medium size lizards. I'm not sure exactly what kind of lizard it was, I'm not an expert.
Find with that, that's pretty normal regarding the area we stayed.
Then, we heard some weird and creepy noises at night in the 2 bedrooms upstairs. Forget about sleeping.. The rats were with us. On the roof, in the dressing room or in the kitchen.
They have access to everywhere. We decided to leave the house after 3 difficult nights.

Except that the house is great, the view is pretty... But what was a little paradise when we arrive became a nightmare.
The cleaning also is not as good as expected but that would be ok if the problem was only that.

      DO YOU LIKE BALI ???

We are very sorry and we apologize to this guest about this problem.

The VILLA ALISE is a new house and never we have had an experience like this one. You can go to see and read the goods appreciations= 7 comments with 5 / 5 on my french site

      http://www.homelidays.com/ubud/maison-villa366029fr1.htm

For us , the problem is really serious, and we ask to specialist to make the necessary , with a manager and the staff ( 5 peoples), to take the small shrew away from the house .

VILLA ALISE is in the middle part of the rice land, and the area is quiet , calm, and the forest around the house is so beautiful. The unique culture of Bali is resilient persitent and very much alive in the small villages all around the House.

Unfortunately, when it's time to cut the rice during fews days it could be possible to see some smalls shrews when there are disturbed in their habitat .

For next year at the same season we will be very vigilant about this problem.

The level of service in villa Alisée is really good, and the staff has the true spirit of hospitality and try to do any things for the guest.

In Bali , the sophisticated and the primitive cohabit amicably.
So you can stay in the ALISE VILLA ( 400m²) with all the comfort + a large swimming pool , in the traditionnal area without tourist, with an easy mind, or if you prefer you can stay in the great hotel with all the people, noice, disturbing etc... , but the price, by day will be not the same than ALISE VILLA !
      It will be you choise.

Please excuse me for my poor quality English (I am French).
