  We stayed a couple of nights before leaving for home (America). We found the villa by accident, and were glad we did. It was lovely, and the swimming pool just outside was magnificent. The owners, a young couple named Iwan and Made, were more than gracious. The villa is tucked away about a 10 minute walk off the main street in its area. It is right next to a rice field. As the weather was very humid, we really appreciated not only the pool but the air conditioning. The outdoor shower is really a plus. The villa is most comfortable. There is quite a lot of garden area, and the property is right next to a rice field

  We had the honour of being the first guests in villa d'uma and we loved it. It is owned by a young Balinese family; Made and Wayan who made us feel very welcome and at home in our 5-days stay.
  
  The villa is situated in the rice fields in Penestanan, outside Ubud. It is not directly accessible by car; you have to walk (or drive a scooter) from the main road for about 10 minutes along a path down to the villa. The walk is quite nice, and the longer you stay in the area, the more of the locals will say hello and exchange a few words with you on the way. Don't worry about carrying your luggage when you check in and out; the owner of the house will arrange for it to be transported on a scooter.
  
  You can walk to the center of Ubud in 20 minutes or take a local taxi (just go up to the main road and somebody will offer you a taxi within seconds). We usually paid 30.000 Rupiah (3USD)for the ride.
  
  The villa is brand new and the decor is beautiful, modern with a touch of traditional. The outdoor bathroom is fabulous. When it rains you don't need the shower:-)
  
  The kitchen and sitting area is open facing the pool. The bedroom is spacious and airconditioned, and the continental bed is big an very comfortable.
  
  The garden is also newly planted and still needs a little time to grow lush. The pool is around 3x6m and perfect for cooling off. The property is surrounded by rice paddies on all four sides. The wall surrounding the property is semi-high on the sides so you can look out on the rice fields (and the people working in the fields may be able to catch a glimpse of you as well). The front wall facing the walking path is high so people walking by can't look in. Not many mosqitoes here, by the way!
  
  The service provided by Wayan and Made is of 4* hotel
  standard. The house is thoroughly cleaned every day. At the same time they made us feel like private and valued guests; brought us fruit and stayed for a chat if we wanted to.
