Villa Budi is a beautiful luxury two bedroom villa set on the edge of a hugh rice paddy with simply the best views in Ubud. Endless rice fields, an amazing infinity pool and wonderful wrap around decks facing north to Mt Agung and Mt Batukaru will give you breathtaking sunsets and sunset views. It's a quiet contemplative place to unwind (unbelievably peaceful) yet only minutes from the cultural capital Ubud - welcome to paradise!
A stunning view over almost 270 degrees defines Villa Budi. About 4 meters above the rice fields almost due south and west to the mountains and terraces to the northeast, you'll live on the huge wrap-around outside decks and soak up Bali into your very bones. Villa Budi is built in a work of tropical minimalist style with a soaring bamboo interior roof structure that is a work of art in itself. Granite and terrazzo for the uniqueness and comfort of cool stone. Designer bathrooms for each beautifully luxurious bedroom. Ceiling fans for additional tropical cooling and fully folding glass and louver doors to allow the outside in...and the inside out. Villa Budi features a large entrance hall, indoor/outdoor dining and living areas with classical handmade furniture and a very comfortable sofa with casual seating. There's a large well equipped kitchen with granite counters and lots of storage. The rear north-facing bedroom has a unique bed design that permits either a queen or two singles and a garden bathroom with spacious rain shower. The west facing master bedroom opens directly onto the private deck above the rice fields. Its garden bathroom has both a full tub and rain shower and a full ricefield view.
Awaken before dawn and watch the early light lift the mist over the ocean of rice and experience a Bali Sunrise right from your private deck with coffee in hand. Stay long enough and you'll experience the whole cycle of rice cultivation from planting to harvesting and the local religious festivals celebrating Bali's unique cultural heritage.Your stay includes a fabulous daily cooked breakfast prepared in your villa each morning (for four) of delicious pancakes or eggs, fresh tropical fruit tea or coffee and juice to start your day. Our onsite staff will help with all of your needs from arranging tours and sightseeing, car or scooter rental, personal laundry and sight-seeing itineraries as well as giving you tips for the best shopping and massage in Ubud. A private chef can also be arranged to cook you traditional Indonesian cuisine right in the privacy of your own villa in your fully equipped kitchen. Or, if you would like to do it yourself, book a private cooking class. Our chef is very reasonable and an amazing cook! The villa has free hi speed wifi, 2 laptop sized safes, towel service, TV/DVD, parking, laundry (by arrangement), daily staff cleaning, sun loungers both on your private deck and along the pool deck.
The huge 15 meter infinity pool at Harmony on the edge of the rice fields is only steps away from your private villa through Harmony's lush landscaping. The pool is situated on the very edge of the bluff overlooking the rice and has a shallow end seating area for relaxing after you've done your laps! It's central for use by the five villas at Harmony yet due to its size and differing guest schedules, it's rare not to have it to yourself. We don't have pool hours so feel free to take a moonlight swim at 3 am! There's a covered yoga deck too for outdoor yoga in the shade.
We are located on the edge of a huge rice paddy in the village of Lodtunduh, about 2.5 km from Ubud and not far from the Monkey Forest and all the world class shopping on Hanuman Street and the cultural activities and restaurants in Ubud. We are very centrally located for all of Bali's sights and activities. Sanur beach is close (about 12 miles) and Seminyak. Kuta and Legian are easy drives for a whole day out with a different vibe. Or you can go up the hill to Kintamani and the hot springs at Lake Batur in an hour or so. Temples abound everywhere - from Besakih, the "Mother Temple" to Tanah Lot on the ocean (two of the most famous and holy) and we can organize tours to anywhere on the island and to Lombok too....
Your villa stay also includes free wifi, a laptop sized safe, fully equipped kitchen, towels, TV/DVD, parking, laundry (by arrangement), daily staff service, nighttime security staff, a yoga deck, sun loungers and the priceless ambiance of the Harmony lifestyle.

Lodtunduh village is still mostly agricultural and its a fascinating place to experience real Bali village life which can't be found in the touristy areas. That's the lovely thing about our area of Lodtunduh village - there's a lot going on and it's a fun place to explore. After a day in busy bustling Ubud or on a temple tour or other activities, you need a place to relax. Villa Budi is the place! It's very peaceful and relaxing yet close to the "action".
Enjoy the wonderful cycle of the rice paddys at Villa Budi! Depending on when you visit you'll see the fascinating cycle of rice farming from preparing the fields, planting seedlings, thinning out the new rice, watching the ducks do their amazing dances, to harvesting, threshing and drying. It's one of the best things about visiting Harmony! The cycle is fascinating to watch no matter when you come!

Response from the owner Wendy thank you for the review. We do appreciate everything you wrote. I do want to add one thing though about our location. It is a haven away from busy crowded Ubud center - it's 2 kilometers to the monkey forest - and for transportation options if you don't want to rely on taxis we do rent scooters at the villa for $5 day and bicycles are available too. Plus car rental is cheap in Bali. Thanks again for your review and we look forward to welcoming you back to Harmony at any time.
