Description from the manager
This modern house, built in the traditional Scottish style, has uninterrupted views across Ardmair Bay to the distant Summer Isles. The conservatory allows the visitor to take full advantage of the stunning views and spectacular sunsets. The house has modern decor and a relaxed comfortable atmosphere and stands in a large area of shared and unfenced heather moorland on a rocky knoll overlooking Ardmair Bay. One twin bedroom and the walk-in shower room are on the ground floor.
The area is very popular with hill-walkers, climbers and mountain bikers and there is excellent fishing to be had. The house provides an ideal base to explore the...Read more

Oosterbeek, Netherlandscomfortable home in splendid scenery
Left on 07/17/2012 for a stay in June 2012
Everything we needed was there.
The house was comfortable and nicely furnished.
The view over the bay was a bonus.
The location near Ullapool (shopping) and the surrounding hills (walking) was excellent for our purposes.
The weather was the best of the UK for that week, we were very lucky.

Left on 06/22/2012 for a stay in May 2012
house key posted to us prior to travelling;linens collected and fresh left for us to change mid holiday.
superb property, which is cleaarly a family home, with a few house rules.
the view, raised up over the bay, is wonderful and the sunsets stunning especially from gin and tonic rock in the front garden.
Ullapool 3 mies away has a rustic bakery and a smokehouse like no other (we tried a few)also a couple of good restaurants (the mariners bar especially good)
The cruise to the summer isles offered sightings of many species of sea and air creatures and the post office on tanara mor was a quirky extra
sadly tanara mor caught fire at the end of our stay due to the relentless sun and the red glow lasted until we left
we will definitely return!

Left on 07/25/2011 for a stay in June 2011
The property went rented for a week was flawless and was more than we could of hoped for. Lovely views, very well looked after and a pleasure to stay in. I would recommend it to anyone.
The only disappointment was the Mackay agency who we rented through. I found they lacked any quality in customer service and did not enjoy their communications. -

Superb situation, wonderful views, spacious comfortable accommodation. Conservatory is a real asset both for warmth and views. Well equipped kitchen missing only scales and a measuring jug. Handy to Ullapool to the south for shopping and to assynt and Sutherland to the north for exploration of Scotland's wilderness area. Lovely clear main roads and polite drivers on the narrow roads with passing places. Key was posted to us before we travelled and we posted it back, plenty of instructions and a couple of emergency contact numbers - which we did not need.
Only downside is the requirement to clean before we leave - a good two hours work on Saturday morning. We would much prefer to pay extra and have cleaning included.

EdinburghGreat Location with fantastic views
Left on 06/02/2011 for a stay in May 2011
The booking and receiving/sending of keys was very efficient and friendly.
The location was really lovely, whilst in the house we spent most of our time in the conservatory, which had great views of the Summer isles and Ben Mor Coigach. It was a short walk to the beech.
The bedrooms were very nice and spacious.
A couple of slight criticisms, the cooker, which was an electric with solid hotplates. These are hard to control and take ages to warm up. There could possible be a few more utensils and some scales. The single beds were a bit short our parents.
The best thing about the house is the view and location, ideally situated to explore assynt and the Coigach area & it was very comfortable.
The worst thing was taking the rubbish to the Ullapool car park. -

Left on 11/05/2010 for a stay in May 2010
return even better as there is now a lovely conservatory, we had stayed there some years earlier. house had a very homely feel. location is more than 5 star, and easy to get to and from. best has to be the view and the ever changing weather conditions! least liked was that we had to clean it and it was not cheap!, some of the kitchen stuff was looking a bit tired but thats only minor. thank you, great holiday

Left on 11/04/2010 for a stay in August 2010
Great location, close to Ullapool for eating out and live music as well as food and gift shopping. Good to have conservatory for cosy viewing of sea/sunsets. Easy to get out into great walking countryside or beaches. Comfortable cottage, beds etc. Adequately equipped kitchen, real foodies might appreciate more eg wok, steamer, huge pan for mussels.
