Rose Cottage is a characterful mid terrace sandstone cottage located in the picturesque village of Greystoke. The village has a castle, village green, traditional pub and shop, there is also a nearby racing stables where the horses can regularly be seen being trained throughout the village.       Lovely feel to cottage. Everything we needed provided except an empty cupboard to store food!
      Didn't get to explore village and pub dure to other engagements, but would visit again

      Perfect Little Cottage

      We booked a week holiday in this cottage as a last minute get-away not knowing the village or area and we were delighted with both the area and the cottage.

      My partner and I and our little girl (and our little puppy) were very comfortable in this very well equipped house.
      We found the cottage cosy and tastefully decorated. On arrival we found the house very clean and well stocked with towels etc.

      It has a lovely little well kept garden to the rear which was nice to sit out in.

      The picturesque village of Greystoke itself is set in beautiful surroundings. It has a post office which sells some groceries too and a fantastic pub next to the green.
      We found it an excellent base to visit the Lakes and the Scottish borders.
      We all had a fantastic week in this cottage and would very much like to stay there again!

      We really enjoyed our stay at this property. Even though it was very cold, wet & windy outside, but once inside, we were warm as toast.
      The stairs are quite steep, but normal for an old terraced property.
      We would thoroughly recommend the property.

      Cottage not ready on arrival

      Wewere dissapointed on arrival, because the cottage was in the same state as left by the previous tennants. We had to go away for an 1 1/2 hours in the rain at 5 30 P.M. The cleaner was most appologetic and couldn`t have been nicer. However my husband was extremely cross and it spoilt the beginning of our holiday. My husband also didn`t think the property was worth 4 stars. I however loved the place, village and holiday.
      Perhaps a little compensation might have helped!!

      We did receive a complaint regarding the cleanliness of this cottage, however, the cleaner was contacted immediately and rectified this issue. We are sorry to hear that you felt you had to leave the property while the cleaner was there. Our Caretakers and Housekeepers are more than happy to work around you to ensure that your holiday is disturbed as little as possible.

      Rose Cottage is a beautiful property situated in the ideal location for exploring the Lake District and National Parks. We hope we can welcome you back to one of our properties again in the future.
