We found our accomodation to be exactly as describe and was not disappointed. The village itself is off the beaten track but to be honest we don't like being in the busy parts. Most places to visit are in easy reach by car. The pool facilities were complimentary and was very pleasant. We was slightly disappointed to have to pay for the laundry cleaning of a bedsheet which one of our toddlers had an accident on and found a discrepency with the staffs cost to the price within the welcome pack. Otherwise we found the staff helpful and kind.

Whitbarrow Village was a lovely relaxing place to stay, the cottage was very nice as well and well equipped for all your needs for self catering. The one down side was that there wasn't a little shop on site to buy a newspaper or a few grocery goods. Would definitely go back.

Thank you for offering us the opportunity to review the above cottage on your review site. However, we did send the owners an email communication 3 days ago expressing our concerns about our stay and still await their reply
We would prefer to speak to them privately about these concerns and feel that perhaps this would be what they would prefer also rather than have our concerns listed here Read more

Accomadation was good although our shower (in the ensuite) was broken on the second day of our week's stay and could not be fixed by a very perservering engineer and we did get a free meal for 4 (~100GBP) at the restaurant as compensation for this.
Other problems -Parking was a major problem and as it was peak time the place was full but not enough parking space for the full capacity. The other problem was no onsite/grocery shop for a self catering site which is at least 7 miles from a supermarket or a grocery store.
We had a 3 Bed Cottage, well laid out. Sleeping on ground floor and Lounge and Dining on First Floor. We used the Leisure Facilities and Bar. It was a great location to get to the Lakes and Hiking. We had a wonderful time!

Well eqipped cottage, a bit difficult for mobility challenged Had to buy a frying pan because the one suppied is virtually useless. the electrical sockets in twin room virtually inaccessable because of the beds.
