Deer How is a large family cottage, sleeping 9 it is ideally located half a mile from the southern tip of Lake Ullswater, nestling into the lower lakeland slopes. The property has a wealth of traditional features including beams, oak floors, wood burning stoves. In the warmer months the large garden is a haven for peace and relaxation.
Patterdale is a small village nestled into the slopes at the southern tip of Lake Ullswater. We received excellent service. We had an initial problem with getting the heating to work but this was sorted out with help from Yvonne (the owner). otherwise the house was ideal - spacious and well-equipped. We are old Lake District hands and were already familiar with Patterdale - the fact that we keep coming back says it all! There is nothing not to like!

It was my 30th birthday weekend so 10 of us including 2 babies (+ 2 dogs) stayed at deerhow. Everyone had a simply superb time and we definitely want to go back soon as we didnt manage to walk all the hills around us. Highly recommended. The only bugbear was having to buy firewood from local shops which was expensive. Everything was spot on :)
