great little cottage, really felt like home from home, has everything that you need, and the heating is great, only one downfall the mattress on the double bed needs a mattress topper as its very uncomfatable

Owners were very friendly & lovely welcome pack on arrival.

Set the car in a different direction each day & found some lovely small villages & all the major attractions were a short drive away.

      Fantastic Break~Great Cottage!

Left on 03/18/2010 for a stay in December 2009

We stayed over New Year! The cottage was decorated with lovely Christmas decorations. The children loved them! The place was very clean and nicely furnished! The view from the upper floor windows was fantastic! Ulverston is a lovely town and it's a great base to visit the area. I would love to go back there again. The owners were very helpful! There was only one thing wrong on our whole stay and it was the parking. We parked outside a neighbours house a little further up and were told to move! All in all Fabulous holiday and a wonderful cottage!

      Outcast Cottage

Left on 12/19/2009 for a stay in October 2009

Out cast Cottage was clean and comfortable. The location was fine except for the traffic noise to the local trading estate but we had read about this so knew what to expect. The cottage was ideal for touring the South Lakes and the only issues we have are that there appears to be dampness along the left side of the passage wall and that the central heating could have been more flexible with more than an hour in the morning and the same at night. Overall, we enjoyed our holiday at Outcast Cottage and would return again.

A wonderful week in a very wel equipped cottage

Left on 12/03/2009 for a stay in October 2009

We found the cottage very well equipped and very clean. It was set in a very nice location within easy reach of shops and the Lake District. The views from the bedroom windows were stunning and we loved every minute of our stay. Being as the evenings were chilly we had a lovely fire, coal which could be purchased from the local Booths supermarket.
We had a wonderful week and wouldn't hesitate to return. Now looking at cottages for 2010.
Thank you Sykes it was a lovely week.

wonderful cottage, had everything you needed

Left on 12/02/2009 for a stay in September 2009

This is a wonderful holiday cottage, peaceful and expertly furnished, walks available from your front door for low level lake walks. The welcome was excellent which including a bottle of wine. My husband and I had a great relaxing holiday, walking for 5-6 hours then getting back to the cottage for a relaxing evening sitting outside in the pretty enclosed garden which had a seating area, barbecue and outdoor games if still feeling energetic. The only down side was that it was quite isolated, the description when we booked it, stated pub and shops 10 minute walk, but this was not the truth, maybe it was by car, but it would take at least 30 minutes to walk, and who wants to do that when they have been walking all day. We did not go out for a meal at all whilst staying there, but thankfully the kitchen was fully equipped and we ate in every night. If you don't mind cooking I would thoroughly recommend this cottage, plus it takes pets (although not allowed upstairs)
