Sleeping up to nine in four bedrooms, this stylish, spacious property is set in an elevated position with wonderful views, a few minutes walk from the amenities of Ulverston. Oaklands is a stylish, quality property in an elevated location a few minutes walk from the amenities of Ulverston. There are four bedrooms – a family room with three singles, a double, a king-size double with en-suite bathroom, and a king-size four poster double with en-suite shower room. There is also a family bathroom and ground floor cloakroom. The fitted kitchen is well-equipped, there is a dining room, a sitting room with open fire, a summer room and a readi...ng room with gas fire. Outside is ample off road parking and expansive grounds including a large patio with furniture. With Ulverston’s shops and restaurants on the doorstep, and the rest of the Lakes within easy reach, Oaklands makes a welcoming family retreat throughout the year.

Amenities: Gas central heating with gas fire in reading room and open fire in sitting room. Electric oven and hob, microwave, American style fridge/freezer with ice maker, washing machine, tumble dryer in utility, dishwasher, TV with Sky HD, DVD, CD, WiFi. Fuel, power and starter pack for open fire inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Cot and highchair on request. Off road parking for 4 cars. Expansive main gardens, large private patio area with furniture. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shop and pub 5 mins walk. Note: Max. 3 children including infants. Note: There are a number of steps leading to the property and many internal steps, therefore it is not suitable for the less mobile guests.

Region: Impressive mountains, open fells and clear-water lakes, the Lake District has it all. From walking in the mountains to exhilarating watersports or just a gentle cruise on a steam-powered yacht, Cumbria is the perfect holiday destination.

Town: The ancient market town of Ulverston is a settlement steeped in tradition. This charming retreat still holds a street market every Thursday and Saturday. Today it is best known as a festival town and hosts numerous events throughout the year. These include walking and art festivals in the summer months and the renowned Dickensian festival in late November. One of the town's most famous residents was Stan Laurel and Ulverston is now home to the only Laurel and Hardy museum in the world. Other facilities and points of interest include a wide range of shops, cafes, restaurants, pubs, a cinema and a leisure centre. Winter Short Breaks (WSB) are available at many properties in the "Winter" period - subject to availability. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. Off Season Breaks (OSB) are available at many properties in parts of the "Low" and "Mid" periods - subject to availability. The price for a 3 night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday. "Last Minute Breaks" (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the "LOW", "MID", "HIGH", "PEAK", "XMAS" and "NEW YEAR" periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. LMBs can be booked within one week of the start date of the holiday.

  Words cannot describe just how perfect "The Oaklands" is. Stayed there in June, 2012 with family members (some of us from Canada and England). My cousin in England made the arrangements for the rental. The cottage had absolutely everything you needed, just a short walk into the Town of Ulverston to pick-up groceries. Each room was beautifully decorated and very comfortable - could have stayed there longer. The owners have put thought into every detail of each room. Plenty to keep you occupied despite the weather. The view from the cottage was spectacular - couldn't get enough especially from the Sun Room (my favourite room). Definitely want to go back there again one day and bring our friends - once we master the driving in the UK or figure out another mode of transportation to help us get there. Thank you so much for such a wonderful experience. Sure wish we owned this place.

  We stayed here for a week from 30th March 2012. Our group was 4 couples and everyone enjoyed our stay. The property is stunning and everything you need is available. It is a 5 min walk to the town and close to a lot of attractions in the lakes. Would definitely recommend. The only slight thing is bedrooms 3 & 4 don't have wardrobes or rails so is a bit awkward hanging clothes but this didn't spoil the stay.
