Singapore, SingaporeMore than expected; exactly what we needed.
Left on 07/10/2012 for a stay in February 2012
Our family of 4 couples came from 4 different parts of the globe to converge for the first time and to get to know each other in Bali. Villa albia is designed to deliver both intimacy and social spaces and we managed to profit from both. The staff's service was professional and warm in the face of a myriad of guest requests. i had researched Balinese cuisine beforehand and was responsible for sorting out the daily menu for those who wanted to eat in. The cooks were so good at handling the marketing and delivering a daily fiesta of food including helpful suggestions to satisfy our palettes.. (We had a chef in our group and everyone was a foodie. ). I've been to many spas over the years and Villa albia's contracted spa services delivered excellent massages. A negative were the linens that had seen better days. Otherwise, the greatest thing about running around Bali was returning hot, tired and hungry to a villa that felt like a well-run home and dining on a serious feast!

What a wonderful place. We arrived at albia Villa after being meet at the airport. Driver was happy for us to call into the Bintang supermarket to get supplies.
We were very happy with location, it is only 10 minutes from Seminyak, close, but far enough out to be peaceful.
I cannot speak highly enough oft the staff, nothing was any trouble. They were exceptional and we have stayed in quite a few Villas over the years. The cooking and service excellent. The pool, and surrounds just lovely.
We will be staying again in a heart beat. A little hard to fing as our Daughter arrived a couple of days earlier and had trouble finding villa with a driver. Not well marked. Mia Villa is marked with a small sign on the corner of the road. Mia is the sister villa.
The only problem is getting replies to emails. The manager aspparently lives in England. The owners Singapore. If you book, feel confident the place does exist. we paid 50 percent deposit and balance a couple of weeks before we went all monies into a Singapore account. Cannot wait to book same villa next year. But remember the only problem is trying to get replies to your emails. At the end of the day it was worth it and next year I will not stress. -

Singapore and NZA wonderful family Christmas

Living as expats in Singapore, it is unusual to have all our adult children together at once. Albia Villa provided a fantastic venue for some quiet family re-bonding after a hectic year. The staff were experienced, friendly and discrete. The villa offered spaces for some quiet personal time, or generous areas for family time. We all enjoyed the food (quality and variety), and all our needs were quickly and efficiently dealt with. We hardly lifted a finger.

Fantastic Villa - perfect for our family of 4 young children and my mum!
Beautiful surroundings, great staff, all you could need and if not, the staff would o everything to help.
Chefs very good -particularly Rosita and Jewinna.
Although a few mins drive out of Seminyak, the car and driver were always available or a taxi came within minutes - all organised by the staff. The driver was great taking us out and about and showing us some 'real' Bali and not just the tourist trail.
The local Spa staff also come to the villa so can be as lazy as you like.
All in all a great rental and excellent value for money. -

Left on 06/14/2011 for a stay in November 2010
Our group of 8 (4 adults, 4 kids) stayed at albia Villa for 5 nights in November 2010.
From the moment we were met by the albia Villa driver at the airport, our stay was perfect.
Upon entering the property, you're greeted with a welcome drink, and the most beautiful kitchen / lounge / dining that flows over a koi pond into a gorgeous pool and garden area.
The four bedrooms (2 up, 2 down) all with open air bathrooms, as well as an extra toilet are on the other side of the garden.
Surrounding the pool is a small grassed area, as well as decking complete with table and chairs, sun lounges and the most amazingly comfortable outdoor couch you'll ever find. I challenge you not to fall asleep on it.
The staff at the villa are beyond reproach. They are literally at your beck and call, but fade into the background and give you complete privacy when not required.
Of particular note are Juwani and Desi as well as the villa manager, Arya.
A basic breakfast is included as part of your stay, however the staff will shop for you, and cook whatever food and whatever meals that you request. Just give them some notice. They charge you for the groceries only, and provide a receipt. The rest is complimentary. We started a kitty and left the money in a bowl at the start of our stay. This seemed to work well, as, along with breakfast foods, we used this service to keep our fridge stocked with snacks and drinks.
The staff also offer other services such as baby sitting, tour and restaurant bookings etc. They also make great blended cocktails for you to drink whilst lazing in the pool. Just show them how you like things, and away they go.
If you want something else from the team, just ask. Nothing is too much trouble.
We took a tour of the villa next door, Mia Villa, which is owned by the same people, and ended up staying there on the back end of our trip just a week later. Check out my review on that villa as well.
All in all, if I had to give anyone advice regarding albia Villa, I'd say book early. This place is a gem, and is getting very popular.
We're heading back to stay in both albia and Mia Villas in March 2012 (group of 16). I can't wait to be welcomed home by arya and his team.
Some other things to note:
Deposit - You are required to pay a 50% deposit to confirm your booking. It will take several weeks to recieve confirmation that the money has arrived. Don't panic, but don't be shy about following it up either.
Value for money - This villa offers fantastic value for money. Its around 10 minutes out of Seminyak, still close to beaches, shopping and restaurants, yet half the price of anything even close in comparison in the heart of Seminyak.
Transport - Grab a taxi or get a driver. Take a card with you the first time you go out, as some taxi drivers aren't really sure where it is. The villas are right beside Umalas stables, use that as a tool to guide drivers in the right direction.
Enjoy your stay.
