Well you won't be disappointed if you book to go, from the large copper bath and hot tub to the brilliant sonos system and the list goes on... What's really nice is the small personal touches from the lovely cake to the Body Shop toiletries by the bath. They really have made the cottage absolutely outstanding.
Kate and the team are also on hand for any advice or help during your stay, which we needed on one occasion. The problem was dealt with very quickly and we were made to feel that nothing was too much bother! She was also really great at communicating prior to us going, from the information we booked a couple of meals out which both were lovely. Definitely visit The George, which literally is 20 steps away from the cottage and do a lovely roast. Also if you can Weinmarsh farm restaurant, you need to book in advance but it really was brilliant food in a friendly environment!
We have had the best time and really didn't want to leave!! -

SwindonMost amazing wedding at Rose cottage.
Left on 05/10/2013 for a stay in March 2013
We stayed at Rose Cottage as part of our runaway wedding package. The Cottage is set in a perfect little village right opposite the pub. the decor shouts luxury and romance throughout with state of the art appliances. The attention to detail is second to none with the table beautifully set, music playing for your arrival, logs ready for the fire and marshmellows ready for toasting, not to mention the complimentary champagne on ice, luxury chocolates and the rose petals leading the way to the master bedroom. Its a cosy country cottage with a romantic parisian feel. The tin tub for two set our first night off and we had a family bath (our 7 month old baby son was with us), with lots of bubbles from the complimentary bathroom set. The mood was set by the selection of music through spotify that fills the cottage through state of the art sonos speakers controlled by an ipad or ipod touch's. the smart TV was also a creature comfort that made a nice touch. we didnt want to leave!! not to mention the hot tub. and this is just the cottage! Our wedding was perfect every touch taken care of and the summer house at millbrook all to ourselves, with one wedding a day millbrook ensures that you never share or join a queue, and allows for a very personal service. Devons answer to gretna? nowhere close, its a million times better. Millbrook has wonderful hosts and a team thats a credit to them. most recommended, cant wait to go back.

We had the joy of staying in Rose cottage for 3 days over my birthday..what a treat !!
Everything has been thought of and it's just the perfect place to kick back and relax. The hot tub was wonderful, sitting in the bubbles with a glass of champagne watching the snow falling was a very special way to spend a birthday afternoon.
Im already looking forward to coming back again...
My advise; Just go, you wont regret it.

Well what can I say..? What a beautiful place.
We arrived for a 7 night stay on Monday, and got married at Millbrook the day after. This was such a special, and magical place to host one of the most memorable days of our lives - and we wouldn't change a single thing.
Rose Cottage is luxury and opulence from top to bottom. You'll read this a million times over, but they really have thought of everything. From the body shop gift pack next to that stunning bath, to the heart shaped ice cubes in the freezer!
I work for a holiday home company in South Devon, and was a travel agent for 4 years with one of the UKs largest operators. I have never stepped foot anywhere quite this special.
There are no words to describe how impressed we were by Rose Cottage... It was just perfect. I can't remember the last time I felt so relaxed...

An absolutely perfect way to spend our minimoon. Beautiful cottage with superb decoration and gadgets. Situated in a friendly village with delightful local pub, you can have a pint and a pie then return to the cottage for a dip in the hot tub or run a bubble bath. Finish off in bath robes in front of the log fire. Perfection.

Left on 09/23/2012 for a stay in August 2012
We had a long weekend here for our mini moon. Lovely cottage with every detail thought of. The hot tub was the highlight. We used it every day. Even in the rain. Great location for trips out. Good places to eat near by. Felt we had been pampered.

We had a wonderful week in Rose Cottage. The cottage is amazing. It has every gadget and appliance you could possibly want and the decor and attention to detail is absolutely 5 star. We felt thorougly pampered and relaxed from the moment we walked in. It is in the middle of the tiny village but it is so quiet and peaceful - all we heard was the church bell chiming the hour. The pub opposite is perfect too! Not pretentious or 'bistro pub' cheffy - just really good home made food at a reasonable price. There are lots of wonderful places to visit. We loved the coast, especially Hartland where there is an abbey as well as a tiny Quay and access to cliff paths and walks. If you like gardening you are 10 minutes away from RHS Rosemoor, which is absolutely amazing. The service from Kate is first class too! We had a fantastic time and would love to return.

DorsetThe most romantic week of our lives!!!
Left on 07/26/2012 for a stay in July 2012
Oh my goodness I honestly dont know where to start! My husband and I stayed at Rose Cottage for a week during which we got married at Millbrook (Runaway package) this summer! We had the most amazing time! Rose cottage is like a little palace and we fell in love with it the second we stepped through the door!! This beautiful chocolate box style cottage sits in the middle of the pretty village of High Bickington but couldnt be more private! It is absolutely stunning inside, each room decorated to the highest standard. Its cosy elegance is out of this world! The attention to detail is outstanding from the cream tea waiting for us on arrival, to the cocktail bar, the hot tub in the garden and the copper bath made for two! My husband loved all the gadets and due to the typically rubbish english weather we spent hours relaxing by the log burner toasting marshmallows and drinking champagne!!! I highly recommend the romantic package and the breakfast package as added extras as well as the private dining! Bob, Kate and their team make everything perfect and nothing is too much trouble!!! We cannot wait to go back!!! This truely was the most romantic week of our lives!

Excellent from opening the door to the moment you leave. No detail was lefy uncovered in the information provided, and you felt at home on arrival (in fact you want it to be your home!).
A quiet village location and nice local pub yards away if you can leave the hot tub! -

My husband and I stayed at Rose Cottage for 3 nights. It is a beautiful cottage with a thatched roof in a quaint little village called high Bickington. The interior of the cottage has been decorated to a really high standard and all of the rooms are gorgeous. There are lots of modern touches, including a 3D TV, surround sound system and an Ipad. In addition to the gadgets there is a hot tub, a big copper bath and a full equipped kitchen. The attention to detail is very impressive - for example, there is an honesty bar should you fancy a drink in the evening and there are marshmallows by the fire for toasting. I can't recommend this cottage highly enough.

We stayed in rose cottage for a couple of days for a birthday treat, it was nothing but relaxation from the moment we stepped through the door, the luxurious furnishings, exceptional attention to detail, and all the fancy gadgets were outstanding! We found Kate provided impeccable service and did not leave any stone unturned, not only were we given directions, we were informed about local eateries, where to shop and which supermarkets delivered to the cottage! Ths was extremely helpful and was above and beyond any service we have received when we have stayed in five star hotels.
Everything in the cottage oozes quality, right down to basics, we absolutely adored the copper bath, hot tub and my husband was enthralled by the Bose sound system!
We found the locals to be friendly, welcoming and the local pub s defiantly worth a visit!
We will definitely be returning...we just wish it was tomorrow! -

The cottage is just perfect. Every luxury you could wish for, situated in the centre of the lovely village of High Bickington. As always Kate and Bob make sure that their guests have everything they need. We arrived to a Devon Cream tea ready for us. My husband had fun with all the gadgets, including the 3D TV. The hot tub in the garden is superb. Everthing is of teh highest quality, but the cottage retains a cosy homely feel. We had a fantastic, relaxing weekend at Rose Cottage

WorcestershireThe Perfect Romantic Retreat - Absolutley Stunning
Left on 04/05/2012 for a stay in March 2012
Wow - Rose Cottage is an absolutely stunning, beautiful, peaceful retreat. It is even better than the pictures. We have had the most wonderful weekend at Rose Cottage, the log burner in the lounge and sofa make it really cosy. We have stayed at other 5* Thatched "chocolate box” cottages, but Rose cottage is by far the best. We arrived on Friday evening and had booked the Private Dinning - a fab extra. The food was absolutely delicious, restaurant quality. The lady that cooked and served us was lovely. No fuss, and the kitchen was left just as we had found it when we arrived - Perfect! It was a lovely treat! We thoroughly enjoyed the copper bath - the bottle of Champagne from the Romantic Package was put to good use!! And the Hot Tub - is just pure relaxation, not at all overlooked in the rear garden, which is a sun trap. The attention to detail is spot on. My husband enjoyed all the toys - led 3D TV (with the glasses), Blueray/ DVD Player etc. The George is a lovely village pub, with great atmosphere, and the food is superb, great value for money, I would thoroughly recommend it. All in all we had a perfect romantic weekend, and we will defiantly be back.
