columbus, ohioFamily getaway at Union Pier
Left on 07/26/2012 for a stay in July 2012
We had a wonderful time at three gables cottage! We had family members from all over arrive in chicago and drive the short 90 min. To stay at union pier. We had four children as well on the trip. The home was beautiful and fit our size family gathering well. We rented bikes and took the bike path that the home sits right next to and pedaled everywhere! The Gorden beach is so close and such a nice clean beach. We would recommend this home and stay at it again!

This home was very accommodating for our family summer vacation. Completely updated!!! Very clean, well equipped and lots of different areas where children and adults can spend quality time with each other. We loved the hot tub!!! The shower outside was nice to have. Home is conveniently located two blocks from the beach. Parking is available if you need to drive to the beach. Close to bakery, grocery store and restaurants. Rsvp's staff we're great to work with. Would rent again!!

GlencoeCharming house with potential to be great.
Left on 08/11/2010 for a stay in August 2010
Great house -- walking distance from ice cream and donut shops. On the plus side: it had a beautiful front porch, master bath and screen porch. Negatives: no beach chairs or flag for space on the beach . . . we had to share a small, crowded public area on the beach. We got the house thru Rsvp rentals and service was non-existent. Rental-looking furniture was fine, but glassware and silverware is a bit tired looking. With a little TLC this property could be a dream come true!

Chicago, ILGreat for Girls Weekend!
Left on 05/05/2010 for a stay in April 2010
Three Gables is a beautiful, spacious home right in the middle of everything. It was perfect for 9 women on our annual Girls Weekend. We loved the upgrades throughout the home, and enjoyed dining out on the screened-in porch and spending time in the hot tub. We could walk down to the beach and to get groceries, and the wineries and spa were very close by as well. The rocking chairs on the front porch were a perfect way to sit and relax.
Our only wish for the home was a more open "common area". We were usually gathered in the kitchen or TV room, but there was never quite enough seating for our large group of 9. The basement would be a fun option if it were a little more homey (carpeting, large couch, etc.) However, this would not sway us from staying in this gorgeous and well-kept home again.
Thank you! -

IndianapolisFabulous house
Left on 09/30/2009 for a stay in September 2009
We had visited friends who had rented this house over the past 2 years, and loved it enough we finally rented it ourselves. As my kids would say, this house is AMAZING! Just the right amenities, with enough space for a large family, all the while making your stay feel cozy and welcome. The best compliment we can give is that we can not wait to rent again.

ChicagolandGreat Great Great!!
Left on 07/19/2009 for a stay in June 2009
After 10 years of vacationing in Union Pier and staying at various types of lodging, we have FINALLY found our summer vacation spot!!!
At one point there were 7 adults and 2 2-yr-olds, and there was more than enough room to be comfortable. Heck, we didn't even venture into the basement to play pool or foosball! Most of our time at the house was spent on the back screen porch or front porch.
The owners have upgraded two of the TVs to flat screens (LR, master BR), and added another couch in the LR. A very nice outdoor shower was built next to the hot tub (it's even better than the indoor ones!).
As prior reviews have stated, there are only 2 full baths. We were able to make the shower setup work, but a third full bath would've been nice.
Close proximity to two beaches - Union Pier and McKinley Street. The west side of the home does face Lakeshore Road, which can be a little noisy midday during the week with landscaping companies coming and going. That usually stops by 2:00, definitely not a deal-breaker by any means.
The 4 or 5 shops of Union Pier are even closer than the UP beach. One couple walked to the shops every morning for coffee and newspapers.
The immediate area also lends itself well to neighborhood strolls - the area NW of the home has many cute homes and quiet streets, and Lakeshore Road is a very popular for runners (it's 2.6 miles to Red Arrow and back).
We hope to return for many years to come. -

Left on 08/27/2008 for a stay in July 2008
This id a gorgeous house. The kitchen was well equipped to handle meals for a large group. Plus there was plenty of room for everyone to relax and enjoy themselves. The yard was especially great for kids, and the screened in deck was wonderful for the adults. The only drawback to this wonderful house is the arrangement of the bathrooms. There is a half bath downstairs that is accessable to everyone. There is a full bath downstairs off the master bedroom that is not as easily assessable to everyone. The other full bath is upstairs with the 4 other bathrooms, a bit to crowded if you have a full 10 people staying in the house! However, even though this was a bit challenging at times to get everyone showered, we would definitely stay in this house again. We've come to Union Pier for vacation the past seven years, have stayed in many different places, and this house is one of our favorites.
I particuallarly liked the insurance policy instead of a damage deposit. The doorknob came off an outside door, and RSVP rentals were quite prompt on getting it fixed.

This was a wonderful cottage for a large family or several families. It is new, spacious, clean, and well outfitted for spending a relaxing week at the lake. We absolutely loved it.
