Left on 09/26/2012 for a stay in September 2012
Spent 3 nights for a small family reunion. Loved this place!! Very comfortable and tastefully decorated. Close to beach and to Union Pier stores. Wish I could have stayed longer. Bring your own extra toilet paper, paper towels and wine glasses. Some of group felt we shouldn't have to wash towels and the stero / tv system was a challenge for us. Otherwise no problems. Can't wait to return!

What a beautiful home with a great location close to the beach. We loved the availability of the hot tub and campfire pit. The neighborhood was so peaceful. We would definately return to this vacation rental.

Chicago, ILNice Stay But amenities were Lacking
Left on 06/14/2012 for a stay in June 2012
This home is conveniently located close to beach access. I have been to Union Pier several times so I really like this area. The house itself was nice and there was enough room for 3 families to stay comfortably. Nice that the loft bedroom is on the other side of the house and designed for the kids. Fire pit was nice. Hot tub had some issues in that it was gurgling the entire time but for the most part, it was nice to have and it was definitely used. The space was decent and it was great having an screen in porch and deck to use. I was disappointed by the amenities that came with the house - There were only 2 1/2 rolls of TP for 6 people for a weekend and there were not extra. No handsoap in any of the bathrooms. I have never had to provide these when renting a home anywhere. No wine glasses and very few drinking glasses to use.We couldn't use the dated stereo to plug in our Iphones as there was no aUX output. There were too many remotes and no directions on how to use them except for the manufacturers manual which did not discuss how to use the equipment with any of the other receivers at the house. The towels were old and a bit ratty but that really wasn't that big of a deal. At the end of the day, it was an average rental experience for the value in my mind.

Batavia, ILGreat Week at Spring Green
Left on 08/17/2011 for a stay in August 2011
We enjoyed a wonderful week at Spring Green recently. The house is well laid out, with basically every amenity one needs, nicely furnished, and has room to spread out and enjoy some "space for yourself". The screened porch is a great feature for enjoying the outdoors on a rainy day (luckily we did not need to avail ourselves of that capabiltiy!) and the patio is a wonderful spot for enjoying an alfresco after-beach dinner or cocktails after the kids are in bed. There are 4 bedrooms - three of which (1 king, 2 queens) are on the first floor (good for Grandma who doesn't like to climb stairs), with the "kids" bedroom (2 twins and a trundle bed, w/separate 1/2 bath) upstairs. Lots of privacy, plenty of closet space; it's very easy to settle in here! The beach (Miller beach access, off Center av.) is about a two-ish blck walk - not too bad, 'specially with older kids that can help schlepp the beach chairs, umbrella, cooler, etc., or if you travel light. If you have a cart or wagon, you can use it to transport your beach things to the beach access and leave it there - it will be there when you get back up from the beach. Accces to the beach itself is mainly down a well-maintained set of stairs, so no worries about twisted ankles.
The only nits I would pick are:
1.) The sectional couch in the family room no longer seems to be able to be connected together properly - so the sections come apart if you sit near a "joint" and no one is on the adjacent secitots - leadign to a fall on the floor between sections. The sectional should be bolted together to avoid this in future.
2.) Too few wine glasses... odd for a place in the heart of "Wine Country"!
3.) The entry door from the outsde to the laundry room area does not have a dead-bolt, it only locks via the doorknob lock. Therefore, it can always be opened from the inside (even if locked from the outside) - not great if you have toddlers that can turn doorknobs and go exploring unattended. -

House was very clean and comfortable. Location to all we needed was in walking distance. Our only minor problem was trash cans were full when we arrived and was not picked up until Wednesday. We had to put all our trash in the garage and then move to cans.

ChicagoNice place to stay in Union Pier
Left on 10/15/2009 for a stay in October 2009
We stayed over the long Columbus Day weekend. The beds were comfy and the decorating nice. There were movies and books to use as well as some toys for the kids. We had some trouble with the TV's the first night but Greg came out the next day and fixed all the equipment except the DVD player in the kids room. We had 5 kids and 4 adults and there was enough room, especially at the table that seats 10 or 12, I am not sure, there were a lot of chairs!

geneva, ILGreat Bachelorette weekend!
Left on 10/07/2009 for a stay in October 2009
Hello, we had a great weekend at Spring green. The house was large and
spacious. We had wanted to use the fire pit but it rained both nights. Couple
things were a bit frustrating, the tv remotes were very complicated and we
couldn't get the tv to work. This is coming from many people trying. The
smoke alarm in one of the bedrooms alarm was going off in the middle of the
night. Basically the batteries were low but we had nothing to change it with
and had to wait till the am. The biggest thing was the hot tub, it didnt have a
way for us to check the chemicals in it to verify that it was sanitary and safe.
By the second night the group that went in that night ended up with a "hot tub
rash" Not good when you have a wedding coming up! Other than that the
people with RSVP were nice and helpful. The house was clean and had great
ammenities. We would definitely rent from them again but we would ask more
questions about the hot tub. -

River Forest, ILGreat beach vacation home
Left on 07/22/2009 for a stay in July 2009
We had a wonderful stay at Spring Green. The house was large with an open floor plan that was perfect for our group with children. The adults also loved the bonus bedroom above the garage for all the children.
We brought our bikes (which we stored easily in the empty garage)and had a daily choice of four beautiful public beaches to choose from. Two of the beaches were an easy walk only a couple blocks away.
Union Pier is a quaint beach town that we fell in love with. Shopping was available in New Buffalo only a few miles down the road. A couple miles north will bring you to the Sawyer Market with the BEST "pies in a bag" that you have ever tasted! We will definitely be back!
The only flaw was nature related - lots of mosquitoes - make sure to bring insect repellent. -

Park Ridge ILGirl's Weekend
Left on 11/18/2008 for a stay in November 2008
The house was great. Had issues with not having toilet paper when we got there and than having RSVP bring a few small rolls for 8 girls for 4 days! Needless to say we had to buy many more rolls.
The bathroom situation was challenging, wish there were more, they advertise 3 bathrooms but have only 21/2. Only 2 have showers.
The house is beautiful, clean and well appointed. thanks -

Chicago, ILGreat Fall Girls Getaway
Left on 09/10/2008 for a stay in September 2008
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Spring Green. The house was well laid out and spacious. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed and accommodated our group of eight women. We enjoyed the hot tub and the easy access to the beautiful Union Pier beaches. The house had plenty privacy and landscaping. The three bedrooms on the first floor were very comfortable. The upstairs bedroom which is set up as a kids room was not as comfortable for adults, due to the plastic covered mattresses. The only other thing that would have been helpful for our two night stay would have been toilet paper, hand & bar soap, and dish washing soap. We had a slight problem with the TV, but Greg at RSVP was quick to come over and fix it. We would definitely consider renting the house again.

Great House for a Family Christmas
Left on 09/10/2008 for a stay in December 2006
Our family was kind of burned out on all of the Hustle and Bustle of Christmas and decided to get away and just spend Christmas together. We spent three night and four days eating, drinking, watching movies on the great TV at the house. The open set-up of the living, dining and kitchen made it so we could all be together doing different things. On Christmas Eve, in the snow, we had a great fire in the fire pit and spent hours in the hot tub watching the fire. We had music, fire and water and was great. We highly recommend this house not only for a summer vacation but also for a winter get away. Thanks.

Fantastic
Left on 08/27/2008 for a stay in July 2008
We had a ball. Our familiies from Wheaton Ill. and Orlando Fl. joined my wife and I for the weeek. The kids had their own room upstairs, we were able to share meals at the dining room table, enjoy the screen porch, and spend evenings making s'mores around the fire pit. Days were spent at the nearby fabulous beach, going to nearby attractions such as the Warren Dunes or blueberry picking. A true sign this place was everything we hoped it would be: the grandkids cried when it was time to leave, and my son-in-law hasn't stopped talking about his vacation.`
